Thermals alone and my need for a silent config while gaming is why id rather go with a ryzen 3700x or better build. At a certain point i feel like you get diminishing returns on the 9900k , yes its one hell of a chip... for gaming.. whereas the 3700x and more so the 3900x blow it out of the water in real workloads other than gaming. One helluva build but those temps bother the hell out of me for a liquid-cooled and undervolted system especially with an ambient temp of 20 degrees Celcius... I always question those who run a 9900k. Like can you REALLY honestly tell the difference in 150fps and 170fps? Like is a 20fps difference that much when you already well into the 120+ fps mark with everything maxed out lol. To each his own though. Keep up the great content. Builds like these have pushed me further down the SFFPC rabit hole lol.

I did the same thing with the Streacom DA2 with a Ryzen 3900x, GTX 1080 ti, 45mm thick 240mm radiator, and the same pump/cpu block combo. My temps are very respectable with GPU @ 69c and CPU ~75c under heavy load. I think your issue is the thickness of the radiator , as the pump seems to be enough to cool my very similar loop. It was a nightmare getting it all squeezed in.
@alexz1232
@alexz1232 4 жыл бұрын
The Alphacool ST30 radiator is part of the problem here. It is only 30mm thick, with a fin density of 16 per inch. The XSPC TX240 is only 20.5mm thick but has similar thermal performance due to the 22 FPI. Something like the EK PE 240 at 38mm thick and 19 FPI should perform noticeably better, even if forced to use the A12x15mm slim fans.

I am planning on using the Eisbaer and a ref 5700XT full coverage water block soon, so thanks for giving us this info. I would use a EK MLC Pheonic setup but it's expensive and a bit limited in options, and the Eiswolf for the 5700XT AIO is already 200 bucks, so getting the Eisbaer so i can cool the entire 5700XT with a regular block seems to make more sense. Hopefully with a high density 360mm AIO my GPU and R5 3600 stay silent, even OCed

There has been a lot of research about this, a 280mm is the minimum and most ideal radiator size for a full system waterloop, a 280mm radiator covers 91% of the area and 98% of the performance of a 360mm radiator, despite this it still has 30% more thermal dissipation potential than a 240mm while being only 4 centimeters taller/longer, and benefits much more from static pressure fans due to the higher area to perimeter ratio. You really don't need anything else, which is a shame most manufacturers only consider acomodating up to 240mm, the smallest cases i know of that are able to acommodate a 280mm are the Chimera Cerberus and the H200i, however the H200i is too big for me and the Chimera would be great if there was a single decent mATX option for ryzen with an actual decent phase design in order to accomodate the 3950X, otherwise i will still keep my custom loop on a ATX case. Its a shame that no one can come up with a decent mATX board for ryzen, the closest thing is that ASRock x570m fiasco that has the vrm design of a toaster yet the price of an x570

I wonder what the advantages are of a 240 vs 2x120's? Also I'm planing a pretty similar build but going with AIO's into the Jonsbo A4. Whilst the A4 is a little larger, I like it because of the design (tempered glass) and also I think better cooling you can mount the two fans below the case to bring air into the cooler.

Nice! In the ncase m1 you can do a dual 240mm rad build with the apogee drive ii. With a ekwb se240 on the bottom with noctua 15mm fan. And in the front a 240mm rad. As reservoir you could use the frozenQ ncase m1 reservoir. Maybe that is a suggestion for you? If you use a 240mm radiator that is 40mm thick at the front with the noctua nf-a12x15 15mm fans. In that case you would have some extra cooling capacity and maybe you will even have the possibility to overclock your 9900k!

Truly Amazing build ! Just beautiful and incredibly well done,very inspiring,as it really makes me want to try something similar. I have my daily driver on a Lian Li T60b,testbench,and love being able to see all the parts just a few feet away in such detail. 1 small complaint,your charts are hard on the eyes,make your fonts a little bigger and not tiny text on Starkly WHITE background. Think "snowblindness".

I feel like the Ncase M1 would be a better option for top end components since you have more room for cooling. With the Ghost's top hat, the size difference between them ends up being pretty minimal. Maybe you can try it in the M1 V6 :)

I thought about doing this, but instead of completely watercooling I'd get a low profile Noctua for the CPU and use the Eiswolf for the GPU. That's close to my current setup in a Define Nano S, but would certainly fit a Ghost S1, drop the problematic component down (the RTX 2080) and allow for using a 3600 or 3700 Ryzen which is far more than enough for gaming

It's an extremely interesting build and more than adequate in this configuration, but would it be possible to further decreae the thermals with delidding the 9900K, removing most of the board heatsinks/shroud for a better airflow, a couple of slim fans and maybe thicker rad ?

Very decent temps considering the components used and only using a 240mm radiator. Your CPU temps aren't that much different from the NZXT which doesn't have a GPU in the loop so I consider that a win. I am using an Apogee Drive II in my Ghost but I am cooling a delidded 8700k and RTX 2070 so cooling is much easier.

Excellent video as always, I was quite curious about the thermals. My setup performs roughly the same 8700K @ 4.7GHz and a 1080 Ti @ 2050 Mhz hooked to a single 360/45mm rad. CPU is around 75C and the GPU around 55C during hour long sessions, though I also have a monoblock for the CPU/VRM which impacts thermals negatively.

I wonder how much difference you would see using two 240mm radiators in an nCase M1 with the same hardware. The bottom 240mm radiator would have to use slim fans, but that's still dissipating more heat. Just how much heat is the question. I've also seen an external reservoir you can mount to the M1 which would make it easier to drain if you had to take it on a flight.

