Today, we replace the blower on a Detroit Diesel with the help of mechanic "Jack". We run into trouble when the two blowers aren't the same. We also work on the starter wiring.

Just love amateur hour! This is why the Bus Grease Monkey has a long future ahead of him. Remember the hourly rates are double if you try to supervise and triple if you help!

You need to move the ground cable that you hooked to the blower housing and connect it to the engine block. Things don't play nice trying to ground to a few bolt contact points on the blower housing. With the gasket between it and the block that is the only electrical pathway.

Haha, well it's a learning curve. Good thing Tyler is willing to help you by phone. Electrical is easy if you know it. It can be overwhelming learning as you go and the heat can really make it hard to think. Obviously you sorted everything out to make it 180 miles before the radiator lost antifreeze. I took a radiator in one time and the local shop did a great job. I'm sure it will be great and you will be a Scott's place soon. Will probably see that video before you load the rest of yours😆

It's great that someone is armed. If the bus moves, you can shoot it.

I guess if you screw stuff up a lot it helps to carry a gun so the customer doesn't kick your ass for screwing it up, or if you are scared of your shadow otherwise leave the law enforcement to police.

You know its not a real Bus adventure if there is no trial by 100 degree heat right? You Gents did alright for such a long hot day, Id have been throwing tools and cussing way before the 11 hour mark.

That bus is great and certainly a keeper....but would it not have been more cost and time effective to have it flat bedded somewhere closer to home so you wouldn't have to go on a 1600 mile jaunt to work on it? I'm amazed that the engine wasn't fully assessed prior to repairing sub assemblies such as the air compressor. The red paint was certainly a "red flag"....that block probably has several million miles on it and who knows how many times it was rode hard and put away wet.
