I don't know of any evidence that Ford loses money on the Mach-e. They manufacture it in Mexico so labor costs are low, and Munro was happy with most of the design so I don't see a lot of extra expense. As far as sourcing arrays of solar collectors, super-efficient batteries, and the know-how, there's no competition. Part of Ford's problem is the dealer model. They sell cars to dealers not car owners. The dealers buy the cars and sell them to people. So Ford can only produce as many cars as the dealers are willing to accept, they are constrained by dealer demand. And their dealers want nothing to do with EV's because the service/maintenance $ are not there. Until they can get the dealers to be enthusiastic about EV's they are going to be 2nd rate, no matter how good the vehicles like the Mach-E are.

Anyone know what is a `Living Stereo Stylist` .. and for that matter what group do they get put in?
@ernestgalvan90372 жыл бұрын
“Stylus” not “Stylist”… “Groove” not “Group” Refers to the Analog Records used in the past for audio. ‘Stylus’ is the fancier word for ‘needle’, used to play the record. ‘groove’ is the physical groove that was cut into the record. Hit up Wikipedia for deeper history/explanation. ‘Living Stereo’ basically ‘marketing’ term, for two-channel sound that sounded ‘real’ or ‘live’, versus ‘recorded’. Older methods were monophonic, just one channel. ‘Living Stereo’ ‘Living Color’ Different times, back then…. Kids these days don’t know how good they have it.. 🥸

Still trailing behind VAG in Europe and barely ahead of Stellantis....
@jonpetter89212 жыл бұрын
@rsm 287 It s not like people want only to buy Teslas and other companies will stop selling EVs right ? Tesla only have 2 models to offer, VW Group is already up to dozen models, and new ones is coming every years....
@jonpetter89212 жыл бұрын
@rsm 287 I don t know where are you from but in Europe there are plenty of Evs to choose from these days. Sale of new ICE is likely to be forbidden from 2030 as well. In Norway that new ICE may be forbidden by 2025....

Oil is like food Lars. The car is the consumer. Thats the explanation for rise in the price. Think of oil as food. They will fight for it. Only way to stabilize need is to increase transition to green energy which is sutainable.

One thing I learned, when you are dealing with anything electrical or digital, quality over price forever, no exceptions. but if someone can make quality hardware at a winning price, they will always become a market leader... there are no shortcuts... GM just proved this fundamental principle once again...
