Well chuffed Anthony, managed 10 muscle ups with 2 green bands last week, did the same tonight, then tried one green one purple and could not believe I did the same. Dropped to one green and did 5, dropped to purple and red and did 5, could not do another with purple on its own unfortunately. All of a sudden its come together in the last week, thanks for your inspiration from another 59 year old. Also managed 1 rep at 40 kilos and 4 at 30, all in all a good day!

Mike, that’s awesome, sounds like it’s all coming together nicely. Don’t forget that you’ll need a rest day, before you go at it again. The technique is so important, without that, you don’t stand a chance. But it seems like you are on the right road.. so excited for you!

@hcalisthenicsI'm only training once or twice a week so resting is not an issue. Still not 100 percent sure what changed last week and last night, but I guess after 3 or 4 months something has to switch. I feel like I'm capable of doing a muscle up now without the bands! Cheers Mike

Everyone is different but I do arm rotations plus a couple of unweighted pull-ups.

What are your thoughts on training for one arm pullups?When u are thinking to start it to ur routine and working for it as hard as u work for achieving 30reps in bodyweight pullups.Pls share ur kind thoughts.
@funwithcalisthenics11 ай бұрын
Little Cats, I would love to be able to do a one arm pull-up. I do sometimes train this skill, but I feel I need to be considerably stronger, and lighter before I can make much progress with this skill.
@krlezg9 ай бұрын
Woow, phenomenal, you probably have enough strength to attack one arm pullup.

@@funwithcalisthenics we’re on the journey with you my man. My goals are to do at least 1 muscle up by December and to be able to do the Asian squat. The muscle up goal came from watching you, hehe. The Asian squat came from another KZbinr and wow, it’s extremely difficult to do (with heels on floor) for a guy that’s never stretched a day in his 65 years. You have a good community here 👍.
@funwithcalisthenics11 ай бұрын
@10speed4 The Asian Squat! Without a single stretch in 65 years, I love your enthusiasm. I’ll try and help out with the muscle up, the Asian Squat I’ll leave to someone else. 😂🥳

@@funwithcalisthenics hahaha, the Asian squat is kicking my *^#. KZbinr “knees over toes guy” and some prayers (lol) can get me there, but probably not by December. I’m stiffer than a Saturday night pecker, hehe. I should have my muscle up bar setup in April, PHASE 2 BEGINS!
