I knew you would love it. Avantasia is the all-star project of the German metal singer Tobias Sammet (Edguy) and was founded in 2000. The Scarecrow album was recorded in 2008. And yes, they had a lot of guest musicians/singers like Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Alice Cooper, Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Marco Hietala (Nightwish) and many more. Avantasia is based on the same principle as Ayreon; one guy writing all the music and lyrics and he then invites other well known musicians to play and sing the music with him for albums and live concerts. Great band (project) and song, the singer with the raspy voice was Jorn Lande and in the back Amanda Somerville is also singing. If you like great guitar play and good vocals i would recommend Helloween. English Wikipedia say They has been referred to as the "fathers of power metal". The songs Keeper of the seven Keys, How many Tears, Halloween or Eagle fly Free are true masterpieces. Best live videos would be from the Pumpkins United Tour (United Alive DVD).
