I've been saying that charging stations need to be just like gas stations with a store, bathroom, an attendant to report issues, air pumps for tires, windshield wasters, etc. Those needs don't go away just because you are driving an EV.

The US has a real masculinity problem, even though 95% of SUVs are just vans made to look muscular with no actual sport utility at all US buyers just refuse to buy anything that doesn't look like it's meant to invade Afghanistan. The industry did it to itself by aggressively marketing for masculinity in trucks and SUVs for literal decades.

The safety at EV stations is a real concern. Electrify America often uses Walmart parking lots where they tend to be full of homeless and drug users panhandling. Tesla Supercharger stations are slightly better located, but CCS stations on average are in secluded areas with poor lighting at night. EV stations aren't as dangerous as gas stations yet, but that's only because the criminals haven't adapted.

I mentioned in a comment on another Autoline Daily video before this that EV charging stations should be like gas stations and placed in "safe" places. I also mentioned that EV charging stations should have signs on the highway, just like gas stations, so a person doesn't need to relay solely on the EV's navigation system to find one. I may be an Aerospace Engineer, but this is not freaking rocket science! Having EV charging stations in Target, Walmart, and other "out of the way" seedy looking parking lots is just plain crazy! What happens when you need to show up to one of these charging stations at 2am, when the stores and restaurants in the parking area are closed, and you have to sit in your car in that "abandoned" parking lot for 45 minutes to top off you EV? What happens when you need to use the bathroom? I'm amazed that there aren't reports of people being robbed or harassed at one of these charging stations. It also amazes me that Autoline has cheer-led the boneheaded decisions made by EV companies, mostly Tesla, in the past, only to turn around later and report how stupid these decisions were, or how uncomfortable future buyers are with these decisions. I don't look to Autoline as a source of critical or investigative journalism. However, I would like to see some evidence of critical thinking when it comes to reporting on EVs, and so far Autoline Daily and Autoline After Hours has been failing on that regard. I've already started to click "Not interested" on all of the Autoline Tesla related stories, and almost clicked it for this story because it had "Tesla ..." in the headline. I'm sick of watching you folks fawn over every obvious boneheaded decision made by that company.

Firstly A car company that can't work on more than one new model at a time is bound to fail in this fast changing market. The model 2 is the model 2 because it's going to be smaller than the 3. But it also won't because it's not a real car and they aren't making it.

It outsells Rivian RT1, and will likely outsell the Ford Lightning in it's first year of production, all while at a higher Foundation series pricetag. I always pick Tesla Superchargers that at are 24/7 gas stations with good lighting in my Model Y by researching Plugshare before I go on a road trip, including looking at photos. There are enough SCers now that you can be picky that way. Some of the SCers are in not-so-good locations

The most likely thing that is actually happening in western China is this: --- All across China every child must learn to read and write 'Mandarin' in school. --- Adults who have not learnt rudimentary chinese writing and speaking are forced to do so in some provines. The learning centres are effectively prisons. People in prison in China do not get important jobs like building electronic components for export. Job in these factories are a reward for people who do well in language classes. --- China is attempting to lift every village in China out of poverty in just 15 to 20 years. Anything vaguely subsistance is replaced by modern farming and industrial practices. For the people it is great. Their kids go to school, get proper health care, and do very limited work for family businesses due to required school attendance, etc. --- Western governments and media show their ignorance of China which builds animosity towards the west in many countries as we are seen as dumb-arse red-necks who will kill people, make wars because that is all we know.
