Exoskeletons already have been made, they are just not super effective It is really hard to make a light and tight exoskeleton, it's more realistic to expect it to only be used to strengthen for a specific task until we figure out prosthetics, because once we have that figured out we can use exoskeletons to strengthen much more effectively as opposed to press a button and it lifts a bit more as you nearly fall over from the weight of what your lifting

That is a great hope. Jetsons style. Allow roads to become soft grass-ways to facilitate emergency stops, with traffic hovering over them 99% of the time. Mass transit systems could be all but eliminated, relics of a cruder age, with space opened for traffic in vertical air columns, expanding capacity by orders of magnitude. Available land usable for dwellings and exploration would be exponentially opened since travel across surface terrain is bypassed, getting the functionality of a helicopter at low levels for a cost comparable to owning a mid range sedan. Urban density could also finally be eliminated as relics of cruder ages.
