Try the 175 Sierra Match King the work great in a 308 Win and you can get decent velocities.

Been working with Vihtavuori N540. Great velocity and good Accuracy. Ruger precision Rifle with 20" barrel 1:10 twist (2516fps ES/21.7fps & SD/11.9fps) @ 42.4 grs. .687 group@100 yards)(33 deg)(41.3%)(27.62psi) so far need to do a seating depth testing. Extreme newbie at reloading

Where are you getting 178gr AMAX? I don't think Hornady makes them anymore..... My favorite bullet too..😅

Loaded 43.3 gr. 4064 with 24'' barrel and the EC Tuner,150 gr Hornady SST for my hunting loads.1/4 MOA

With the 178 hollow point my rifle liked 43.0 grains IMR-4064. With CFE-223 47 grains gave me 2880fps

@ surprisingly not. I just kept going up .2 until pressure then backed off .5. I have a great 169 smk load that gets me 2970 fps my fav because the cost is 175 barns match with 46 223 = 2850fps
