I drove one of the first ones they produced out of the factory before they were introduced to the public. Nice truck, is basically a Cascadia. Picked it up from the Western Star headquarters main office.

Having served in military, I recognized the German accent of Peter. Then I read on website that Western Star parent company is Daimler which is Germany. This is the "Mercedes-Benz" of trucks! Nice! I wonder how much those would set you back? Would be great to see some more company's start purchasing more Western Stars for our truckers.

It is a nice truck. Freightliner is also a Daimler company and this shares most of its components with the Cascadia. It is essentially a more luxurious and better looking Cascadia.

I like it.... That air vent on the drivers right is triggering my OCD. Looks perfectly place for actual use but my brain keeps trying to turn it to match the other on closer to the passenger then it doesn't match the display so my brain turns it back and.. I need to go for a walk and not think about it...... LOL

If I had money to spec out any new truck, and taking into consideration I’m an owner/operator with all the responsibilities that come with that, I’d grab the 57x with a DD16. You get all the reliability, parts, and maintenance support you normally get from Freightliner and Detroit, but in a more upscale and customizable package. I also think the 57x looks the best out of all the current aero trucks, but even if it didn’t, this option makes too much sense for an o/o.

Here us our opinion: Bottom line…we prefer KW’s for a smoother ride. The WS rides more like a Freightliner. But…interior was very nice, a bit more upscale. Loved the dinette.
