ram truck interior build quality and nvh isolation are class leading. have owned 2 ram 1500 crew cab pickups from new since 2010 and logged 100k miles on both....the only rattle i have ever heard in my ram truck came from the mints in an altoids tin.

Our work truck is 2015 ram 3500, 230k Miles. Most impressive truck shit I’ve ever seen I actually experienced in this truck... Towed 20k (Gator trailer, 7 tons of sand, skid steer, a pool kit, and a truck bed full of tools) up a needle thin gravel/dirt mountain side. If you’ve ever been on a mountain side, especially in TN then you know how steep those road can be. Truck pulled the weight like it was nothing. One day the clutch fan went out and we were given a new F250... we only towed 14k I believe but it was a night and day difference. No ass on the ford. We ended up just using a friends older cummins.

the rebel is where its at this viedo only shows part of it. I've owned two chevy trucks and both had room for much to be desired. Furthermore, at the present, current GM trucks are really lacking and disappointing in the overroad department, other than the coming ZR2. Current GM fullsize trucks only offer a somewhat visual offroad package: shocks, z71 stickers and now some decorative rollbar. I'm a chevy guy making the move over to the rebel, its got everything I'm looking for, seriously, how many trucks nowadays still have a steel bumper front and rear??

As a Rebel owner and Im sure Raptor owners feel the same, its just nice to own a truck that isn't common everywhere on the road. You might see one or two of either in the duration of a week, the rare factor is pretty cool on top of it already being a great truck.

Toyota Tundra uses an open "C" channel frame from under the cab till the tail end. It only uses a boxed frame in the front engine compartment. Toyota has said that this is to provide a smoother ride for its passengers since the frame will twist and flex to absorb road harshness. The big 3 use fully boxed frames which are way stronger but translate to stiffer/ harsher rides. The big 3 sell more trucks than Toyota. I guess sales really dictate what the customer wants.

I have a 2016 Rebel and honestly, Ram has won a customer for life so long as the quality stays where it's at. I have 40,000 miles on it and it's great. I have a 68 mile commute each way, and the truck is fantastic on road, and handles off road stuff alright too. I also get about 18mpg, even on curvy mountain roads.

Sure, but the GMC/Chevy transmissions are crap compared to Ram's excellent 8 speed. For the record, I just went from a Sierra to a Ram so I have experience with both. The Ram's drivetrain is way better than the clunky transmission I had in the GMC.

well in this video I think that the Silverado took the victory. I personally test drove both trucks and I chose the Silverado over the Rebel because of the cab room and durability. Even the Rebel was lower priced. The true saying is "you lease a Dodge truck and buy a Chevy truck". Although I will admit it is easier to customize the Rebel than the Silverado.

I live in LA (traffic nightmare capital of u.s) and for all the reasons the Silverado got bashed on is the reasons im getting one. That stiff, lower, tighter suspension (improves frame responding to braking with less body roll) less bouncy is what makes it agile and comfortable enough to drive around In a LA street setting. No thanks on driving around a big bouncy un oriented loose feeling truck, maybe if i lived in open space like texas. Perfect for the city. Yet capable of taking u camping or on a trail to a river etc, dont need to be bouncing the heck out of your personal truck thats why u bring razrs or atvs or maybe a project jeep 4x4
@kellyjensen9425
@kellyjensen9425 7 жыл бұрын
OGkush69 old comment but I absolutely agree with you. I'm from Utah, visit Cali often. You have to have great brakes living in LA. Even though Cali is considered so green It's really not a place for most hybrids. You not only have to have great brakes but something that accelerates quickly. Driving our Volt just felt like abuse when on engine only. At first I hated LA drivers, and then I noticed that if you slam on your brakes the guy tailgating will slam on his just as hard and fast. After you realize you're not going to get hit from behind and that leaving a safe distance in front is rude, because it just gets filled, driving becomes a lot more comfortable. In Utah if I slam on my brakes the guy behind me needs more than the average safe distance. I cringe my teeth every time traffic comes to a halt. Now I will say just straight up traffic violations are absurd in LA. People driving into oncoming traffic, cutting across 4 lanes to make a right hand turn, that sort of thing.

I give the off-road edge to the Ram. At least it has smaller 17" diameter rims and proper 33" A/T tires, scalloped bumper, and a rear LSD, but it falls short by not offering a rear locker, and no underbody protection. The Chev Z71 is little more than an appearance package.

but you will have people who live and die by the z71 name regardless of how subpar it may appear compared to other brands. Also ironic that you say it isn't best offroad and will be spent mostly off road because people have a tendency to put big lifts and stretched mud tires on 20+ inch wheels and will never see the dirt.

I see chevy changed the front design of the Silverado- the previous was not all that appealing. I am a fan of the smooth gm V8 power train. Not much of a dodge fan but the rebel appears to have a nice, well thought out exterior design as well suspension. Several dodge vehicles that you have driven on your program have struck interest - seems mopar build quality and design aspects have improved.
