TESTING ADVANCED ELECTRONICS MX PRO 5 PANEL | APOLLO MCP | FIRE ALARM DEMO

In this video I show a demo on testing an Apollo Intelligent XP95/Discovery manual call point (new style MCP 2017) on an Advanced Electronics MX5000 / MXPRO 5 panel.
It is nice a simple but firstly you need the correct test / reset key, user access code or key and read the manufacturers instructions.
Step 1: Press the manual call point and the inside part will flip and tilt
Step 2: Insert the key in the front and turn so the inside part flips back to normal
Step 3: Make sure the access level code or key is activated
Step 4: Press Silence/Resound
Step 5: Press Reset

Was there a hochiki system networked to the mx pro 5. Just i herd hochiki sounder bases before the apollo stuff went off and completly deafaned the hochiki stuff. That's if im right.

Could be a number of things. Usually that means the head isn't registering so it's been removed or the base could be a little iffy. Is that the only fault?

Hi Justin. The panels do have a default password but it can be changed which is what often happens. I do not want to release the engineer password because a user who hasn't understanding of a panel can really do some damage on a life safety system. However, feel free to ring the manufacturer - web link below. If the engineer has locked out the panel you can re-commission it but a new maintenance company would have to do this. It can be an easy task depending on how big the system is. www.advancedco.com/

Dans the Engineer I work for Johnson Controls as a Electrical systems specialist for our Simplex Fire alarms and we have taken over the contract for the facility and to be honest this is the first time I've ran into this particular panel, mainly because here in the states Simplex is the most advanced so generally all large facilities run on our systems but we are expensive so from time to time I run into smaller panels like this one. Any way, the company before us is giving me a hard time about accessing the panel cause they lost the contract and say they lost the password, so now I need to find away around it. So your saying I should be able to contact Advanced and they will be able to get me in?

That happens A LOT over here! Advanced can't just get you in because usually you need that engineer code regardless but speak to Advanced and see what they say. Tell them you have taken over the system and the previous maintenance company will not provide the engineer code. Whenever we have come across this, it hasn't been large systems at all so we just wiped it clean and re-commissioned which didn't take long. However, I can imagine that could take quite some time on a larger system!

There is a way to get in with out the code, you have to press a set of keys in the correct order and times that then gives you a code, then ring advanced and give them that code which they will give you a code back to allow you in to change the code.

Anyway can you help .I've got move a repeater panel which is wired to that firealarm panel.Now if I disconnect it and reconnect will it need reprogramming or will it be ok.I haven't done much work on addressable systems.Next question is I need to disable a few heads and reconnect on new ceiling.I probably need manual ,is it straight forward Regards Derek

@@derekgoodwin6646 in all honesty Derek you need someone who is familiar with the system because it is possible to disable it so the re-commissioning once it is moved is important. Drop me an email and I'll recommend a contractor for you [e-mail]

It can be easily moved and doesn't need re programming as long as you keep the network cables going to the exact same terminal they come out of.
