I needed this, I always talk to myself in my head about this type of stuff like "who am I" "what am I doing" or "what am I supposed to be doing". Such a relief that someone else thinks the same Thank you.

Anyway; the experience of fixing my truck gives me something to actually talk about with random people. the only thing I've had to talk about for 25 years is video games and school. Just talking to the workers at auto-parts stores (instead of just ordering my parts from RockAuto) left me with a really good feeling. Random cashier notices that I'm buying brake fluid, power steering fluid, and oil? talk about all the shit I've had to do to my truck. feels like I'm not just drifting through social interaction; actually starting it, and it really feels good. CasualTF2 speaks to me and me alone (is what I feel like). My truck has started to require different repairs every other weekend... first, the right exhaust manifold shattered, I replaced it; then the power steering is going; doing without for now; brake fluid was leaking badly from the calipers, so I replaced them. most recently my brother overheated the radiator and blew it out. just yesterday I replaced the radiator and thermostat, but now it won't start. Thought maybe some wiring got damaged, but after replacing the battery and cords, it wouldn't even produce a click when trying to start, so I took the starter motor to advance auto parts and they said it was all good... put it back in my truck and had some despair for a few hours, thinking hard on what could be the problem, looking through my Haynes/Chilton book. honestly thought it could only be the starter/solenoid. So I looked online for a part and did not want to wait for RockAuto's delivery; so I looked in stores' inventory and AutoZone had one. I took my starter there and when they tested it they said it was too weak, bearly turning. the young guy there was very nice and helpful and got a remanufactured part quite cheap. when I put it in my truck; the bolts were slightly too long (probably for 3.5L engines, not my 3.3L) but it got in there snug enough and I almost cried for the first time in a long time when the truck actually started.

I'm only 10 or so minutes in, but I definitely agree with you on social interactions being what makes the world go round. I also deeply relate with past social situations not being the best. Not to say that there weren't great experiences with former friends and all, but my quality of life has definitely skyrocketed ever since I stepped away from those circles. Now I try and make the best out of every interaction in life, as should everyone. That's how great friendships and relationships start!

this is an insanely beautiful video and definitely came out at a time I really needed to hear it, I appreciate the love and dedication you put into this....(i havent even finished it yet) but wow you remind me of myself a ton...I feel like everything ive gone through and have personally dealt with has made me think about how I've lost pieces of myself, over the past few days ive been slowly regaining myself though, I think it's taken 2 years to get here. Our time here is truly precious, and in some ways its all we have. Anyway I'm just rambling, thank you for posting this. I hope you have a lovely day. this reminds me of when I was posting like 8 videos a day back in the day for some reason, anyway thank you

This video, and this channel in general is just so dense. When I leave comments, I like to point out exactly the parts I like about the video, because that shows I noticed something of worth, rather than just saying that the video is good. I consider it more authentic. With this video, I can't. It was all just great. Food for the mind and soul I guess is the best way I could put it. I feel fulfilled and validated after listening for over two hours.

3 hours of playing TF2 with my mains, with chill talk? Already subbed. I myself am very antisocial, and it's not that I hate all people, but with both my friends family and strangers, trying to explain myself just hurt too much, and I decided it wasn't worth doing so, so I appreciate a stranger who can relate to it.

I had a similar experience when I was younger into my young adult years. Very picky with my friends and dismissive of those who I didn't think would be 'real' friends. Sometime after living like this I found myself subconsciously removing myself from social situations. Where in the past I wouldn't bother with speaking to new people, it started to become not sharing my opinions with my real friends or family because I thought it wasn't even worth it with them. Now around this time I wasn't hanging out with the best crowd of people, they weren't bad people so to speak, but it was all I had. I went to school at a small university in a small town. (most of) Those people didn't value my input, so I didn't bother, and soon that spread to my other relationships. Fast forward to the covid pandemic that forced everyone inside and playing Death Stranding, the game built on making connections, and it finally dawned on me that my way wasn't the right way. My parents were very hands-off with raising me, they believed anything I could figure out on my own would be beneficial and don't get me wrong, that was great for my development, but it left a huge gap in experiences where I could have learned from others. Now I relish being taught how to do something by someone eager to teach it, but I digress. It was only a short few years ago that I learned to value simple human connection. I now have a job where I talk to different people every day: rich, poor, young, old etc. The part I enjoy the most is the simple interactions, it's different every time. Sometimes you'll get an old person who talks about life, or someone well travelled who talks of their journeys, or it could just be someone curious about my job. It's nice. Life is nice. I don't believe everything can be a joyful experience, because you need the lows to keep you grounded, but switching your perspective into one of optimism is such a good way to go about life.

I really love this video. One reason I am unsure I could ever leave my home country is because I think in a sense, I would be abandoning my history and betraying my country. This is where I was given my education and was supported by my community. It would be easy for me to say, I like ABC better in this foreign place, but that is not all that would motivate me to move.

Wow this.. talked about a lot of things that I did not expect at all and it was really long.. Im to rewatch some of it as I feel some of it just went into one ear and out the other. I’m a creative person that likes to write dnd and currently trying to rest and heal from a (it’s not a burnout as I still can do some other creative things but it’s like I can’t write without just constantly nitpicking or changing my ideas) so I’m going to try to do absolutely nothing like you said more and maybe that will help me. Also I’m going to Japan in August for a exchange year so that’s happening along with a steady source of anxiety. But, Casual in the future when you make these long and really profound videos with plenty of different topics if it would be no trouble could you provide time stamps for when you change topics? As I said before I’m going to look through some parts of this again as it was really long. Thanks for reading this long comment and have a subscribe from me!

yet to see a bad casual video; each is indefinite, infinite food for thought. perhaps the bane of life itself is of a desire for its efficiency, and short-term comfort, which is ironic, yet a thirst for knowledge shows little pain. obvious in hindsight, but hard to convey so well - not hard enough to casual to fail at, though!
