Adam Savage’s Tested

Күн бұрын

Adam's latest prop build is a replica of Star-Lord's Walkman from Guardians of the Galaxy! This is a styrene scratch build using some of Adam's favorite modelmaking materials and techniques. And a few firsts for a One Day Build--the use of a vinyl cutter for the logos, as well as a minor injury mid-build!

Dice Punk lmao, that’s why i love watching adam build or create anything. he gets so genuinely excited and adam’s love for the machines, materials, and tools he owns/amassed over the years really shows. he’ll explain how it all works in an easy way for most viewers to understand. he also has learned to genuinely be proud of his work, which for a lot of people is hard.. as we all critique ourselves so hard, lol. always have looked up to him, all around just a good ass person.

@Spazza42
@Spazza42 3 жыл бұрын
@@BTVRhoenrad That’s not the point of character. His Walkman was given to him by his mother who made mixtapes of all the songs she listened to growing up so he could experience them as well, it’s his childhood connection to her. If he wanted a functioning Walkman he’d have been better off buying a real one, not building one. The Zune is only relevant because it was intended as a gift from Yondu. It was given during a moment of clarity of who his real dad was, and to replace his conveniently broken Walkman. MP3’s have nothing to do with it aside from giving a prop a function, even though an MP3 player would be a pointless cost.

@@AlasdairGR Depends. To me, most people talk too slowly and aren't economical with time, i can speed them up by 25-50% and it would still be fine, especially if they aren't conveying any information that is too challenging to process. Of course there are opposites, the guy doing biotech and physics science videos at The Thought Emporium, who i wish spoke on average 20% slower, but unfortunately time-stretching audio never works quite as well as time-compressing it. And sure, the sound is never entirely natural, but it is more intelligible than for example text-to-speech voice synthesis. You'll just get used to it. Double speed tends to be a bit borderline and sometimes you have to rewind.

@E_y_a_l
@E_y_a_l 5 жыл бұрын
@@-CLASSIFIED- No it didn't, the basis of your comment is just wrong, he didn't lost any money and didn't spent any of "his own time" by creating the prop, this is his job, just like other successful youtubers who are creating content and making money out of it, this is what he does for a living, you wouldn't comment in a pewdiepie video about him losing money and spending "his own time" by creating his videos, right? What we see in the video is a man working, yes, he's having fun and likes what he does, but it's still his job, the only difference between him and someone working in an office or a factory is that Adam got a camera pointed at him. He can't justify spending $400 for the working walkman, that doesn't contradict justifying EARNING money by creating a prop, in one case he losses money, in the other case he earns it, so there's no contradiction, he made the obvious and right choice. You wanted to compliment him, I get that, but your statement was wrong, don't hate me for correcting you.

rockstarTraveler he knows he will make more than $400 from KZbin on this video. It’s a win-win-win-win situation to make this fantastic custom prop. No brainer. He probably took the profit and bought the Walkman anyways, because who wouldn’t want the original Sony Walkman. It’s a rare important historic cultural technology and music piece that will only appreciate in value. He made something from scratch that created both joy, video content, a cool prop, and profit which invested in a collectable becomes a longterm growth financial asset.
