It's not useless because you still have the Scottish Resistance. Stay near dispensers/ammo and play entirely defensive and you still have a perfectly usable loadout. And the Scottish Resistance also has extra ammo anyway, so it makes things a little less bad.

Fun fact about the eyelander, you can keep the heads after switching loadouts simple by turning off the advanced setting of “respawn on loadout change” so not only do you get the benefits of full head eyelander you also get fucking sticky bombs, 205 health, and the speed of scout almost. In the days before the dark times, I used to run Loch-Splendid-Persuader as my go to. The Loch was basically my secondary to get rid of sentries or people backtracking and I just went at people with reckless abandon, timing a shield+swing combo was enough to kill pretty much anything other than an overhealed heavy and really fun, even considering I didn't get to trimping until MUCH later.

In long: Demoman as a class is uniquely suited for taking out Engi nests thanks to the ridiculously powerful explosive weapons he has in both primary and secondary. The fact that the anti-building Caber is completely redundant coupled with melee weapons being uniquely bad at dealing with sentries means that if a Demo wanted to use it, he would likely have to forgo at least one of his much better primaries/secondaries for the job at hand in order to actually close on the Engi. This is an incredibly goofy premise and I can't help but laugh thinking about it.

I have been playing a lot of demoknight recently, but it's mostly with the half-zatoichi. The overheal you can get from it is insane. But with this video and the other video I watched about the Persian Persuader, I might have to switch it out for a bit.

This is basically a battering ram in degroot meadival mode. I love chain meleeing or accidentally shield bash ending the enemy. The main enemy is damage like the baby face for scout. But once you line up and learn the timing you can do MLG chain attacks

The persian seems fun because it lets you play around it's weaknesses instead of negating them, letting you charge more often instead of just making you faster Kills giving you another charge you can use to advance or flee instead of having tanky defense or health Its more active, making it better to fight as or against.

a weird thing with the persuader is that in the past i've used the loose cannon and persuader and the cannon's ammo wasn't affected by the persuader. im almost certain it was a glitch and i don't know what caused it but it was VERY fun; dont know if it's been fixed yet but if it isnt...well. :)
