Not if you strip it for very expensive parts. They immediately cut the power and towed it to a chop shop. You can make several 10s of Gs if you fully strip one. He sold it for a few grand to an organized crime group (the chop shop). How come the police were an able to track the first stolen one, and that I'm sure the car has some kind of tracking device on it. Plus also to recharge the vehicle, at least at a Tesla charging station would be recorded. So the technology was there to identify the whereabouts of the first car. Basically, the cops did not do their due diligence to properly investigate the first car stolen.

Tesla can actually shut down/turn off the car remotely if they wanted too or even prevent if from charging at all. Most likely the battery has been disconnected and the car has been chopped for parts. Tesla parts are very expensive cause they got a monopoly on parts and service. Can't steal a Tesla in the conventional sense by hot wiring and driving away. Only way of stealing one is to tow it, getting hold of the key (still can be remotely disabled), hacking it (modern day hot wire) but doubt these two geniuses know how to do that.

You are not given the title at purchase because there is no title on a brand new car. The title is given by the state. New vehicles only have a manufacture certificate of origin that you will never see cause it goes directly sent to the state. The state then issues the title. It takes the DMV at least a month before the title is sent out. The news cast said that Tesla after he left with the car did they realized that it was fraud...my guess is it took at least the next day if not a few for everything to go thru proper channels for them to know it was fraud. So you need to learn to listen to the news story and know how things actually work. And lets assume that he has a tittle, which he did not, Tesla can still track you cause ALL their cars are connected to Tesla. The can remotely shut down the car as well as not let it charge. Only way to severe that connection is to literally disconnect the battery. Next time know your fact before yapping your big mouth..or should I say keyboard.

How is Tesla not able to recover the stolen car? The cars are purely GPS guided and dependent on it. Heck on the Tesla app it literally tells you what speed the car is going, whether the windows are open, and even what song you’re listening to along with the volume it’s at.

Tesla don’t have access to your location unless two things happen they are ordered by a court or the person gives them access. In teslas you can turn off the gps feature. Also a lot of companies purposely won’t allow location access to avoid potential lawsuits

Wow.. it's supposed to be the most technologically advanced car, and it isn't even equipped with low-jack... They can cut power to your car remotely when your subscription runs out, but they can't do the same when you steal a Tesla for reasons... Seems like these cars are the best investment ever. So well thought out. So well built. And the reliability of those $60,000 batteries that need to last 25 years in order to offset the carbon produced to make them which fail in 5 years.. Really. Best investment ever.

How can tesla not track a vehicle that's all electric?. As soon as it's connected to a charger whether it be a tesla charger or a home charger, the GPS should automatically be enabled and not ever be able to be removed.

how does it hinder them. Barely any maintenance and no more wasting time ever going to a gas station or wasting that money (just charge overnight in your garage when you need to). Oh and access to carpool lane when you're driving by yourself. Not sure how these are hindrances 😂.
