Perfect thumbnail, makes me laugh before the video even starts. Looks like everyone's having fun.

This is awesome! I learned how to drift on a very similar surface. There was an old warehouse they tore down in my hometown and all that was left was the finished concrete, I learned more about car control at that spot than any amount of track days ever could have taught me.

This is exactly what I've been dreaming of. Tire wear as if you're driving in the wet but drive in the dry so you can drive the entire day. Before watching the video I have 1 prediction. The thing that may destroy tires is the heat of constantly hotlapping the track. They may not lose tread, but it'll still be a good idea to bring 2 pairs and heat cycle them instead of running 140 laps back to back.

In theory if friction creates heat and there’s very low friction, there should be less heat as well

One thing I noticed about the layout though is that you probably need to space out transitions a bit. It's hard to do good tandem when you're constantly making transitions, this increases your time going straight. You probably need longer corners with spaced out transitions which will allow more door time/time at angle instead of transition time/driving straight time.

Fantastic course tour you two. This looks mega fun. Assetto + rain anyone?

This is interesting. I wonder if this would be easier or more difficult as a beginner drifter
@dikkodikko626218 күн бұрын
easier, you have a little more time to react and can more easily identify what you do wrong
@LoneStarDrift18 күн бұрын
way easier I think, it slows everything way down and lets you do everything with intention and for the teaching person to pick out every motion and explain it.

Thats sick what is the point of it being polished though? Will laying rubber down on it after a few drift events ruin the track?
@YoSuey18 күн бұрын
I think the owner just renovated it, so they don't want it too grippy and marked up before the new season starts next year.

we put flour on top of it to try and keep the rubber from laying down. hopefully we don't ruin it! this is an experiment

Why not just rent a water truck and wet down the track every 2-4 runs.
