I have been hearing about this new Milwaukee pin nailer and wanting to see how well it works. You do an excellent job of explaining it! I'm not brand specific, so I do have many that I like and some I don't...LOL I have a number of 12 v Milwaukee tools, so I considered getting this gun for testing purposes. It's funny, I was a trim carpenter for years back in the 80's and we didn't have the luxury of using the tools we have now. You remind me of myself when I was doing trim work, I really like the way you work take pride in your work and it shows. I'm still able to do things myself, but If I needed to pay someone you would be on my list. Thanks!

Any luck using a separate air tank pressurized to 120-150 psi? Not sure how many pins you can fire on a tank, but they make small separate tanks only that may work.

@@Icehso140 there's a kit you can buy that uses a 20oz paintball tank. They claim to shoot 4000 nails but expect less from it. I know someone who runs that system for no one makes a battery powered stapler or siding nailer we use at work.

I received my M12 23ga pinner from The Red Tool Store yesterday. Very impressed so far! I put a strip of 1-3/8 pins into a chunk of hickory as fast as the tool would let me, no jams and all pins sunk below the surface. No adjustments made to depth- worked flawlessly out of the box. I'm an avid hobbyist woodworker and will be using this to tack glue-ups together when clamps aren't practical. I expect it will last a long time with moderate use in my shop. I'm investing in the M18 18ga brad nailer and M12 crown stapler next now that I've gotten a chance to try out the 23ga pinner. Thanks for the video!

I am an RV technician, but the first trade that I went into was cabinetry / trim carpentry. I remember the first time i used an cordless electric nailgun. It was an old Dewalt 18 GA nailgun and i remember thinking, "This thing is the size of a framing nailer, and has to charge up air every time you want to shoot it. The only time I could see myself using this would be if I didn't have access to electricity, and thereby a compressor." but now as a RV Technician, I loath using air nailers. having to drag the hose into the trailer is a hassle, and I almost never have a long enough hose to reach my work area. I'm so glad that cordless nailers have come this far and that we have a decent option for a 23 GA nailer as that is my favorite size to use.

I’ve been using the M12 pin nailer now for going in a year and for the most part I’ve been happy with it. I’ve found that it doesn’t care for the Metebo pin nails but rarely have a hang up with the Grex pins and they are far cheaper off of Amazon. Only thing is when you get down to the last 1/4” or so of pins it won’t fire and if you don’t empty those out before putting in a new stick they tend to hang up. Too, it leaves a MUCH larger indentation from the firing pin than my pneumatic Senco which leaves a hole only the size of the pin head where the Milwaukee leaves about a 3/32 indentation. If it weren’t for the convenience factor I prefer the Senco.

I love M12 tools! I have the 3/8 impact wrench, the right angle die grinder, Hackzall, Jigsaw, and the impact driver. They have all paid for themselves to say the least, especially the first two! The only M18 tool I have is the circular saw, the Fuel 6 1/2". I just thought the M12 Fuel Circular Saw wouldn't be powerful enough, even for at home DIY. I also already had a dual charger that charges both batteries so I was covered there. Now I'm looking at the finish nailer, it's about the same price as the M18 but I like that it is more compact.

Ever since cordless guns improved since the days of paslode dominating the market I never use a compressor/ Air gun. I hate the noise and dragging hoses around. New construction in a production style environment then its a good setup but for those of us working in peoples houses with furniture, and breakable things etc then thats a accident waiting to happen and risk knocking something over cause hoses catch onto everything. I started off for several years using a ryobi 18 gauge and went through 2 guns in like 3 to 4 years. Cheap investment and huge time saver vs using pneumatic setup. I upgraded to dewalt 18 Gauge which was a nice improvement and increased driving power. I currently use a ryobi 23 gauge pin nailer and have gone through 2 of them. Overall its great does take a bit of pressure when driving the nail into the wood and some nails have to be set. I was curious if the Milwaukee has better driving power with limited nail setting but it doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe as was mentioned the Gen 2 will solve that issue. It would be nice to see how it performs when nailing several trim pieces stacked. Like hardwood crown against the starter piece. I have noticed many pins tend to not fully set due to heavy recoil or little bounce from two pieces that are not sitting exactly flush or solidly. Pins sticking out on white prefinished cabinet grade trim leads to a lot of headaches since they are almost impossible to set without making a huge mess!

It’s good to install MDF skirting or frames arround the doors with 50mm pins ?

My opinion as a finisher, Rigid makes the best pin nailer that never jam.

My pet peeve as a contractor: People disabling the safeties on tools. I've fired more than one guy for jamming the guards on my saws open with a pencil or stick (Always with a couple warnings first). It's not that hard to hold the guard back manually if you need to, and then the guard still works if there is a kickback or bound blade.

Totally agree. Tools have safeties for a reason - to mitigate injuries. Disabling a safety is one of the most dangerous things you can do when working with power tools.
