Testing/Reparing Intel Pentium Pro CPUs SY032, SL22V, SL254 - TMC Research Corp AI6NF Mobo, 96MB RAM

We shall be taking a look at three of my 200Mhz Intel Pentium Pro CPUs, testing and where necessary, attemting to repair their bent pins.
The test bench that we are going to be using is a Baby AT, socket 8 TMC RESEARCH CORPORATION AI6NF motherboard running the Intel 440FX Natoma chipset, and supports Intel Pentium Pro CPUs from 150Mhz - 200Mhz with an external bus speed of 60 or 66Mhz.
I will be running the same benchmarks on each CPU, 3D Bench 1.0 (Faster PC's) PC Player Benchmark 640x480, Quake Time Demo 640x480, and we'll take a look at the statistics on Speedsys.

PC Player Benchmark 640x480 scores 15.1FPS
Quake Time Demo 640x480 scores 38.3FPS

Nice collection indeed. I ran p pro 150 back in the days clocked to 166 (I think). Currently I own 2 of them: a 200Mhz SL22T and a 200Mhz SL22V.

Thanks, it has been a good number of years collecting. I was blissfully unaware that they existed at the time. I'd have been running my ceramic Intel Pentium 100MHz CPU. Keep collecting them, and if you have not already, if possible, attempt to get hold of a working socket 8 mobo, a) so that you can test the processors are working, and b) just so you can have a tinker 😄 Thanks for the comment. 12:48 - Quake is obviously not in 640x480 but 320x200 and 38.3 FPS is not so much for a 200MHz Pentium. Doom is either just 35.6FPS which really sucks. May it be the graphics card that makes the results so bad, also those ram sticks, one pair is one sided and another double sided.

It would make a lot more sense if Quake was in 320x200! I had a look through the video, and I selected option 'e', which is the Quake 640x480 time demo. I'm not entirely sure why the Doom score is so low, I'd imagine that there could be many variables at play here that would need further investigation. As you mentioned, it could be related to the graphics card, but there is only really one way to answer these questions. That would be to repeat these sane benchmarks, with adjustments to the hardware and settings. Cheers for the comment, take care 👍
