I see a lot of comments on the CivicX forums about throttle padding and having to change it. Glad someone made a video about it!

Id keep it on standard as well. I like the stock feel non jerky shifts. Prefer low end response and comfort. Now does having and not having rev hang make a big difference when racing? Probably not. I powershift with no lift shifts to keep the turbo spooling.
@domvaldez7563 жыл бұрын
Yeah I notice this a lot as well. If you let off the throttle in second and then jump back on, it always jerks. It jerks less for me when I gently tap the throttle. It is annoying tho🙄
@danish21992 жыл бұрын
same here. What can be done to prevent this?
@domvaldez7562 жыл бұрын
@@danish2199 in traffic I usually keep a good distance from the car in front of me and I try to stay in between 2.5-3k rpms. I like to give the throttle just an extra mmmphh like if I'm purposely trying to hear the intake and it helps reduce the jolt. Above 3k in 2nd, it's almost as if it's inevitable for the car not jolt. Unless anyone has a different technique? All ears. This does blow and it irritates the heck out of me sometimes lol. Fuck traffic 😆

hey tony, i just got a tune on my 2018 si coupe, i noticed that with rev hang off it burbles a lot less than stock. is it the same with your 10th gen?
@Korzak863 жыл бұрын
When you change tunes for the soft/med/standard do you have to drive around for 30 mins to let the car adjust just like the first time you installed the tune? Cause it seems like it erases/flashes the ECU every time?
@TdaKid3 жыл бұрын
Yes give or take 30 mins I cut it out because it’d be pointless for y’all to see me drive for 30 mins twice lol

@@TdaKid yeah for sure, just making sure haha Getting my ktuner with tsp stage 1+ next week so just checking what to expect when messing around with different tunes!
@SoaRn4K3 жыл бұрын
My car did that around 3k like it acted like it lost power for a sec but I also think is bc it’s trying to burble /burn gas on decel etc and pressing back on the gas isn’t letting the car do that. I just traded mine in on Tuesday.
@TdaKid3 жыл бұрын
That makes sense because it did that on my 8th gen when it was tuned And it actually crackled lol

@@TdaKid yea I had it on the car for a week two weeks ago then traded my si in on Tuesday.

When you disable rev hang does it backfire ? I’m running TSP stage 1 catless Downpipe and only when I disable rev hang at times it sounds like a gun shot ? Not always but at times

Would you recommend coil overs or springs? I can’t decide
@TdaKid3 жыл бұрын
The springs for the 10th gen platform are always a good way to start considering there’s a lot of different drop rates and brands. Coils are better but they are pricey on the 10th gens if you want to get good ones. My only ones I’d ever get are BC racing or Fortune Auto. You still have to make sure that you get the sensor to cancel out the adaptive dampening on the si

Out of curiosity, what was your experience between throttle response 1 vs 2 ? Im unsure which to tune it to once my KTUNER arrives, as Im not sure how the difference is supposed to feel like
@TdaKid3 жыл бұрын
there was a difference but hard to explain. In all honesty I ended up putting Rev hang back on because it was so uncomfortable for me to drive with it off.

@@TdaKid oh snap. Me too man. Gata go cruzing some time. Hey maybe you can help me with something that’s been on my mind about my si. So I feel like it takes an a shit load of time for me to be able to change gears. If I try to change in low rpms. Doesn’t take as long in the high rmps. I have the phearable 1.5 tune and is annoying to have to wait till I get past 4500-5000 rmps before I can change gears without it being an aggressive change without letting off the clutch fast. I’m used to 93 civic si that I drove for many years. And have had this car for over two years now and always bugged the shit out of me. Do I have something fucked in my ktuner settings? Or what’s your take on it? All I have is an exhaust and the prl cobra.
