I have had a lot of these novelty toasters. They are fun to give as presents because they are relatively cheap and fun for fans of certain movies and shows but I have never had one that I could use as an everyday toaster. I like getting them as gifts anyway because they look nice. I am so mad I didn't get in on the star trek pizza cutter when I had the chance!
@compzac
@compzac 3 жыл бұрын
Yea weirdly ive had the same experience with the novelty toaster stuff, they usually dont work very well, especially the logo burning stuff, but ive even had them just fail at being toasters, like one that just like his it would toast one time perfect, but if you dared try to make another run of toast it would just spin the wheel of fish as to what ti would do, sometimes going way too dark, like on the road to charcoal, or it would run for 3 seconds and shut off, and that was with the knob still being in the same spot.

Without having seen them in real life, it seems your "normal" chopsticks are of the small disposable kind you get for free at sushi restaurants and the light saber ones, while a bit thick at the top, seems pretty normal sized.

I think the issue is that since the toaster is hot after using it, the heat sensor fires off sooner, which makes the bread go out sooner. _I guess_
@compzac
@compzac 3 жыл бұрын
@@yocapo32 Most toasters used in the home dont use temperature to determine toast done-ness they just use time, and they tend to compensate for a hot toaster by just subtracting time, which may be what this ones issue was, the big issue is that these novelty toaster type toasters are just novelties and they use really crappy toaster circuits, like worse than a 9 dollar walmart toaster, and ive had some that run the gambit of not working right. Like one i had it would make 1 set of toast just fine, but if you dared to try and make more without unplugging it and letting it cool down completely, it would either make toast charcoal, or it would gently breathe warm air on the toast for 3 seconds and then shut off, generally a rule ive noticed is that any appliance with a novelty theme to it is gonna be worse than or at least more expensive than an equivalent appliance.

That chaos and whatnot is exactly what you will get with any air-popper. Same with the number of unpopped kernals since the ejection method until there's less contents inside is the popping of seeds forcing the stuff around it to move away which naturally throws out both seeds and popped seeds.

Oh, I know this one! I have an Hello Kitty toaster (shut up, it was a present) and the cut out plate with the shape shields the bread from the heat so you can get inconsistent toasting. The trick to have a darker toast, you run it once on empty to warm it up and then a second time with the bread while the toaster is still kinda hot!

I bought a pair of "Chop Sabers" at thinkgeek a few years ago. They don't light up like what was shown in this video. The overall diameter is smaller, much closer to a regular pair of chopsticks. If you're at all shy in public, you'd probably want to leave them at home since they tend to attract attention
@FrozenUSA

I just got the chopsticks yesterday and immediately tried them out. They work exactly as you describe. They work to me as good as regular chopsticks until you have eaten with them for a little bit and then they become more slippery and have a harder time gripping food. They are cool to use though. I’m disappointed that I’ll have to take off the stickers to change the batteries eventually but I’m hoping I don’t have to change the batteries for a good long while. I prefer the blue ones to the red ones. If you go into the purchase of these chopsticks knowing they are just cool to have and use and not fancy sushi restaurant quality then $15 for two pair is very reasonable.

I feel these Star Wars small appliances are of show piece than functional. Although the mini slow cooker would worked as it should, I may actually get that. I already gave two large capacity slow cookers.
