Respect for the traditions and passion this family has put into their business... love how they honor the memory of Elnora the waitress... 1948-1976... 28 years of her life she gave to her job... and this family... God bless Texas! I enjoy watching the Texas Country Reporter... howdy from the land of fried chicken... Louisville, Kentucky, USA!

As a chef, it it stories like these that matter. Reaching people (customers and workers) at the dinner table level. It means something. This father and son care about what they do. They are professionals and know how to bring people together. God bless them.

Chicken fried steak. That tells me that you have a great number of exceptionally hard working physical laborers toiling in sub freezing temperatures who desperately need the 2,500 calorie meals these dishes make for.

What they didn't talk about is when black people couldn't eat there. If you noticed in the video, the only black people there were working.
@vanityminger8547 Жыл бұрын
I worked there and it’s the most racist establishment I ever seen. They have kept the tradition of not allowing black people to work in the front as a host or waitress. U can only work in the kitchen and mr Wayne doesn’t allow the waitress to speak to the all black kitchen workers. Traditionally blacks couldn’t dine in they had to receive there food out the back door. I’m seen Wayne pick food out the garbage heat it up on the grill and reserve it. The only reason the chicken ever runs out is because mr David can remember to order properly due to the amount of illegal narcotics he uses daily. The hygiene of the men seasoning the bbq and cooking the chicken is appalling at best. I have seen him lick his hands from the mustard and continue to season the public meat and food. While jerry the head cook scratches so bad he tears his skin apart in the flour bowl because he can’t get ride of the bed bugs at his residence. Which he had for over a year. That picture of the lady is Wayne’s ex mistress that he had relations with while he was married. The place is full of roaches. So happy when I was able to find another job because the treatment of people by them is horrible. There very sexist. Just wanted people to know the truth about this establishment because in Houston there are hidden gems and great places to eat. But this ain’t one of them. There over priced as well for 3 pieces of chicken and u could get robbed in the location as well. If u wanna get there don’t let me stop you but I would have my coins for a different bbq place.

Ya know, people can say anything, especially hiding behind a keyboard. If things were really that bad, somebody would've gone to the city or the TV station by now, and it would be out there. It sounds like sour grapes to me........
