*Don't believe the hype and all the lies and exaggerations that the mainstream media tells you!!* I'm not saying Boeing was not entirely at fault with those MAX crashes, but to anyone with half a brain, it should be clear, that the _primary_ reason those planes crashed, is that poorly skilled and badly trained pilots, operating these 3rd world airlines, did not have the high levels of experience, skill and judgment to take _CORRECTIVE_ action when those components, related to the MCAS system, failed! Both those incidents should NEVER have resulted in crashes, had they been in the hands of competent pilots. As the saying goes, *_"2 wrongs dont' make a right!!"_* Has anyone ever asked themselves, why there wasn't a SINGLE CRASH in the United States, with *FIVE TIMES* the miles and passengers flown, as these airlines, and for a much much longer period of time, as well?? Guess not, because for most, it is too much trouble to think critically, for themselves. Much easier to injest the falsehoods being propagated by the CLUELESS and somtimes, outright DISHONEST mainstream news outlets!

@oilersman953 жыл бұрын
Uh no. There was a massive programming overhaul of the MCAS system along with mandatory installation of several safety features including the MCAS warning lights which were extra originally. Additionally, the training pilots receive before flying the max is completely changed. All documentation has been updated and scrutinized heavily. Also all pilots must now train on a 737 max simulator before flying the aircraft unlike before whereas training on the 737 next gen was considered sufficient. Another thing that should at least provide a bit of comfort to passengers, is this is likely the most scrutinized aircraft in production. Unlike its predecessors and competitors, this plane has been completely inspected from top-to-bottom by certification officials in both the US and Canada. Previously, the aircraft was certified by Boeing's internal certification team and not by Transport Canada, FAA, or EASA directly (do a search on the the FAA's Organization Designation Authorization program).
@NikonF5user3 жыл бұрын
@@oilersman95 All very good to hear, thank you for the information! I guess I've just been surprised that the planes did not need to return to Boeing to get updated. The MCAS fix is a software update, it's for the flight control computers and also for the display system (in order to display warnings that were optional before). According to videos showing how American Airlines gets its MAXes ready, it takes about 4 to 6 hours to get it done. There is also a hardware fix for the wire bundle that goes to the horizontal stabilizer. Some wires have to be separated more in order to reduce or eliminate the possibility that a short circuit might cause the stabilizer to run uncommandedly. The old wire bundle doesn't meet current specifications anymore.

@@oilersman95 omg! state of the art? It has cables running all over the place for control surfaces. wing/airframe are antique. In fact airplane is so low to the ground, that boeing had to make a big hack just to get a modern engine to work. Modern "state-of-the-art" aircraft are made of modern materials. Composites etc... Like the 787 or 777x. They are modern. Modern aircraft have FBW. MAX is junk, pig with lipstick. I could go on. If you want to know what "modern" aircraft are, look at how an A350 or 787 is designed and built. Then come back to me with a new opinion.
@oilersman953 жыл бұрын
@@rockerobertson4002 Those choices were made to ensure a specific type-certification was not required for the 737 MAX, instead anyone certified on the 737 NG would be able to fly the MAX. This is however, no longer the case. The fact is the systems you decry are no more or less reliable or suitable than aircraft with FBW. Also by state-of-the-art I was referring to computation, engines, and aerodynamics. All of the carried over designs and systems were also used to promote cost savings as maintenance personnel would not need a long training course. However, calling the plane "junk" for being cost-effective and using tried and true design speaks more to your own biases then what the actual facts dictate. What you have to realize is that the max was designed as a stopgap until 2030 when a new aircraft will be designed. This aircraft was designed with cost-effectivity in mind. It is ignorant to think that technological improvements will ever override economic factors. You can design a state-of-the-art completely composite aircraft but unless you can compete with your competitor (A320neo) it doesn't matter.
@rockerobertson40023 жыл бұрын
@@oilersman95 I know all about the choices made and why. I have nothing but praise for the 737 platform, up to the 800 series. Even then it was old. But are you to suggesting the new LEAP engines were easily mounted on the "50 year old state of the art 737" platform? (oxymoron intended!) Boeing had to do a huge hack to make it work. Ugly hack. Decision was made based on corporate/shareholder pressures. Definitely not engineering. Only thing modern on a max are the engines. Some cockpit upgrades too. Shrink the 787 down, there's your new 757 and 737 option. THAT would be state of the art. Love the 787.
