Test Ride: Harley-Davidson 72

The Roadster review was weak since my camera died halfway through, so here's another for this week! The Harley-Davidson 72 is also based on the Sportster, but is about as different from the Roadster as you can get. It's about as close to a custom chopper as you can get straight from the factory. It looks amazing, but how does it ride?

I've ridden my brother's heritage and Fatboy a bunch over the years but never really cared for either one. Not my thing...but a buddy gave me a great deal on his 2013 72 and now it's all I want to ride..love this bike!

Nice video. I've got a metallic red '72. Great around town, but you're right about the freeway. the skinny front tire is all over the lane you're riding in. BTW, the engineers claim the '72 is not for the year 1972, but rather Route 72 in East Los Angeles where the inspiration came from, lot's of chrome and metallic paint jobs. People always think it's a custom made bike.....

That being said, you shouldn’t use the apostrophe in front of the number 72, as that adds to the confusion surrounding the name.

He's got it all wrong. It's the best bike I've enjoyed my 2012 for almost 8 years. Best bang for the buck you'll find !! Wouldn't sell mine !!!

I own one in lucky green. 90 on it is wild. You just hang on and hope for the best. I have a few screws loose I suppose. Your video had me crankin up the whole time by the way!

I own one and I've flown down the highway at 110 mph on it on multiple occasions. It's not as sketchy as you'd think.

I was doing 90 mph on mine the other day. It's great on the straights but definitely wobbly in the curves (I have a '03 1200 custom bobbed out with 18" apes and a pan seat like in the thumbnail)

When and came back Los Angeles to Canada zero issues slap a different seat came just as sore as my fellow softail rider yamaha criser rider..
