What a fantastc honest TET video review in 3 parts - normally I quickly get tired of endless driving on trails in these kinds of videos but you had a great mix. Very impressive that the group could stick together with all of Brian's problems on his CCM - hats off to the man - I had given up. I wish you all the best of luck for the next TET trip - looking forward to the next video series

What a great bunch of guys. Through it all, you were obviously bonding and looking after each other. That seems rare these days, when so many people are short tempered and stressed out. You're all role models for the rest of us.

Loved Brian's attitude - 'it is what it is'. There was one point he lost his composure and said "booger" when it didn't bump start.... What a guy! Brilliant video.

Brian is so calm in all situations. I think it might actually have been Peter, and not Brian, who said "booger".

At least you stuck together, but for the life of me, I can not understand why you did not stop at a bike repair shop in Sweden! They're all overr the place and you would have benn fixed. Good grades for sticking together. Know this, the whole Swedish and Norwegian TET can be done on heavy bikes with good tires. What you saw in this video is as hard as it gets.

For me personally the kind of trips where everything went wrong are the trips I remember best and laugh about the most after the fact. If Brian is anything like that he'll have a lot of memories and a lot to laugh about 😂 Thanks for the great videos, was lovely following the trip!

Great trip, gentlemen! I did it by myself earlier this summer, all the way to Finland, on my T7, stock tires. Sweden is really amazing for its nature, wild camping laws, free lean-to shelters with firewood (and even free saunas), and wildlife. There's no other country like that, even Finland feels very different. In my opinion, Swedish TET is easy and doesn't warrant a lighter bike. The 450 would shine on TET Latvia though- lots of sand, mud and single-track. Cheers!

I think we all agree that the small bikes are not necessary for TET Sweden, but that's what we ride, because we mostly ride on much more technical stuff. If I did it again, I'd take the same bike.

Wonderful to follow your TET adventure through Sweden. You have a great attitude and admirable patience for everything that happens 😄👍🏻 I discovered TET myself this year, and have bought myself a Yamaha -2012 XT660Z Tenere for the purpose. Did a solo drive the same way as you a week ago, up to Skellefteå. I'm very happy that the Yamaha has proven to be reliable, because I don't have your mechanic skills. Great fun following your adventures. 😊🇬🇧🇸🇪🌲⛺️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️💨

If you get time it would be really interesting to hear about how to planned the route, GPS and satnavs and so on, how much drama booking ferry's were, and things like finding petrol stations out in the sticks. Fantastic videos of the Swedish TET I can't wait to go myself.

I'll see if I can get the others together to make a video covering all these queries.

@@offthetarmac4884 that would be great. Whilst you got them there could you talk about luggage from a point of view of how much to carry v how much it affects the bike. I'm a complete novice with this sort of thing and I guess it's a compromise between having a nice light bike and not having any creature comforts and vice versa! How many litres carrying capacity approx do we think is necessary taking into account such things as going to fetch food and so on? Thanks again.

Really enjoyed following along on your trip and maybe using it for inspiration and ideas for my own future variation on it. It'd be great if you were able to do the post ride break down of logistics, costs and any other thoughts and advice you may have for others contemplating such a trip (over and above don't go with a CCM rider obviously😂). Thanks.

did he fuel up with 95 octane in sweden?? Everytime im forced too fill up with that crap i feel like the bike is clogging up. always run on 98 octane if possible:)

Lucky you're not bumping a fully loaded BMW GSA. Back in another century, a pal used to ride a Norvin, and we either had to kick into life or bump it as he was a little guy and couldn't do either on his own.
@emilhammarstrom8138 Жыл бұрын
Have him grab the shoulder of one of the other riders, or put the strap on one of the bikes and have him hold it by the clutch after running it one round around one of the fork legs (so he can release it after the bike starts). No need to push his bike all of the time! :) We had this exact issue on the TET and we ended up just using the other bikes to bump start the one with the broken starter.

I’m thinking about riding the Swedish TET next year. Were there any challenging spots during the first three sections starting from Malmo ? Rally enjoyed the videos 👍👍
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
What constitutes a challenging ride will depend upon your experience and the bike you are riding. I found none of the Swedish TET to be challenging on my KTM. The riding was so easy I would have been comfortable doing it on a larger bike such as my Triumph Scrambler 1200 or a BMW GS1250. It is virtually all gravel roads which can be ridden on any bike.

Great trip! How many miles between oil change on your KTMs? I know my 450sxf and 525sx is 5 hours between changes. But that is of course racing motocross. Cheers / Ola - Sweden
@offthetarmac48847 ай бұрын
KTM advised oil changes are for racing. When just trail riding like this I push it out to 30 or even 45 hours. No issues.

Your mate who keeps loosing his pannier… why doesn’t he just buy two small cheep padlocks to pass through the holes where the bolts have been placed ? They can’t vibrate out then ! Don’t make any sense
@offthetarmac4884 Жыл бұрын
The pannier racks were hand made by the previous owner and he designed them to be secured with small padlocks as you suggest. But just buying and fitting 2 new padlocks would be far too sensible wouldn't it? Without my loony friends this trip wouldn't have been half as fun, and these videos would have been a lot less entertaining.

On my trusty 450EXC I tried (and broke) a few different side stands. For the past 2 years I've run one called Swiftkicker from the USA. Works on any uneven ground and no matter what luggage is loaded. Pricey but brilliant!
