But for its nearly six-figure price tag, we were hoping for a bit more performance and speed out of the Porsche. What do you think? You know we live in crazy times when a 4.8 0-60 in a n SUV in't "considered" fast. EV's have most definitely changed the game. I still have a 2001 Mercedes ML55 which has a 6.4 0-60 time and it still feels pretty quick. I can remember when it was considered crazy fast SUV aside. Good stuff.

You're comparing a Porsche to a Hyundai, please reread that. There is a massive difference in not only the status of the brand, and public perception, but hell even the buying and ownership experience. Go to any Porsche dealer and then a Hyundai dealer to see the difference. The Hyundai in this case is massively overpriced from non-enthusiast perspective. I think they're great, but not at nearly $70K.

A Hyundai Ioniq 5N is on a much higher level in terms of driving dynamics than a Macan, which costs $25,000 more; the Ioniq 5N is on a par with the Taycan Turbo. Any reputable tester will tell you that, and I say that as a Porsche fan. But you seem to spend your life in the Porsche showroom. If that's worth so much to you, buy the entry-level Porsche.

I drove the Ioniq on track and on the streets, i can only speak about my experience with a Macan 4s and a Taycan Turbo s, but both are leagues above in terms of quality and driving dynamics. The ioniq is a great car, a really really great car but not on the same level.

I went to a porsche track event and got to drive a 911t, cayman gts, cayenne S, macan gts, taycan, and macan EV 4. The macan EV was shockingly good. Everybody I was there with got out of it and was like “whoa that thing is awesome” The interior and driving experience definitely justify the price tag. If anything it was better than the taycan. Cayenne S, 911T, and macan EV stole the day. The cayman, gas macan, and taycan were just kinda blah compared to those cars.

I am not a bot, and it’s not that slow. I drove the gas cars first, so it was pretty in line with the power of the macan gts. Had been driving model 3 performances before it, yeah it probably would have felt slow. Interior and driving feel is way better than tesla though. It actually feels like an expensive car. Much nicer than a gas macan.

Sport Chrono package with Michelin Primacy tires? The tires are the reason the acceleration, handling and braking was average. Just change the tires for PS4s and im sure that every metric will a lot better, except range. It would probably make 308 miles like it supposed to.

I drive a Mustang Mach-E GT, and I don’t understand this obsession with speeding away from the traffic light. Are we all stuck in high school? I enjoy looking around at things when I drive, which includes the other traffic on the road. And if we’re being honest, we’re mostly going to Costco and Starbucks-slow down and enjoy the ride.

I was going to type this very same thing so thank you for saving me the trouble. These car reviewers sound so stupid complaining that a car that you are not going to be driving on the German AutoBahn doesn't do 0-60 in sub 4 seconds. I drive a Chevy Equinox EV that goes way slower than this does and that car still has more speed than I really need. If I had the budget, I would get the Macan and I promise you I would never complain that it was too slow. I would be complaining about the price as I have always felt that all Porsches are overpriced. Why should their EVs be any different?

Enthusiasts have always tended to enjoy the feel of acceleration while the younger folks growing up now seem to like "noise and sound". Safety is always paramount but there are plenty of people who accelerate quickly while never having accidents vs daydreamers who never see the objects around them. It comes down to situational awareness and the seriousness of driving.

It looks like Porsche did a good job with the EV Macan, except for the high price. But as with the Taycan, I don't think that their goals were to compete with Tesla on value. But instead, they are looking to appeal to traditional Porsche customers moving from gas to an EV. So it was a solid effort, and it is better that it came out well, as opposed to coming out a few years ago, but being buggy. But the trouble for Porsche is that the EV market is advancing quickly. And the pricing puts the Macan up against the Tesla Model X Plaid, and Lucid Gravity, which are both over achievers. And the new Model Y Performance and Ioniq 5N will steal Macan sales, even if Porsche and their fans don't consider them as competition.

I love the Porsche brand. Even the EV’s. Unfortunately all manufactured have to deal with the elephant in the room, Tesla. For 60k new and less than 35k used, you get a lot of car that performs. It’s funny when reviews gripe about the lack of features. Until recently, the 3 or Y didn’t have ventilated seats or surround view cams.

Just test drove a Macan 4 EV two days ago. $109,000 for a car still 3+ years behind my 2020 Model Y. People talk about Tesla quality issues but this brand new Porsche was missing the rear wiper blade, the foot swipe hatch opener didn't work and the electric seat release was inoperable too.

More than the price, the performance is what's keeping me from ordering a Macan EV 4. Compared to modern EV's, the acceleration is pokey. I didn't know about the lackluster braking, but that appears to be corrected with the Macan 4S which has the brakes from the Turbo. However, the range of the 4s is poor at 288 miles. The Macan is smaller than my Model X, much slower than the Model X, has a larger battery than the Model X, has two fewer seats, is more expensive than the Model X, but offers shorter range. I don't get it. Problem is, I am unloading my life of everything Tesla, already sold my Model Y, bought a Rivian R1S, am selling my Model X and really want the Porsche to sit next to the R1 in the garage. I wish the Macan 4 were better. Looking forward to getting any info on the 4S. There is nothing yet on KZbin or anywhere on that version of the Macan EV.

Definitely something I won't mind eyeing used as long as it comes with PTV Plus (Macan 4S minimum )and extended warranty can still be purchased. Rear wheel steering option would be great to have too. Then hopefully sell before battery pack needs replacing. Porsche Canada only covers to 120,000 km instead of industry standard of 160,000 though.
