Your grip is too narrow. I'm pretty sure if you had you grip wider would've been easier, and less distance to travel. This was 1 rep max, so it wasn't for hypertrophy, so it doesn't matter if you used a wider grip. Next time try wider grip

I made some progress too. Started after watching this guys channel. In a year and a half I went from 140lbs to 215lbs at 6’4 I currently squat 3 plates deadlift a little over 3 plates and bench 2 plates. When I started I couldn’t bench the bar, do a push-up, pull-up, failed to squat even a plate, and couldn’t deadlift more than a plate and a half. Now I can bang out 13 strict pull-ups and can do 30 clap push-ups. Life is good Edit: been seven months, I hit 4 plate deadlift pretty easily, I can now raw ass to grass squat 3 plates (had a form rework from lowbar) could most likely hit 365lbs atg, and my bench is 265lbs still 215lbs, also just tested my mile run (never trained for it) and hit a 6:50.
@pastorofmuppets9346 Жыл бұрын
Not to be that guy but if you only bench 2 plates at 215 theres likely smth wrong. Esp since youre clearly not weak if you can do 13 pullups at that weight. I mean even i can bench 210 at 155 and i always sucked at it soooo bad. And i dont even train anymore just some half assed maintenance once a week, just checked my pr for fun a few weeks ago

170 kg squat at 6'4 is remarkable the rom is just crazy
@incrediesta Жыл бұрын
It’s very good but even though he is 6’4 his proportions are perfect for a squat. His upper body is almost straight up where a lot of people especially tall ones their upper body naturally has to practically face the ground. Wish I had his proportions. Why my max squat 130kg 😂 hate them honestly
@peppesgabello Жыл бұрын
@@incrediesta they're not perfect, he's just squatting high bar so his torso needs to be more upright. If he switches to low bar and widen the stance he can probably hit 180 or 190 easily. When you're tall and you have long femurs high bar squats are harder for your biomechanic, he keeps pushing his knees forward when he's at the bottom. Definitely needs to improve his technique, but he's a bit over 2xbw so anyway it's in the intermediate level. I've hit 140kg after 11 months of squatting starting from just the bar at 69bw, so 170kg at 83kg bw in 3y it's not that impressive but extremely realistic for most people. I think that he starts doing it 2/3x week he could get his squat to 200kg in half a year.

Am I the only one who just isn’t impressed with one rep maxes? Like, I don’t get what benefit your body is getting from doing 1 rep, besides risking injury for the sake of (let’s call it what it is), ego lifting. 3-5 reps or more and I’d be impressed, but for me, 1 reps do absolutely nothing, I don’t care how heavy the weight is.
@maxxd96 Жыл бұрын
It’s just a way to measure your top strength. A higher 1RM means you have improved since last time. Some people want to see how much they can lift, just like others want to run as fast as possible or jump as high as they can etc. Oh and the risk for injury in powerlifting is in fact much lower than many other sports.
