I''ve owned a 2002 RSX-S since 2008, 210k miles. I was laughing at your leather! The sexiest stiches in there belong to the kids car seat. It happens to all of them! I just painted mine and reupholstered the front, ball joints, control arms, etc. I do have a car seat in there with blue stitching lol. Anyways I just changed the tranny fluid on an 07 RDX and realized the drain bolt is on the back. I did my RSX 7 years ago and totally didn't drain it right! I'm glad I came across your video because I'm due for a transmission flush and might as well do the tranny fluid. Very educational, easy, straight forward. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for the great video. One tip I’ll add is to first make sure that you can get your fill bolt loose BEFORE you remove your drain bolt. This just makes sure you don’t run into any issues with it and get stuck with a dry tranny by draining first. Thanks again. Great video!

Haha I just refilled the fluid on my base tranny after getting the k24 swapped in. Super easy on these things. Chasing down coolant fan issues rn. I wanna drive this thing so bad! You weren't kidding on the price of those type S trannys either. I got one local for 1000 and I still need a flywheel and clutch for it. Not gonna bother swapping it in till the 5 speed dies. Gonna save for an lsd too. Keep up the good work! Super motivating James!

Amsoil is quality fluid for sure. Syncromesh is good for so many things. Even the Suby guys have been using it in the "Scottys Cocktail" for years now. I met a guy years ago who was into racing etc & we asked him what oils he used & his reply was snarky as heck, stated "AMSOIL, naturally" the look of seriousness on his face when he said it was priceless... Now my friends & I always say "Naturally" when we hear AmsOil

Haha I use BestLine racing additive with amsoil and it’s a superior fluid. I did a video on bestline additive on my other channel Moore motorsports garage but need to do another video showing how amazing it is with amsoil and bestline added.

Good question. I have an 04 RSX-S trans in my Civic and 3rd gear usually works fine and never pops out once it's in, but every now and then it doesn't want to go in all the way the first try. From the research I did, it looks like a lot of them were that way since they were new. Acura released a TSB and their official fix was to replace 5th and 6th gear with updated ones that use single cone synchros and replace the shifter cables, but a lot of people said that didn't work either. The most common "fix" seems to be to use a different fluid like this Synchromesh, but I haven't tried it yet. Obviously fluid isn't going to fix something broken or badly worn, but it seems like the 3rd gear popout is more of a design issue than a wear issue since so many did it since they were new.

What kind of camera setup do you have going on in the inside ?

Gopro hero 8 is used for speedometer and the audio. The other camera for road and inside is the link in the description for the dash cam. The camera does awesome but the audio is terrible that’s why the gopro Audio is being used.

You mentioned it’s not grinding, what gear were you grinding? Mine started grinding on 3rd and tried Royal Purple Synchromesh still grinds. About to try this brand and hopefully it helps with my issue.

Not sure what you mean. Definitely DO NOT use power steering fluid in your transmission or engine oil. Power steering for power steering only. I have used transmission fluid in the power steering pump before with no issues but never wanted to risk doing it the other way around..

@@rstuff1605 Honda/Acura have own proprietary ps fluid. Dont use ATF or regular ps fluid. Make sure it say for Honda/Acura on bottle

It’s amsoil. Id say it meets and likely exceeds hondas oil.

OEM Honda manual transmission oil is crap compared to Amsoil, pennzoil, or AC Delco synchromesh, or Redline MTL. Honda’s is basically mineral oil. I run AC Delco synchromesh is a RSX S-type and an 8th Gen Accord 6-6. It transforms the transmission on both cars.

1.6 quarts. best to fill until you see oil coming out of the filler hole. make sure your car is on level ground or on stands etc.

What would you think about 1 quart of the amsoil mtf and one quart of the rtf ? The rtf is 10w, and I've read fora few people over time the mtf just doesn't do it anymore and needs changed more often. I'm thinking mixing a quart of the rtf would be great?

Yeah they only have their Synchromesh we can use. Torco makes an RTF racing Trans Fluid that a lot of people mix with their regular Torco MTF.

I'm glad you are having good results. I have found Honda MTF to out perform just about everything. :edit: the fluid you drained looked brand new.

It seems to work good no doubt if you have a Honda dealership in town or have the time to order it and have it delivered. I don’t like driving to the next city over to get fluid for my transmission and it don’t help the dealership closes so early. I’m not a early bird gets the worm kinda guy so when I get around to things it’s usually later in the day. I have been using all kinds of fluids nothing seems to perform as good as this amsoil in manual transmissions for me. The Honda stuff did okay but I wasn’t as impressed. I think they had more additives or something in this stuff.

@@TexasHondaChannel the only oil i will ever run in my jdm k20a type r swap is amsoil 5w-30 full syn. I use Honda MTF in my built tranny. Logistics can be tricky, maybe you can get it through amazon, but it sounds like you have a good match with the amsoil.

@@musshwins412 Yea makes sense. It comes down to preference I suppose but I go with what I know personally works. If it didn’t work I wouldn’t use idc what brand it is honestly. I mean most my parts i run are cheap parts because I know they work but there are some I won’t run because they don’t work. Same goes with oil lol

how
