I did a combination of both recipes and it turned so salty that we couldn't eat it. Probably my fault but both videos lacked measurement of salt for the water. I didn't put salt on anything else but the water. At least some water/salt ratio would be useful than just saying "as salty as the sea"

Powdered Sugar actually does work a bit better in making whipped cream vs. granulated sugar. The cornstarch in the powdered sugar to help prevent clumping also helps to thicken the whipped cream.

When making a whipped cream or butter cream frosting, the difference in using granulated sugar vs powdered sugar is simply that sometimes the granulated sugar will fail to fully incorporate thus making the whipped cream have a gritty texture. Using powdered sugar usually ensures a smooth and sand free texture. Also, the ratio of egg whites in that jiggly Japanese cheese was definitely off, however even just the freshness of the eggs can effect the lack of or presence of an egg flavor.

Were I live in the caribean we have a very similar cake that we use for weddings that is called paindoux. But instead of wipped cream we fill it with guava jam and cover it in italian meringue it's so delicous😍

Angel food cake is by far my favorite cake of all time. My kids who are all now in their 20s love it too. I make one once a month. Had no idea it was considered "old fashioned".

Store bought angel food cake tastes nothing like homemade, mmmmm the crisp outside and chewy inside YUM 😋 I worked in a nursing home for years and couldn’t believe that diabetics could eat angel food cake ( not the whole thing) I am sorry but that one they made had NO crisp outside, the best part!

I once made Alton Brown's angel food cake and the only problem I had was trying to figure out what to do with all those leftover yolks. It was really good. I haven't tried this version yet.

I think you want an ungreased pan more for the ability of the batter to climb the side, less so for the issue of falling out of the pan. What you have is a bundt pan, Claire is using a tube pan, two different pans.

With heavily egg based desserts, to reduce the eggy flavour you need to wait for them to fully cool. Like, absolutely not even slightly warm cooled. I guess the issue with the jiggly cheesecake is that they tend to solidify of collapse by then.

You should makr molotov! It's a 'cake' made ONLY of egg whites, sugar and caramel, yum! Then usually toped with a yolk curso and toasted almonds, but you can Fitch those!

In my attempts to use egg-based recipes to utilize the three dozen eggs our chickens give us every week I did this exact recipe; my mom even had an angel food cake pan! So I was super excited to see someone else try this recipe. Yours looks like it came out perfectly; I was really surprised to see it slip out of the tube pan you used with such ease. Also; how the actual oatmeal pancakes did you keep raspberries in edible condition for TWO WEEKS

I've made angel food cake twice now. I like it. I might have messed it up a little tbh, but it still tasted good. And it does need the whipping cream imo. I wouldn't make it all the time coz a lot of egg whites. I only make it after accumulating a boat load of egg whites after making ice-cream. I have to confess though, that I don't use the proper pan. I use my spring form pan with a tin foil wrapped cylinder in the middle, it might not be perfect but it still tastes good

Hi, from the uk. I made angel cake for the first time last night, I’ve never had it before so I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know what cake flour was so I had to make it, a lot of work goes into it... like the recipe I followed called for you to use granulated sugar, but blend it... I would have just used icing sugar or caster sugar which are obviously a lot finer than granulated sugar, but I didn’t want it to throw the weight off. It worked I was really surprised I got it right... my recipe never called for any topping or anything so I wasn’t sure, do you usually cover it with something? Like it’s really sweet as it is... is it a big thing in America? Because to me it’s very sweet but boring? Like for the amount of work that goes into it I was expecting it to blow my socks off

My husband’s favorite cake. And the store bought cakes aren’t a touch on home made. Buy the 2-part pan if you don’t have one. I got mine at a yard sale.
