I have 5 diesel heaters, I use one to heat my vehicle all winter long so I never have a cold truck or have to scrape ice/snow, I have one that heats my enclosed porch on demand-that one I duct the exhaust through an old cast iron steam radiator and recover approximately 10,000 btu's of free waste heat everyone else just ducts into the environment. Sometimes I heat a container of water with it, other times I cook on it. I also have a diesel heater in my garage connected to a steam radiator and it is very useful for drying boot and gloves as well as for frying burgers and hot dogs. Obviously I have a pipe that brings the cooled exhaust glasses outside-believe it or not the temp of that exhaust is below 90 degrees and doesn't stink like diesel fumes. After 2 years of running them I've had no buildup or moisture issues which is crazy.

Hey with this HCalory heater in this black box having big vent holes (the cheap metal grates over them), do you think I could just keep the intake in the box itself or do I really really need to run it out of the box? I can't imagine the airflow is restricted in the box with the vents...but I'm not an expert on these things.

What's the best ducting for the output air to the tent? I'm a touch worried the flexible stuff doesn't expand to a full 3" and creates back pressure. I have some flexible stuff with PVC on the outer layer and I'm not sure how proper it is for handling the heat. I love that it compresses down tho. Any thoughts now that you've been doing it for a while?

That fuel symbol button should be a "Primer" button. It runs the fuel pump until it gets to the furnace. That way you don't have that long wait for the first start up. After that you don't need it unless the fuel line takes on air due to running it dry. Glow plugs do not like running dry for long.

Seems like a nice kit, however the price (£300 on banggood, and that's their "sale" price) is rather pricey for what it is: i.e. a standard 5kW heater kit in a briefcase. I guess you pay for the convenience of having it as a portable pre-assembled all-in-one. Even so, I would consider it as a viable option if I didn't already have a diesel heater. Thanks for showing it off Nathan.

you can buy it in the U.K for £158 now but with the price of Diesel going up it won't be that cheap to run sadly , but still cheaper than using an Electric heater

Hi, Good video. I also do videos, but I generally focus on the product's workmenship and quality of the parts. I do not often do unboxing or assembly. I'd like to link your video so that others can see how you did yours. Now most will already know how to assemble it but since the booklet that came with mine had nothing to do with the unit that I have I'd like to make sure potential buyers have a place to get this information. anyway, just wanted to make sure that it was okay with you to link your video.

@@uptowndisco2 that makes no sense. It has a separate exhaust and combustion air lines as well as a supply and return air duct. If they had flipped them around it would have made it easier to slip the exhaust outside away from the return air duct

Thanks I was just about to order one of these, and never noticed the exhaust and heat output coming out of the front. TOTAL deal breaker, I understand you could reroute the exhaust out of the back but when you have to customize you may as well get the base unit and do it yourself. Plus the fuel line is that squidgy green soft stuff (to be replaced) I also have a concern about the temperature of the internal exhaust, even with the insulation on. All in all I am going to give this a miss. Thanks.
