I don't think that I could cull. I'm thinking of getting into reptiles. Getting older and reptiles seem easier than dogs now. I do love my dogs though.

I have a male leo: Hyper Xantic Eclipse that is possible HET Raptor, and a female leo: Boldstripe that is possible HET Rainwater. How would I go about finding if they are HET for those genetics or not. I'd like to breed them together when they are old enough, but I'm worried about their HETs mixing things up. I'd like to go for Boldstripe, Hyper Xantic, Eclipse, Rainwater.

Should I give my leopard gecko mealworms or crickets?
@dreamcoleman39288 жыл бұрын
mealworms they are wayyyy better. and easy to care
@mikysivek8 жыл бұрын
Crickets are little bit better but it really doesnt matter
@gtrdeath280642128 жыл бұрын
Many years ago when I was a kid and had Leopard Geckos they used to say too many mealworms could possibly cause impaction in their intestines and kill them. I am not sure how much truth there is to that so I would give mine mostly vitamin dusted crickets and mealworms on occasion. Nowadays I only keep snakes and Gecko species that don't rely on insects because crickets stink and chirp so damn much its nearly impossible to sleep in a room with a bunch of them. So my animals only eat rodents and Powdered meal replacement(Crested Gecko Diet). So if I were keeping insectivorous creatures these days I would probably feed them Dubia Roaches. They weren't around in the pet trade when I was a kid but they don't smell as bad and they don't make noise.
@tylerbenton37348 жыл бұрын
Rusty Shackleford If you mean like mealworms would eat there stomach you were told a hoax. worms have to breathe atleast once every couple seconds or they die. in the his digestive system there is a ton of liquid and acid to break shit down. the worm drowns in this part. i dont use crickets that often because i watch a lot of horror movies and if they get out of his cage they will wander in the house then i might have a heart attack when i wake up at 4:30 am for coffee and muffins when one is on my chest.
@gtrdeath280642128 жыл бұрын
Nah, I actually never even heard of anything like them eating the gecko from the inside. What I was referring to is "impaction." It's when the contents entering the digestive tract are so fibrous and coarse they get lodged and stop the flow of anything. Major constipation resulting in internal hemorrhaging and death.
@BMGeckos11 жыл бұрын
Glad to see you back! Great information as well!

Welcome to the world of consumer pets, I mean thats what it all comes down too really, all these baby's and racks of animals being morphed out for looks, the next best product to be consumed and boxed up and shipped out... Why not just enjoy and animal for what it is rather than box up thousands of them to change them for humans taste i mean if you don't like the pure natural untouched un-manipulated version get a different animal...
@auslee10010 жыл бұрын
then what would be the point of breeding at all? there wouldn't be any variation
@Autumnvicky10 жыл бұрын
He's not genetically engineering them. They ARE still natural, he's just bringing forth traits already there, just hidden under more dominant traits. The lizard shows pretty colors and in return it gets human servants to feed them, care for them and breed them. Evolutionary win.
@AlexTubed10 жыл бұрын
Theres a huge divide between genetic engineering and artificial selection. However, under a reputable breeder such as Sasobek it is not harmful to the animal. Plus, the actual morphs fit into different tastes which is the rationale behind why these breeders do what they do. Ultimately, a wider selection of the animals enables more people to enjoy the hobby.
@Greaugh694205 жыл бұрын
Oh whoopdie doo... someone who doesn’t understand that genetic editing is different than using a male and female’s traits to make a beautiful baby.
