The measly 146 HP at the wheels will be a distant memory when we take the freshened-up Ford and slap her back on the chassis dyno. Then it's onto the race track to compare the newly modified truck against its own baseline.

If you are going to do a part 2 to this. You could put a Coyote 5.0ltr engine and a Crown Victoria front end. This will give you disc breaks and coil over socks. Plus the Coyote is an Aluminum block to reduce weight in the front end over the iron block and 380hp 425hp in stock form. Then another plus is a 6r80 transmission or 10r80. This would make it a totally different truck. The main advantage of this is to put the numbers matching engine and transmission in a safe place. So you can drive and play with out chancing the oem parts. Just an ideal to try.

My stock 351 Windsor 1996 F-150 can do 0- 60 in 8.4 seconds with some small tires. I can't believe how much of a speed improvement they made over the years! Nothing makes me feel broke like somebody saying "It was next to no money"....... $7,000.... 😬 I'm here thinking that would pay for a turbo kit......

That short-block was worn out and had a ridge at the top of the cylinders. It needed a complete rebuild. That same top-end kit makes well over 400hp (crank) on a fresh short-block.

Yes, they have always been bias, Chevy fan boys. For example when they built a 4.9l 300 straight six, one of the knobs drops the block and cracks it. Then says “if it was a Chevy this wouldn’t have happened”. really? He dropped the block down stairs and blamed the manufacturer 🤦🏽‍♂️

Exactly my thoughts why bother with the top end kit getting air and fuel in if your gonna choke off it off on the exhaust a stock 302 with the same top end kit and 150k miles would at least make 290 to the wheel. Well had they ported and polished the Eldbrock Aluminium heads and intake manifold as well as add headers to the 351 Windsor V8 then man that Windsor V8 would've gain 50 HP which with those mods that old 351 Windsor would make around 430 HP at the crank and about 390 HP at the rear wheels (which would be more than you're stock NA Honda LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!)