In my expirience you will switch the pump block earlier than you think. Alphacool builds scrap pumps ! Had multiple defects with their VP755 (Rev.1 / Rev. 2 / Rev. 3) and already two defect beQuiet SilentLoop 360 (which shares the same alphacool pumpblock that you are using). For that reason beQuiet doesn´t even sell or repair them anymore and will now switch my defect SilentLoop to a DarkRock 4 Pro...!

If your Ghost panel is thick enough and the fittings (were) too tall, you could take the side panel to a machine shop and have them mill out vertical channels onto the inside of the panel... then when you slide the panel down, the wide fittings would fit into the channels as the side panel slid down into place. Did you have enough thickness in the side panel to do this?

Looks like i was right. Moving on. A more powerful pump won't do much, and that's because the capacity of the loop is the bottleneck is the limit here. You're already saturating the loop. Still the setup is one god damn well optimised. Good job. Most ppl just go overkill instead of picking the correct parts and testing the best. In my situation, my whole cooling setup (case, fans and cooler) costed me 170 bucks, and i have a 2600 at 4.1ghz and a maxed out gtx 1080 strix running around 45-60°C CPU, and 60-65°C GPU, in gaming and it barely comes close to ambient noise. Idle or low power tasks it's "0 dba", only CPU cooler fan spinning at 600rpm. Ambient temps 22°C.

Hi man, I hope you can help me. I'm planning to obtain a case in the style and size of the Ghost (preferrtly teh ghost itself). The thing is that I have some pretty powerfull hardware to put there: Asrock x570 itx TB3 + Ryzen 9 3900x + Asus Strix 1080 ti, with a Corsair SF600. Right now I have three options for cooling it: a Kraken x52 (yet I couldn't find the way to make it compatible with my mobo), a Corsair H100i V2, that is compatible with my mobo but I've read in some Louqe datasheet that is hard to install it in that case and fiinally the venerable Noctua LH12s...that Ive seen that I'll have to bent it if I'm going to use it. Now the Questions: 1. Can I use the Nocttua LH12s to cool the 3900x? would ii be suffice? because it would be the most tidy solution. 2. Would the Corsair H100i V2 be enough and fit in the Louqe?....the Kraken sadly I don't see how can I make it work if I want to use my two RAM sticks, I know with my current case a Lian Li PC-Q39. Thanxs in advance if you can help or anyone that can here.

temps are likely bc youre running a 240 rad. you would prob want at least a 360 or 2x240 for that. general tip ive heard is a 120 for each component but being that 9900k is a thermal beast it probably needs a 240 just by itself

If I remember correctly. A stronger pump does not always mean better cooling. It could be detrimental as the fans won't have enough time to cool the liquid flowing through the rad in that small of a loop; won't know for sure until you try it or the math knowledge.

If I understand, the X52 Kraken solely cooling the CPU, was only slightly better than the custom 240 RAD setup cooling both the CPU and the GPU. Do I have that right? That's very surprising the custom setup would be so close and thus superior as a cooling solution to the Kraken.

Is there a way to fit the rog matrix 2080 ti into a SFF case? If not the Ghost any other one? I feel like that GPU is an awesome solution for water cooling the GPU and saving space, if it fits you should make a review of the card and maybe a build!!!

Mate you did it! The AIO is better than your custom loop nice job! 👏 You did a big mistake by building! Look for the material you use and the connecting of cpu and cooler with liquid metal! Well delidding could help you to 5,2 gHz and direct die would be an option!

Missing your old board? “The ASRock zed390 phantom... is full stop the best mITX board out right now”. Has that opinion changed with the offering from Asus?

It's mentioned in the build video for this, some of the pins ended up bending after all the CPU swaps - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqDdgYOnqKpqors

I have the Z390-I Strix Gaming and overclocking 9900k is smooth @ 5.2 Ghz, , had also Z390 Phantom Gaming which is a solid motherboard, BUT THIS vIDEO IS CRAP. Clearly this guy HAS NO FUCKING IDEA ON HOW TO OVERCLOCK... Jesus , I had the impression he is not a total noob... Really this video makes a false advertise about the potential of some components , and only because of this IDIOT who doesn't fucking know what he is doing... JESUS!

Mind Zye That’s not the question- we know that. The question is now that he HAD to use the ASUS MB how does it comprare to the ASRock After OC.

Edwin Otero right. I usually watch all of OT’s videos at least twice. I have the ASRock mobo in question. Bent the pins on my first one. Bought the exact same one again to replace it. Every review I’ve seen says it’s the tops.

What kind of tubing are you using?
@natalyakeane
@natalyakeane 4 жыл бұрын
Eh, in terms of volume it is about 11l, only around 1.5 smaller than the NCase M1. I know you have used and moved on from the M1, but for a very slight increase in size you should be able to get those 12x25s down to 1000 rpm. Currently I have my pc setup to run them at 500 rpm when not under a gaming load and 1100 rpm under max load. In daily use, I actually can't hear it despite it being less than 2 feet away from me.

@@Grottowalker Yeah. not just the TSFA - Airports everywhere will go bat shit. I think most carryons are limited to 35-60ml or something.

Curious about the weight too, I mean it should be completely acceptable as a carry-on if you just drain the loop. I carry my Hex Gear R40 fully watercooled with hardline tubing whenever I go overseas. But it's too heavy to be carry on, so it will always be checked in luggage.

Custom loop and travel doesnt mix well in my opinion unless you plan to carry it in a pelican case.

@@Neiva71 No they won't. That is an urban myth. If you explain to them that it is a computer they will understand. They will detect it on the X-ray and they even allow computers as long as they swab it and take a photo or something. If you declare it before getting scanned all the better. But you are allowed to take ITX gaming computers or just sff PC's on board planes nowadays as carry-on. However I don't think they will allow liquid in the loop but if you remove the liquid from the loop prior to the flight then just add fresh liquid when you have reached your destination (if you have time) then they will allow it.
