One of the most balanced battles I have ever seen and heard, it was on the same level as the one between Southern and Jackson State, I wish there were battles between Jackson State, Norfolk and Southern for this powerful trio of marching bands in action in the same battle , it would be a fantastic show, full of power, technique and musicality!👏👏👏👏👏👏

Yes sir, LOL Mr. Simmons just DEBUNKED that, “Corner Excuse”, that a certain band love to use, because TSU sound incredible while blowing mad WATTS from that same corner, so what’s y’all excuse now?😂 TSU didn’t have to move their band at all. They matched SU all while playing in that same corner. This was definitely the best battle of the entire season so far! No other band matched SU like TSU. SU and TSU both sound absolutely incredible here. Both are evenly matched from what I hear, when it comes to musicianship, pen game arranging, and song selections, so kudos to both bands for putting on and giving us this amazingly incredible battle. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

TxSu’s band is small yet complete.. When each section has the opportunity to shine on their parts, they do just that. They have a cohesive and balanced sound… Proving quality over quantity… I’m so very proud of those kids and staff….. and well, SU is just SU. In my head, these directors are all in a group text talking mess to each other weekly and laugh yet y’all get your crazy selves on here fighting…. 😂

I think this battle was tie at the very minimum however I still give the edge to the Ocean. I am not sure why you gave them a 4 on that Evelyn Champagne King song because there was nothing missing. No one can beat the Ocean in technicality and clean sound!

Win/Lose..Im a TSU grad the wife is SU, and both agree that both of these directors are teaching these students music. Technically and arrangements are top notch. Still give TSU the win, just on arrangement difficulty..great battle...End of the day, SU is the standard for years...TSU has arrived..if its close, usually goes to the Home Team.

Well one thing for sure is that these next couple weeks are about to be the biggest battles of the season seeing how this one went. TxSu got JSU Saturday and Boombox II on the 11th/12th (can’t remember which day). I’m excited lol. Glad to see Southern back to form and TxSu really bringing their A game. All on who you prefer but I will give a VERY SLIGHT edge to SU. But they both killed it. That “Carry On My Wayward Son” is a big song here in NC in the country with high schools and colleges. But one of the best I’ve heard it.

I just love 💕 you Steven. I love your facials and how goofy you are when giving your critiques and you kinda cute too. I love the fact that you enjoy what you are doing and having fun with it. I definitely see the love in you for the craft. However I think we should have won by two points cause txsu first song in the middle fell all apart sorry that should have been a three not a 4. I disagree as well with what txsu best song of the night was too but it is a matter of opinion but for me Aliyah's rock the boat was so light and bouncy I just loved it. They articulated it well. But a W is a W and we definitely should have won.

Now Steven You Were Fair Through Out This Battle But Texas Southern Kept Up with Southern I Honestly Felt That Texas Southern Mellos Out Did Southern Mellos Along With Texas Southern Tubas! I Graded It With The Exacted Way As You Did But The Old Southern Would Have Massacre This Battle With All The Above With No Questions Ask! Now However Jackson State Stayed Steady To Utilize Size And Their N Sound This Year Which Separates Sound N Balanced From Texas Southern Numbers N JSU Sound As A Whole! It Does Mean A lot When It Comes Top Arrangers And Arrangements! Southern Barely Made It Through This Battle! Due To The Intensity And Numbers Jackson State And Texas Southern Definitely On They Asses This Year!

@ 14:32 When those tubas came in on Escapism with the chords it sounded majestic oh so sweet. Next @ 15:11- 15:26 they had split parts with some playing the “bass line” while others were playing a counter melody of some sort it’s the smallest of details that impress me in these arrangements so the blatant 🔥🔥details are simply icing on a well put together cake. Great job KC your 🖊️ game is viscious🔥🔥🔥. Musically this epic battle of arguably the best arrangers in college bands (Brian is the🐐) between 2 of the top 3 college bands was the best battle of the season by far and if you think otherwise “you was poo on your horn” as my boy J Law would say😂🤣💀💀

TxSU "out Southerned" Southern. They (TxSU) are cleaner and don't sound as desperate to be loud. Although they both have identical styles, TxSU overall takes the W...barely tho.

You don't realize TSU is not in completion with S.U. if they were they would the same thing. Sound is totally different. More people actually playing than some of the horn holders S.U. Ask yourself why would they play Brian's arrangements if TSU was trying to be in their lane. Also, if its their best performance of the season what motivated that? I rest my case.
