Love the quick flight. Not a lot of “up thermal” sounds. Too bad it was a crummy day. Beats my old 2-32 by a long shot. We used to thermal over pulp mills and got sick as a dog for a 30 minute flight. Sigh… enjoy the sweet days of 50:1 glide ratios.

Stefan, beautiful aircraft, but is there going to be an electric version? You were towed into the air. Does that mean that the engine is only able to be a sustainer engine and does not provide self-launch capability?

Looking at competition results, where 29's are beating the 33, makes you wonder if it is worth the substantial increased cost over an ASG-29? Think I'd spend the money putting a self launching RES into a 29....... Luka?

@@1980zander Новые планеры этой и ряда других компаний не являются серийными изделиями по своей сути, хоть модели производят сотнями, но каждый планер это индивидуальный заказ и договор с предоплатой. Вы не можете приехать и купить планер, как в магазине автомобиль из числа имеющихся, за редким исключением. В договоре покупки описываются основные параметры планера и его комплектация. Комплектация может очень сильно влиять на цену. В базовую входит только сам планер. Для такого класса планеров с крыльями 15 метров, без мотора и т.д. она составляет не менее 150 тыс. Евро. И вам предлагают установить разные крылья 15 и 18 метров, разные винглеты, ёмкости для водяного балласта, контейнер для транспортировки и хранения планера, приборы, радиостанцию, и даже кожаную обивку кокпита, эти радости могут составить ещё 100 и более тыс. Евро. Конкретную стоимость того, на котором летал Стефан, надеюсь он озвучит в следующем видео, на первый взгляд, приблизительно около 230 тыс. Евро.

Why would you tow off the grass strip even if there is a runway right there? I can understand landing on a grass strip but it is hard to imagine that starting off a grass strip is better than asphalt.

No. The model Stefan is flying is the AS-33ES. The engine is called a sustainer, in that allows the sailplane to continue flying if already airborne, but not launch it from the ground. The electric self launching version is the AS-33ME.

Nothing planned yet. I tried to contact Jonkers last autumn via several ways and they didn´t respond. Most likely they were too busy fixing some last problems with the RES.

Warum sollte man von der ASG 29 auf die AS 33 umsteigen?

Wegen der höheren maximalen Flächenbelastung, etwas besseren Gleitzahl und den schönen Detaillösungen (Cockpit, Mückenputzern, einziehbares Spornrad,...). Natürlich muss sich jeder selber die Frage stellen, ob es einem das wert ist.
