Video idea: purposely make most common errors in technique to illustrate what it looks like when it happens, and how to rectify it. Like getting too close to the surface, pressure too low, too high, paint not thin enough, paint too thin, etc. These are the real problems I constantly deal with and never seem to completely eliminate.

That 0.5 and 0.7 are gonna be able to push a lot of primer. Ordered the other Gaahleri airbrushes and they’ve worked great. Pondering on getting your specific airbrush too. Specifically for laying down primer.

These paints look really great Robert. Like you I prefer to use lacquers but these lay down really even. Especially like the yellow depth of colour which I usually have trouble with. From the video the paint looks pretty thick and seemed to atomise better with a few drops of thinner. The Gaahleri 68 AB is sensational, having bought one on your recommendation and it is now the most used AB I have. So impressed by your collaboration with Gaahleri for the AB I'm sure it will be a huge seller. Thanks for all you do for us. Cheers mate

I bought 6 different colors of the "new" Vallejo Air paints and i just airbrushed for my first time and im so amazed at how much nicer the paint job looks over spray can painting. Im so happy that its worked out so far. Im sure there will be issues here and there throughout my model "career" but right now i feel great. I also have more paints, a new airbrush and a new paint booth coming from my family for Christmas. Merry Christmas to everyone.

I'm all for the fan cap ... that's the reason I bought the PS-290 for when I go large areas when I prime. Semi-tractor sides, large 1/48 scale A/C, and the larger Star Trek Ships. I paint miniatures with model air and small parts of cars , I'm currently painting a catapillar engine yellow from a kenworth truck and was in two minds to brush or airbrush, I ended up using 2 thin coats by brush and thankfully it turned out ok

Any clear will work. Vallejo actually has a nice spray can clear but any will work. 2K Clears are the most durable

I guess someone may have pointed it out already, but the colored seal can be used as a clue to know the paint family. Green for Game Air, red for Game Color, Orange for Game Xpress… it’s quite useful!

All Vallejo paints have a flat finish. You will nned to put a Gloss Clear on top of them

Been using mostly Vallejo, they’ve been working great once you learn the pros and cons. I would have liked if they decided to switch to a gel medium instead of a liquid medium to have a longer drying time and maybe the same consistency for all colors.

@@danzo5521 Yes there are, I think Scale 75 uses medium and others, u can use flow improver, retarder or glaze medium to reduce drying time with Vallejo but acrylics will always dry super fast.

I love using these paints. I bought a bunch and sitting on my shelves the colors are great even for airbrushing. I do like that handle design. I got a grip handle brush it's by Master but the handle feels like it's a kid's gun handle you know the kind you buy a 5-year-old to 10-year-old child's handgun. It's so small I like big and beefy cause I can hold onto it much better. Looking forward to when they come out. I also like the 3 needles cause I can do different stuff with them and I'm into so many different things right now it's hard to keep up with everything also I got to keep that tips about the Red and Yellow paint. I like to save videos I like to remember where I hear something from to keep going over in my head when I am doing something so I save to a KZbin file under Models. I might break it down even further when I got time to so I separate stuff I need to buy and stuff for info and whatnot.

You know after seeing this video and posting my comment last night, today on my feed for videos to check out I see that they have another spray gun from Gaaleri X but with StudioG that someone got in hand to make a review on. So does the company make certain deals with KZbinrs to get their fans to buy their guns to support their KZbinrs? Just odd to run across it right after seeing yours. The colors in the handles are different but what if there are 5 other guys does each get their own color handles. I hope they make plenty with your name on it that is all I can say lol.

Hey Robert;I think you should try airbrushing a 1/24 or a 1/25 car or truck body using the House Of Kolor,or the Lime Line custom automotive polyurethane laquer paint system to see what the results would look like.

Thanks for this! I paint table top gaming minis more often than I do model kits so all of my paints are acrylics since they're easier to thin when brushing because I prefer to use a wet pallet. I've been an unashamed Vallejo fanboy for years - most of my paints are Valljo Model Color with the odd Game Color bottle here and there. I've never tried the Air Color line, I just usually thin out the Model Colors when I do use an air brush because I don't want to have to buy two bottles of the same color (one for brush and one for air brush). Just curious, have you tried just using a regular brush with the Air Colors?

