Good, now cops can actually spend their time enforcing existing laws. And i love how this video says you need a good mechanic to verify that your horn and lights are working. Fun fact, you can see the lights with your eyes, and hear the horn with your ears. If they aren't working, it is illegal to drive. No need for a mechanic, or an "inspector" to tell you that.

Just a cash grab! The inspection goes away but still have to pay a fee...? Then you are still required an emissions test? So the driver saves no time, effort, or money, and roads are less safe. Good job government! The same people you are telling to "not drink the contents of the battery" are now the ones responsible in determining if the vehicles are safe or not. That government official who came up with this is a joke. If you really wanted to help, you would take away the emission test....

Love how the mechanic is not happy. Duh! If people can’t afford a mechanic, they are driving without inspections any way. This just opens up for more registration money from those who don’t register because they will fail inspection.

Inspections don’t stop people from using paper plates and not getting one! How is an inspection going to stop someone with no insurance?

You STILL have to do the hardest most expensive part of the inspection which is the emissions thing. Basically, making sure your car is road worthy is irrelevant to them, as is your safety- but bend over if you need a new catalytic converter, or have an evap leak. AND they are still gonna charge the same amount. It was NEVER safety inspections that were holding people up from registering their car, I did inspections for many years, and I know that the dudes who would find a way to pass you with a check engine light were making alot- more money than I was.

Holy cow,you have vehicle inspections in Texas ?!!! In Indiana we abolished them in 1988.Didn't work,too many poor people with bad cars .

If you are still paying the $7.50 inspection fee when you register in a county that does not require the emission test, does that fee now go to the state and not the companies that inspect the vehicle, is it just free money for the state now?.

he said drivers are now going to be worried about negligence if they are in a collision. yeah, i don't think the people who haven't gotten an inspection in two years are going to give a rats butt if they are negligent.
