Thanks for the tips! I solved one really annoying rattle from the rear driver side door panel. Now, it cleared up more audible spectrum for additional rattles inside the cabin which are not so obvious. The hunt continues.

My compliments to you! Your investigations ought to be assigned training for the Tesla engineers. My wife forwarded this video to me, she is the Teslarati, my car is a 2017 124 Abarth convertible. My car makes a lot of “music “, so the M3 is a real game-changer on noise and vibration. Tesla has a wonderful community and you are certainly a wonderful resource. I enjoyed this video - you’re a good mechanic.

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy all things mechanical and Tesla is no exception. Mechanically very simple car and it reminds me of early 70s cool cars that you can easily work on. Btw I love the abarth, it took me 15 minutes to figure out where the catalytic converter is on that Fiat.

For any gasket/rubber related squeaks, I use Gummi Pflege. I first started using it on my GTI, and it works wonders. It also helps to condition the rubber so it lasts longer.

Yes!. That's what I was going to suggest. It keeps those gaskets lasting longer in addition to reducing noise.

I was going crazy trying to find the creak in my car, but didn’t think to check the window seals until I saw this video. That was exactly it. Luckily mine was in the corner and it was easy enough to peel it back just enough to put a sliver of foam behind it.

Thanks for this. I think I have the styrofoam rattle in the backseat. Also have the window rubber seal noise you mentioned. I’ve tried using gummi pflege, but it doesn’t help much. The issue is very dependent on temperature and humidity.

Great video. I must have lucked out because my Model 3 only has 1 rattle after 9,000 miles. It’s in the back so it’s hard to pinpoint, but that under seat foam seems a likely culprit. Thanks!

2022 AWD Model 3, has an interior rattle coming from front passenger door area. Taped down any wires or cables in the door, still rattling. Now I believe its the puddle light thats rattling. We shall see. ty

That green connector at 12:49 worked its way off that threaded stud and was making a little rattle for me. I just popped it back on and taped it in place and its been good since. It made a sharp tapping sound before.

Build quality is pretty below average. Most cars have these problems, but this one is very noticeable due to the car being electric and very less noise reduction efforts. It took them 3 years to bring double pane glass on just front windows.

Im so glad to know Im not the only anal person who gets annoyed with interior rattles and squeaks! I wish Tesla design engineers would watch these types of videos and learn something and fix the damn thing! No excuse for such a new car to have these many quality issues. I love the way my Tesla drives but when I hear these annoying rattles, it changes my whole feeling about the car and makes me feel like selling the damn thing!!!

I have a loud noise in my driver side door panel. I will disassemble the door myself rather than take it in. I bet it's that wire that you pointed out at 7:37.

Can you do a video on how to swap seat belt straps? I know how to open the top panel of the seat belt, but how do you get to the bottom part?

I have the buzzing noise from the rear seat area when I am on the rough road. I have gone to the SC several times they couldn't fix it. I wonder if it is from the rear wheel well or the bracket bolts that hold the battery. Thanks for the video!

@@andycub ended up just taking the door panels and pillar covers off and foam taping everything that could potentially tap or rattle. The worst offender is the gap between door piece (entire plastic assembly) and metal. Putting foam tape between that substantially increased quality of sound system and eliminated noisy buzzing.

Was not too hard and I am a total coward when it comes to cars. I would also suggest following seatbelt rattle fix (follow up one) from LivingTesla KZbin channel. Perfectly happy with my car now :)

I love acceleration and power but Tesla should focus on reducing rattling and annoying noises first before FSD. My 2023 Model Y LR has rattling and annoying noises front dashboard and rear seat area. I took mine to Tesla service twice and left it there total 10 days but TSLA service tech can not fix it. I regret so much that I bought Model Y and my friends are saying same thing 😢 I wish Tesla Service Tech can fix it.

@@ash92x1 yes I went to Tesla, and it turns out that the layers of metal in the body around the wheel arch was separating and causing the creaking. Their solution was to glue them back together with some strong metal bonding agent, it was also nice of them to spread this bonding agent on the paint work, so now has to go back to get resprayed.... pretty shocking service and build quality. All under warranty, so if you car is making the same noise, be persistent, it was only when I took it to another Tesla service centre did they actually sort it. You wouldn't believe how many times this car has been in a service centre since ive had it since new.

My rattle goes away when I put the windows down (by 1%) on the rear passenger side but as soon I bring the windows up the clicking noise starts. How come window down stops it?

Try using rubber conditioner on the window seals. It probably is the cause of your rattle.

I used silicon spray but it made a mess, now I use rubber conditioner and graphite lube in just some spots.

@@JJCentral-DIY in some areas it come from under the seal that I can’t get too. I used a silicone lube that has helped but still hearing some noise. I think it’s the seal anyway. Who knows with these cars :(

@@Just_daniel_ do you have window glass tinted? If so that is also a reason it gets more friction. I had to cut the film a little lower to get the rubber to slip without catching

@@Just_daniel_ I tested another Tesla without tinting to see what the difference is and sure enough mine was catching in that initial pull. I cut half inch of the film on the top of window and it doesn't catch and make that constant sound anymore when going on bumps. It doesn't show when the window is up, but clearly shows when it is down.

Did you tint the windows? That can cause that click when the window film slides across the molding.