Really great full to show how to clean your airbrush, especially with the Gaahleri Airbrush. I'm gonna order the same type that you have. I never work with that type of airbrush pistol before but I really wanted to try. I have 3 cheap Fenga airbrushs pistol works fine and I got Iwatta HP CS great for the purchase works amazing, but still careful with cleaning. Thanks to you im gonna try this method. i overwhelmingly work with regular brushes, and I've found the "Model Air" range to be quite a bit better for that application than the "Game Air" range, before this overhaul mind you, so I'm keen to try out the updated formulation. Hearing that there won't be any metallics has me baffled a bit, since the Game Air range was especially cruddy in that department, and the Model Air metallics are among the best on the market... odd decision to not tackle those in this new lineup. Congrats on the collab, the note is as beautiful as the Swallowtail itself.

Vallejo recommends the new formulation of the Game Color lineup for Metallics. They are even airbrush ready. So, take that for whatever it's worth.

The problem for me with all these videos painting spoons is that a spoon is the absolute easiest thing to paint, I don’t need any help with that. Only rarely am I applying a single solid color to an entire broad unpainted object. I need help with weathering freight cars, doing soft streaks, how to restart a streak that got interrupted due to tip dry, so I can seamlessly finish it. How to fix errors like darkening the model too much? Problems real people encounter. Maybe I’m too inexperienced but all these spoon painting videos seem the same, it always appears like each spoon gets perfectly painted , and you must have dozens of these same videos with different paints. It doesn’t really illustrate any differences. This channel is excellent but could be much more useful with some tweaks in my opinion. Thanks for considering this feedback. Edit: another common issue: painting cars, how to get a mirror finish gloss coat? I seem to end up with mild orange peel texture. It looks “pretty good” but it’s frustrating because when I’m spraying it, there are fleeting moments where it’s wet and looks fantastic, but it never seems to dry that way.

At what temperature, is it too cold to be using an airbrush? I live in in area, where the outside ambient temperature can get 2 to 0°, but where I actually set up my paint booth, I can keep it about 50°. Is that too cold to be doing air brushing?

Hello. I’m new to airbrushing and having a hard time deciding which paint to get. I’m debating between vallejo air and creatix wicked colors. I’m planning on painting (on paper, canvas, wood panels), foam dioramas, and an occasional model car kit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Either of those are good for what you want to to spray. For Plastic models I would pick a different paint. So if the majority wont be plastic models then stick with Wicked or Vallejo. Just grab car colors alacart when painting plastic

Very nice colors, unfortunately I have to rely on solvent based colors/enamels because I need color tones that are hardly available as acrylics.🙄 Congratulations on the collaboration with Gaahleri!🤝🏻🍀 This is a really nice airbrush (obviously identical to the Studio G, just a different color of the swallowtail part). It looks like there's a fan cap included, but no one has really said anything about it yet - and very amusing, the guy from Studio G doesn't even know what a fan cap is (according to his giveaway lifestream)...🤷🏻‍♂️🤭

I didnt see anything in the box or on the product breakdown image that looked like a fan cap. Are you sure you arent seeing the nozzle heads for the different needle sizes and thinking theyre fan caps?

@@GenuineRage That can certainly be the case. However, somewhere someone actually wrote about this airbrush that "the fan cap works well" - that irritated me... Anyway, these nozzle heads with this very large thread should be ideal for screwing a fan cap onto the airbrush. I hope Gaahleri ​​has plans in this direction.

Do these new Vallejo's have the same "perfume" smell as the other Vallejo paint? I like the quality of Vallejo in general but can't stand the smell of their paint, it lingers for days, much more than even lacquers which are really strong but dissipate quickly.

Yeah I believe these have the "sweet" smell, much like Tamiya has a unique smell

Not a fan of the new Vallejo formulas, only tested 2 bottles but as it stands they’re more watery and transparent which makes them harder to cover the paint underneath, brushing it is also bad requires many layers to get a uniform base coat, the old formulas were better, thicker yes but after thinning they covered well!

You'll need a good primer. Stynylrez Primers are my favorite acrylic primer and they come in a ton of colors.

Thanks for the demo. I can see several colors I want to try. Two questions and a comment. Does your Swallowtail airbrush fit the Micro-Mark Vallejo Paint Feed Adapter, Item # 90833? It says it fits Grex Tritium Series Airbrushes, and other brands with M6 x .75 cup thread pattern. Question two - do those adapters fit the new Vallejo bottles. I guess the test is, do the new and old bottles use the same caps? My comment is, on the Vallejo website it says they don’t have metallic Game Air because the metallic Game Color are airbrush ready. Same for fluorescent. Thanks again for all the great content you give us, and the timing couldn’t be better, I was just about to buy a trigger airbrush. Waiting a couple weeks is no problem. Mike W

so I have both my new as of yet unused iwata eclipse and my older pasche(sp) airbrush, and I want to run my primer through an airbrush I will be using either a vallejo grey primer or an A.Mig-2024 One shot grey primer and was wondering which airbrush I should use...
