This is one of the best autopilot videos I have seen.

thanks for doing the test. I have been nervous about using FSD on the freeway and using lane change.... I am going to give it another shot.

Lane change is very very safe, but I can't say that about autopilot autosteer, it struggles to keep in lane on sharp turns if u go fast, gets too close to cars and all that... you just have to watch for those situations. I personally still don't recommend paying $10k for this, though FSD beta on streets is times better than what we have available, so hopefully they transition that into highways as well

Wonder if the auto lane change feature will come for regular auto pilot. Kia has it in their system

What are the settings for lane change? Mad Max or Average?

wait is this FSD? or just autopilot or enhanced autopilot?

For some reason I am not able to change lanes. I have my autopilot ON and when I turn the signal my car just stay in the same lane and there is no vehicle anywhere around me.
@CBRF3 жыл бұрын
You have to have FSD package ($10k) or FSD subscription ($200/mo.) to be able to use lane change, if you have it, go to settings - autopilot - enable navigate on autopilot

Good video cheers!

Do you need the FSD for the line change or just basic autopilot?
@connor67802 жыл бұрын
For auto lane change you need either enhanced autopilot or FSD
@charleswang97403 жыл бұрын
did you have to buy the EAP in order to have the auto lane change functional? My MY only has the standard AP, I haven't been able to figure out how to/if the auto lane change works
@CBRF3 жыл бұрын
Auto lane change is a part of FSD package, I personally do not think it's worth $10k and I did not buy it myself (the car has 3 months FSD trial). But the subscription is coming soon and I expect it to be priced more reasonably.

@@CBRF I think it will be 99 dollars a month or something like that.

i thought changing lanes disengages autopilot?
@lolocrazy15353 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you think auto-lane change will automatically merge on the highway or interstate for you? When entering the highway or interstate?
@CBRF3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, it will, but it's *very* tricky in heavy traffic. We honestly just have to wait for "FSD beta" public rollout, because that version is times better than what's shown in this video. Although they haven't transitioned those improvements into NoA (nav. on autopilot), city streets FSD just shows what could be implemented into NoA in the future, as of now, it's not great and can't even keep the car in lane at high speeds on curves.
@lolocrazy15353 жыл бұрын
@@CBRF thanks for the insight! I noticed in the video you told the car to change lanes and it did but I was wondering based off of gps does the car change lanes automatically to get you to your destination or do you have to alert the car to change lanes when there is “space” for the car to complete a lane change?
@CBRF3 жыл бұрын
Yes, NoA uses gps to start lane change automatically, you basically just have to sit and watch, it's pretty cool for what it is! & like you said, you can just manually "tell" the car to change lanes, but it overtakes slow cars and takes exits by itself

Mine doesn’t work. I have FSD. Everything is turned on. Ideas? Thank you 🙏

Hey! How long ago did you buy the car? Sometimes it takes time to calibrate the cameras (about 100-200 miles), but if you already drove that much, I'd try to restart the screen by pressing both scroll wheels on the steering at the same time and holding them until the screen goes black, then wait for it to restart. Check autopilot settings and make sure that navigate on autopilot is turned on (again).
@DannyPorsche3 жыл бұрын
@@CBRF drove 400 miles, restarted the screen, etc. Does not work. Neither autopark never pops up close to a spot. Anything else? Thank you!
@CBRF3 жыл бұрын
You can try "Settings - Service - Camera calibration" Do u have a "summon" button on your tesla phone app? If it doesn't work after the calibration, schedule service thru tesla app and they might even fix it remotely

@@CBRF made an appt, and a few minutes later everything was working like magic. These people are unbelievable. They don't admit anything.

So question does it like tell you when to Signal it to like tell the car to change lanes like say if your driving somewhere new and you don’t know when land ends or exit on that lane is coming up will it tell you to tell the car to get over basically so hard to explain
@kobeisthegoat94892 жыл бұрын
@CyberFuture
@CBRF2 жыл бұрын
Mostly yes, it's GPS-based and tells you when to use blinker to confirm (or changes automatically if u enabled it in settings), but some highways are not mapped, so it uses regular autopilot and doesn't notify you/doesn't change, just keeps in lane
@juliematthews16142 жыл бұрын
I don’t see how anyone could feel safe in this car. You say it will just cut other cars off? The car is capable of making mistakes, correct? I would have to take a test drive in one. This seems very unsettling. You kept saying the car is gonna freak out! LOL 😂
@CBRF2 жыл бұрын
It's not perfect and that's why you always pay attention, way too many variables and it obviously makes mistakes.

Hi ! I'm a student from Germany, currently conducting research in the field of automated driving cars. Would you be interested in participating in an online interview? Unfortunately, I couldn't find any contact information. Let me know if you're interested, and I can send you further information. Best, Anna from THI Ingolstadt
