When we talk about having a large neck and sleep apnea, I used to have that problem. Losing weight helps a ton but I’ve found a few additional things that also have a massive impact. Finding a way to tilt your body 5-10 degrees so your head and shoulders are above your feet makes a giant difference - this could be by body pillows or a specialty pad/pillow. Many ways to do this. Taping the mouth shut at night is super helpful. I know it sounds silly that taping the mouth shut at night has changed my life but it has. Ensures diaphragmatic breathing, better sleep cycles, and my thoracic spine/ribs feel so much better on a day to day basis. Don’t feel like I need as much sleep. Just some things to try out.

I second the mouth taping. Here's another thing to think about. How is the air quality in your bedroom? When was the last time you changed your air/HVAC filters? Vacuumed? Dusted? From my experiences allergens play a huge part on how we sleep. For example when allergens are high in your room (Dust or pollen or other particles like PM 2.5) it causes your nasal passages to be congested and makes it hard to nasal breathe. This results in having to open your mouth to breathe while sleeping especially for children. Keep this in mind and monitor the air quality in your room. Your dreams will thank you. Train hard!

Keep the videos coming! You've been inspirational to me to add running back into my training and not being afraid to do both and i think my health has improved because of it. Plus it's been fun watching my running improve so dramatically without losing any strength. Keep up the good work Pete!

Keep up the good work! Your right on track👍. As some who is 58 and lifted my whole life you always want to be as strong as you can. I have never taken any peds. when I was younger they just where not as available and the knowledge wasn’t there as it is now. I’m glad as I probably would have jumped on them. I used to love running but my knees won’t take it anymore but fortunately cycling has replaced it. I probably hit my peek strength at around 35yrs age. I was able to bench 315 for 3 reps at a body weight of 180. Now at 58 I’m probably good for about 290 at a body weight of 190. I’m taking it slow but I’m pushing for a 300lb bench on my 60th birthday. Love your channel and your new healthy approach. Your balance of strength and fitness in my opinion is spot on. Keep up the good work!

And after that doing one bb show then like you dropping mass to have a healthier life post put all this stress on my body. I don’t watch all your videos but I remember one where you talked about have a ugl sponsor and it had me wonderin if it was my go to srx from when I started. Keep up with the journey brother

As for the videos some people need to see something happening, most fitness videos are people talking over them as they train or even if its a video of your training in the background at the side of the screen as you talk like you have been doing. Your interviews are also really good and interesting!

Pete, have you heard of androgen receptor CAG repeat? Apparently guys with a lower CAG repeat are more sensitive to testosterone and guys with a higher CAG repeat are less sensitive to testosterone and need more. Its part of why some guys feel great with a test level of 400 or 500 while others don't, or why one guy might feel great taking 100mg a week while someone else might need 200mg to acheive symptomatic relief.

theres something to be said for people who want to be as strong as possible. alot of us think that theres no point in living if we dont pit ourselves against other people to prove our strength to want to be the strongest on the planet. to take it away would be to take away the point of living.

The best part about powerlifting is its 100% valid to be like, I'm just trying to get as strong as possible at this body weight. Or, hit a high dots as a fat fuck, lean out, and keep the dots. Honestly, I don't know why more people don't go the lean shredded, but like to lift heavy route. I'm talking like rock climber lean, but just prefers lifting heavy. I've seen it a few times with ROTC college lifters who have to stay lean for the military. Also, have you tried adding some gymnastics (the static lifts, front levers, back levers, shoulder levers, l-sits and progressions to do therm) to your training if you really want to have some fun. The static exercises from gymnastics complement powerlifting REALLY, REALLY well. My bench has never felt better technically than after I could do l-sits.

I don't know some of the stuff like needed a CPAP or blood pressure i think is fairly genetics. I have had high blood pressure and snored really bad even at a young age. I was in great shape and low body fat. I was military, so even running 12-13 minutes two miles...i had high bp and snored Finally older use CPAP and bp meds Have good energy bp is ok , trt Still think I might try to stop trt at some point. Even though I concentrate on health, I want to have some strength and be able to jog a few miles if needed

Yeah I don't hate cardio, it's just more of a depressing thing when you realize all that mass you gained is so detrimental to cardio. I agree 100% with the hormonal profile being better when lean. Beyond that everything is just so much easier when leaner, more energy, quicker recovery/higher intensity is easier, higher rep compounds like squats are much more do able.

Pull the burger and bacon and replace it with chicken and I'll have one, but GFD the thing is still gonna be easily 600 calories. *On the subject, you did exactly what I had hoped you would which was tame the steroids, work on rebuilding your health, open a gym and start a family!* For a while I wondered wtf is he doing, then it all came to be. I still personally believe if you focus on the most athletic full body physique as possible then changing entirely for powerlifting, strongman etc. is the most ideal path. Look at Martins when he won TWSM then his major physique changes in the years since, regardless of the role the shoulder injury played at times. *I'm doing the latter as suggested, but you said it, I still want to be as big and strong as my genetics will allow, then go an obvious bit further through sheer will power!*

I think that's good because most people who go on it ends up going off. Unless for some reason(s) it really improved your life, you probably saved yourself some trouble. Coming from someone who went on and had to go off.
@TACT1LE Жыл бұрын
@@JeffO- why did you have to end up coming off?
@JeffO- Жыл бұрын
@@TACT1LE It caused bad anxiety/overstimulation that I couldn't tolerate. Also had acne. I was only taking 50mg too. I was a hyper responder to it, meaning it easily raised my T level, but I also had bad side effects. Strangely, a while after I came off, my T level went back up well into normal range. It was really low for years before that. To make a short story long.
