SHOW REVIEW: Saw I AM MORBID last night devils. Honestly it was better than I expected , the hired gun guitarists did well, BUT they weren’t high enough in the mix in my opinion. Pete Sandoval is still a legend and FOR THE MOST PART David Vincent does a pretty good job on the vocals.HOWEVER , Vincent’s stage banter and getup is a total joke, bisexual cowboy Elvis acting like a big fuzzy teddy bear talking about family and cracking jokes. Worst of all, he adds these ridiculous operatic vocals over certain parts of CLASSIC altars songs , completely taking you out of the experience. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth , cause if you’re gonna cover the more talented band member’s songs while he’s not there, at least do them justice and don’t make them a joke brah😔. Also the I AM MORBID merch table was a complete joke , you can buy DV’s book or a signed picture of him looking like a Motley Crue cover band frontman 😂. Many think because if they like the band more, that automatically equates to them being the band who headlines a tour or is more "popular". Sure, Cannibal may have "more Spotify listeners" but they don't sell as many albums or as big of venues as Meshuggah do. There was online complaints about Testament opening for Lamb of God in 2013. The whole "it should be the other way around" argument" doesn't help anyone's case. If that actually happened, most would leave after LoG defeating the purpose of the other way around. There are few exceptions if you do your homework but MOST big tours and shows have have the band who sells the most tickets and albums as a headliner. What one perceives as quality is irrelevant when it comes to tour booking.

I feel like Testament is still putting out great albums to this day. They may have a few not so great albums, but they overall stayed the course, unlike Hetfield and his boys did. I'd enjoy the Testament so so, albums like LOW and DEMONIC WAAAAAY more than Tallica's double load shot and S&M. Any day of the week. Regarding the 90s output.

Legacy is by far the Heaviest Testament album. Testament started getting mellow with Practice What You Preach, which sounds just like Metallica. Souls of Black was a weak phoned in burned out boring Record contract obligatory filler trash. Low bites, Demonic, and the Gathering were decent. But like Exodus , Grave etc it's time these grandpas give up the ghost. It's gotten ridiculous

@ that’s my point every metalhead hits a threshold. I’m an old guy so my threshold is lower than some. For me Cryptopsy’s None so vile is about as extreme sounding as I enjoy. I love that record but anything more sonically heavier or intense it just sounds like a wall of noise to me. I need to emphasize sonically. I’m not talking about lyrically or thematically. The actual sound of the thing.
