This is best and unbiased review of the 7 seater. Most KZbinrs rant about not fitting a huge person in the 3rd row :) The 3rd row is clearly made for smaller people under 5'5". Thanks for your review. Thumbs up!

I'm 5'7" and fit just fine back there. However, I do have a shorter torso so... Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the usability of the third row for average to smaller sizes adults. If you're huge, don't sit back there!

The rants are warranted. It's too small for anything other than a child and only for short trips. Also, no air vents back there either.

The lid in the trunk is shaped like that so when it is flipped with it "raised", and you put down the 2nd & 3rd row seats, it is level

Yes, you can physically fit for a short distance, but it’s a non starter for this 5 person household. Took one for a test drive a few weeks back and the electronic latches to move the second row seat just sealed the deal (didn’t work great).

I picked up my new 5 seat MYLR last Friday. It has the new console and other recent upgrades. No new headlights but honestly the ones I have are amazing. I spent considerable time inspecting the car before taking delivery. The midnight silver paint is perfect. Zero problems with the paint . Fitting and specs of body panels also fantastic. I really couldn’t find anything to call out. The car is getting PPF and Ceramic as I write this. Doing calipers (yellow) and window tint next week. I’ve only driven the car 100 miles but so far it’s flawless. Tesla is making real progress on QC and overall quality. I’m impressed! So happy the car does so well in real world driving in snow and weather. Thanks for dropping this video, it is quite good.

Thank you for being specific about the size of the person who would be comfortable in that back row. Most folks have said it would be good for 'younger children', but if your younger kiddo is a 5'9" 12 year old, then they're the same size as an average adult. Our family of 6 is all under 5'7" so knowing that we'd all fit 'comfortably' in that back row has been a game changer. For comparison sake, it may be good to have a 5' and 6' person sit in that back row so we can see the difference? Thanks again!

I just completed a 13-day 4800 mile road trip from upstate New York to Texas, Florida, and back in my standard range model Y. For those who are range concerned, here are my observations: There are a few charging deserts along the Gulf Coast where the short range impacted the decisions about where we were going to go. And to be fair, that may be due to infrastructure gaps as much as range on the car. I have an early $2,500 reservation on a long range Y that I didn't exercise because after driving it I was thinking I might rather have the performance, the LRY is a fair amount slower than my long range 3, and feels a little bit heavy. Anyway, I'm amazed by how great this car is for 40k. You're probably only going to be slightly aware of its shortcomings, and then only on a long roadtrip. The car is super efficient and way over cautious with its charging advice, which means that you can save 10 or 15 minutes at superchargers by leaving before the car says you can. We were also able to ignore the "stay under 75 mph to reach your destination" warnings, at least when they came with more than 50% charge left. My order of "things missed" 48 amp ac charging would be nice. Faster supercharging. Lane change. (Not putting fsd on this car) Stop lights. Last, more range.

Could you make a video comparing trunk dimensions for both 5 and 7 seat versions for all the possibilities of folding or not the different rear seats, and when moving forward and backward the middle seat of the 7 seat in a seat up position compared with the 5 seat? I'll throw in as a random opinion. I wouldn't for the Model Y. The range @85mph of the AWD is short enough I wouldn't go any shorter. The Model Y really needs another 10kW to get it to EPA 400 miles. At highway speed it loses a lot more range than the Model 3 and this would get it to the ~300 actual mile range it needs to be at for long distance trips.

@@TedKidd thanks for your insight definitely taking it into consideration in my final decision, I’m not happy that Tesla increased the Performance model Y by 1k so I’m putting off purchasing for now. Raising the prices on electric vehicles seem counterintuitive to getting people to purchase one and lets not talk about FSD 10k LOl. And I say this with the most humility i can afford it I’m just not going to pay for it. I’m going to wait for the Mach E performance then make my decision this summer thanks again for sharing your experience with me Tesla’s are great cars.
