As an observer, the 280 looks like you've been playing with it for years. Everything looks fluid and natural, particularly on the serve and forehand. But only you know best. However, I can tell you from personal experience that the added weight, while desireable, becomes more difficult to maneuver as the calendar pages turn. Best wishes!

Excellent review. Many reviews just show the person playing with the racquet and then give some final opinions, many of which are difficult to understand. On your review, the real time play-by-play, stating your opinions as you play, made everything a lot more understandable. I could comprehend better the nuances of each racquet model. Great review, Nico. Looking foreward to more. Have you done other reviews on Wilson racquets, like the Blades or the Ultras? If not, it would be very interesting.

The RF 01 Future looks amazing in your hands. So much freedom in your shots. It's definitely a front runner with some customization. I recently switched to the Diadem Nova V3 100 from a Tecnifibre Tfight 305 RS and I didn't realize how much my game was being held back by a control frame. I'd love to see you try the Diadem Nova line, they have many different versions. (Including a 285g named the "V3 Team".

Great review, very close to my own experience. From all of the 3 rackets I like the most the regular 300g version. But the 280g Future is so good, it's a joy to use on every day coaching. It's great for easy hitting, feeding and just playing around. But whenever you need more from the racket to play points with juniors, it is there. It plays like a regular 290g-300g racket to be honest but it feels so light and easy to use it blows my mind. At first I didn't like the new RF's, but the more I played with them, the better they got. The Pro version is out of my range. 331 SW is too much. I like 315-320 SW rackets. Thanks for your honest review. 👏

Love the video! I got the RF 01 and the RF 01 Pro myself to play around and one thing I noticed is that it's worth it to string them a bit lower, the difference in sweet spot size and forgiveness feels significant to me. Nice review! Another way to balance to test is to do the same thing on another day and play it in reverse order. Going from light to heavy always throws my timing off more than going from heavy to light.

@oliverdesouza57413 ай бұрын
Great review especially the point play analysis. However, it is often very difficult to move from a light racket to a heavier one in such a short timeframe, without a period of mini-tennis or such like to adjust your timing. Without that, heavier rackets will feel clunky and hard to manoeuvre because you have got used to the timing with the lighter one. It's always better to start with the heavy racket, then go lighter.

I think one issue is that when you use the racket lines to play points, you start with the lowest weight. So when you switch to anything heavier, it’s going to feel much less maneuverable and harder to time. If I use my technifibre as the first racket of the day it feels fine. But when I use it after using my head extreme it feels way heavier. Love your videos though. You are a great coach and player!

Hey Nick, I've been following your racquet journey closely and really appreciate you explaining your thought process. It's very interesting to see that you liked the RF 01 Future, even though it's so different from the PD on paper. Same goes with your opinion on the EZONE despite that being so similar to the PD on paper. I looked at some players with similar racquet journeys (Hyper Hammer/PD), and also noticed they don't always switch to another power racquet. Not sure if you're still taking suggestions, I think the Head Radical MP is worth a shot, and is something I've seen players with similar taste switch to. It should have some of the same characteristics you like about the RF. The Extreme Pro/MP might also be a good fit. Also worth considering would be the Solinco Blackout. Lastly, I think it's worth looking at the TFight 300, which should give slightly more feel and control than the X1, which seemed to be your main concern in the previous video.

Milan playing better after his trip- felt he was striking the ball super clean. And great review, Nick. I think it’s important for your watchers to note how flat you hit the ball, so your experience is perhaps less applicable to super spinny Rafa-like players. But I appreciate your honesty with regard to your strengths and physical limitations. I really didn’t predict you’d like the Future the best!

Thanks, Andrew. Yes, the reviews are specific to me. However, I discuss maneuverability. Although I am a flat ball striker, I am able to hit with spin on both sides, underspin, and kick and slice on the serve. I am going to point out whether the test racquets can help with that.

Although I wasn’t a fan of these new RF models, I’ve been with Wilson most of my life and I think they’ve got the best overall feel in the market. I’ve tried every brand out there too. Not even just feel on contact, but feel in hand, which is very important. I am a Blade user but maybe you should try the regular Blade 98 16x19 and the Blade Pro model in both string patterns. The Blade Pro is a completely different mold (H22) but it is almost a hybrid of a Pro Staff and a Blade IMO. Hope this helps, happy hunting!

I have both strung with the Wilson Champion's Choice Duo Tennis String. None of the Blades produced later on have been able to match the KBlade 98 for me. In terms of swing, accelaration through the ball, weight, balance, control will it be hard to adjust to the RF 01 Pro? Also, if the Kbalde has a plowthrough of 4 and the Prostaff has a plowthrough of 10, where would you rate the powthrough of the RF 01 Pro?

Perhaps the Pro favours a larger backswing+swing - I come from the 6.1 Tour (K-factor) and RF97A (340g) - and I found the Pro a delight to use. Excellent review though!

as a long time user of pro staff and RF97, and I even have hit with for extended periods with the shift and aero 98, Pure Strike, and ezone 98 for a while, I was really surprised how much I hated the RF01 Pro. I think it's the worst frame I've hit with in a long time. I went back to my prostaff collection with my tail between my legs, begging them to take me back 😂

With your go to being a Babolat PD, the future would be the closest. As you go up in weight with this style of racquet, it just gets much farther in design and style of racquet that you're most comfortable with.

They've always made a light version of the RF for regular people to us. The heavier 'pro' racquets are just too heavy and too stuff for recreational players.

to anyone finding any pro staff/ rf with little power, remember that it is so head light that you can NOT muscle the ball. hence why federer has such a loose wrist, because he uses the rackets momentum to generate pace. power strings will help but im certain that technique is more important

Hey Nick! you should try the HEAD PRESTIGE MID; 16X19 with 600cm HEADSIZE. STRING IT WITH POLY, AT 35-40! VERY SPINNY and great in SERVE AND VOLLEY.

I have PS V13 315G with leather grip. Do you think I should go for RF 01 Pro or RF 01 and make some customization?

U should try tecnifibre in t-fight or tf-x1. Longer grip than most tennis racquet

Future with same specs as the others in the test will be your second choice. Solinco or diadem will be your first

Hey Nik, good flow in this video and it certainly benefited to have Milo for point play to confirm what you’re hitting best. Some may call it marketing, but have you seen the Andy Roddick video where he tests the Wilson line? Check it out and DEFINITELY try the 300g SHIFT.
