@RNRWEAR6 жыл бұрын
@@jazariathompson3402 Sure. They can if they want to but real hiphop is what you're hearing and seeing right here. Pure raw hiphop. The problem is, a lot grew up in this new generation of hiphop and dont know any better than the garbage (my opinion) that is out now where everyone sounds the same almost with no lyrical capabilities. There is a reason why the 90s style and sound is still breathing and slowly creeping back on a come up.

Teyana is the most underrated singer/artist out there. I think GOOD music didn't do enough for her because her name should be said in the same breath as Rihanna and Beyonce. She is just as talented. I read that her and Iman broke up, I'm so sad cos they were such a great couple. I wish for the best for all of them including their baby. Love this song, should've been a #1.🥰

@@askmpublishing8217 i listened to your song on SoundCloud. I am not an a&r but I know good music.....your voice is awesome, but the beat is drowning you out and it's hard to understand what you're saying, I use to have that same problem, tell them to turn your beat down while you're recording and you have to be louder and more confident, practice your lyrics 100 times before you record and truthfully, go back in and rewrite, just listen and decide what needs to be improved a bit, make the biggest impact with your words, and after 1 min maybe 1:10, when the beat changes, make your voice escalate, like chill cool voice and let it build going into the chorus. I need a wow factor to make me wanna hear you, like in Teyanna song it was that part, my nights with you, my life with you... I fell in love with the song from that moment on. You have an amazing voice, I can definitely hear that so keep going and strive to be better with every song.💖💖💖 you're on your way!

No it wouldn’t have been a hit, lyrical rap has never been mainstream even in the 90’s Lyrical rap is really popular don’t get me wrong but it’s not mainstream C.R.E.A.M is Wu Tang’s biggest hit and it only charted at #32 on the Hot 100 Stop blaming it on this generation, our ears didn’t just magically shift from lyrical rap to mumble rap Pop music has always and will always be the most popular genre because it’s the most accessible Even the rap songs that charted high in the 90’s had a pop-ish element to it If lyrical rap was mainstream then how come Jedi Mind Tricks have never been in the charts???

Teyana is beautiful and uber talented. Some people complain that she should be more famous. A lot of people who appear to be over-night successes, however, actually grinded for years before they became famous. Teyana has definitely been putting in the work. I believe that the problem is partially related to her not really maximizing screen/camera angles and editing to really make herself pop inline with her gifts, and in ways that minimizes other artists. She appears to be a collegial kind of artist who works best collaboratively rather than in a competitive manner, particularly with O.G. hip hop artists that she's grown up around. Who is protecting her in this regard is what I am wondering? Who is coaching her on her onscreen image and power? It apparently makes a difference. You know that person that gets looked over in a company by higher-ups, despite the good work that he/she is doing, because she's super comfortable with who she is and so does not see the need to step on others to get to the top, while the one who is less talented, but who is always thirsty and constantly up in power-holder's faces gets promoted? That is how I see this thing with Teyana. The damn woman is drop-dead beautiful. Her talent is undeniable. She's paid her dues. The fact that there are more comments about how amazing Method Man is in the video on this strand than are positive comments about her performance, is problematic. She let Method Man outshine her in her own video. To his credit, Method Man is an experienced artist who presently stars on a lead HBO show. He knows how to take advantage of the moment to make something big happen. This is something that Beyonce is also good at (See Freedom video with Kendrick Lamar where she dominates, and never let's him outshine her. It's one of the first times that I've seen her work so hard at it). It may be the editing and she might be friends with the other performer, but Beyonce is not going to not be the lead star in any video that she is in (#Serena Williams). She is an assasin in this regard and it has paid off for her. Another example is the "Wake Me Up" video with Remy Ma and Lil Kim. They are friends, but they both came hard. Neither pulled back to share that spotlight. They were two queens championing it and letting shit land where it landed. This made the video compelling and in the end the both shined. Kelly Rowland was in a video with Fantasia and Missy on Fantasia's song "Without Me". Fantasia dominated the video throughout. Every angle shot put her in the best light. She also communicated directly and strongly with viewers through eye contact, facial and body gestures, and costume, that she was the shit. I noticed that Kelly was shaded in some shots so the viewer could barely see her, and could sometimes been seen dancing behind Fantasia. When you could see Kelly well, it was a fast shot or one when she was looking away, which lessened her impact. Yet, many artists strategically use these moments to get their brand across or to shine. Kelly didn't. Fantasia was the star of that video. Missy was treated similarly. She had more shots where she was making audience contact and showing her swag than Kelly did, and they did not fade her out in any shots. They did, however, keep her shots to a minimum. It was all about Fantasia who is talented in her own right. I do believe that Missy negotiated her image more than Kelly did. I'm advocating for Teyana to do more of that kind of thing. . Monique is another entertainer who utilizes this skill very well. She brings the drama that comes with it to every performance that she gives. People may complain about her being loud, etc off camera, but the lady works (despite rumors) for the simple reason that she brings award-winning performances whenever she shows up. You can pretty much count on it. She is a powerful communicator. She's done the work to uncover and to reveal her vulnerabilities, etc. in a way that connects with viewers. I think that Teyana may need to linger here for a moment. It appears at moments on screen when you expect her to show up, she hides some how, and does not fully reveal her character/self. This causes the viewer to not feel fully satisfied. It doesn't matter whether she is singing or acting, except in the movie "The Start Up." Her performance was excellent! Also, most times that I've ever seen Teyana dance, she really opens up a dialogue with the audience with her movements, but even in the "Fade" video she appears to be closed or hiding. She has only a few moments when she has eye contact with the camera/viewer. As always, I am pulling for my girl. I think that she is much needed in the new school of young artists and entertainers out here today. She's a triple threat and she brings a credible and much needed realness with her womanhood to the arena, along with her beauty and talent. She's also fresh and so, so Harlem. Go head Teyana.
