Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Perfect, deliberate and clear explanation of what you’re doing and the issues involved. Turns out I’ve been slowly toxic gassing myself and my passengers via the air vents, due to a broken injector seal with fuel spraying the engine. Now I’ve just got to find out what, if any, damage has been done, health-wise!

I used this video today and it helped me massively, so thanks mate, much appreciated! Quick question: The black solid plastic pipe under the air box that runs from front to rear and appear to connect to the radiator, it's dead centre of the screen as you start your video. What is it? I may have damaged mine and need to source a replacement.

Thanks for the feedback, I am glad the video helped you. The pipe you asked about is the turbo output pipe, it goes between the turbo and the intercooler.

Helped me to find where the damn injectors were. I know the f9q engine as have a Vivaro. Pig to work turbo on and this engine seems worse. All whilst reaching in through letterbox sized bonnet opening.

Glad it helped

I sometimes feel the same. But truth be told the "letterbox sized bonnet opening" in spite of being rather annoying. One should keep in mind that's for the really basic stuff. Oil and coolant check, air filter, etc. The design intention is to disassemble the front, for ANY major intervention! That certainly imply a space to work. So not the most friendly to do on the side of the road. But like I said that's not the intention anyway. Curiously, it's way easier than it sounds! With a cordless impact driver and some rather basic tools (10&13mm socket, 2xTorx, screw driver). I can have it all out in less than 15 minutes, headlights included and such! From that point on, it's easier to work on, than ANY normal car! Surprising, to some I guess! These vans are among the easiest vehicles I've touched for maintenance or repairs! Considering it's size and weight it's quite surprising. Ex: This past week after a Toyota Yaris springs/struts, top bearing... intervention. Then came the Renault Trafic only needed top bearing, but the all lot as to come off. Just like in the Yaris. Curiously both from 2007. Guess which one was the easiest to work?! Yep, the Trafic! ;)

Hi mate great video I’ve managed to test the 2 on the passenger side and both are showing 181 which is great but I can’t get at the other 2 as there is a black cover over them I’ve taken all the bolts out but can’t shift the cover! Any tips? Thanks
@TfautomotiveUk3 жыл бұрын
Is it the breather box? Held on with 8mm bolts?
@tomosdavies23533 жыл бұрын
@@TfautomotiveUk no mate the box is off it’s the smaller cover directly on top of the injectors
@TfautomotiveUk3 жыл бұрын
The only plastic directly above injectors is the breather oil separator. This is held on with 9 X 8mm headed bolts and a pipe held on with clip. (2 of the bolts are hidden at the rear of the box, one of these is close to where the pipe is) Hope that helps)

I have a P203 injector 3 open circuit. Checked the wiring all readings 180kohms back at the ecu plug. So I decided to replace the injector, all good for a week and then the fault came back. Tried a different ecu same fault code. Tried a different injector plug. Any idea what could be causing this? Does it have to be electrical issue or could it be fuel related or something else? Many thanks
@TfautomotiveUk Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I can't really comment on particular faults without carrying out actual tests. Hope you get it sorted.

@@TfautomotiveUk hi, thanks for the reply . Can I ask what sort of tests you would carry out?
@TfautomotiveUk Жыл бұрын
Would depend on the fault code and what live data indicated. Is the fault permanent or intermittent? Load testing wiring, wiggle test wiring, pin pull out test etc Each test depends on the results of previous tests.
@Hammy135 Жыл бұрын
@@TfautomotiveUk it was intermittent and I could clear it by unplugging the ecu and plugging it back in again. And it was fine for a week or so. It seems to be permanent now. One thing I did notice which I found very unusual was the ohms readings would fluctuate when the injector pipe was wiggled and go open circuit but I could mess around with the plugs and wiring and get no change . All the injectors did this but number 3 was the only one I could get to go open. Couldn’t get my head around that one. I appreciate the help. The van will be going to the scrappies if I can’t sort it myself

@@TfautomotiveUk hello, me again. If I suspect the ecu plug as the issue is there anyway of breaking down the connector so I can renew the terminals? I can see a blue pull out lever on the plug but can’t see how to separate it. Many thanks

@@TfautomotiveUk managed to make one but realised most multimeters are not like yours mine has settings for ohms but I have to choose between the options what setting would I use it on to get a reading like yours please I was getting readings but not in the same way yours was showing it, thanks for the reply
