A group of 4 cheaters were on Blu in Lazarus. They kept kicking everyone who wasn't with them for BS reasons. They put sentries in the walls, and one of them even went so far to mis-represent the Bible to manipulate people. I got kicked for *"recording the game and invading privacy"* (I wasn't.) All in a *pub.* Though I wasn't recording, if I was, how would he know? I *was* in a Discord call at the same time, but I don't think I had video streaming on. What *really* pissed me off is that one of them voice chat mis-represented the Bible, though. It *really* doesn't sit well with God that he was using it to tell people they'd go to hell "With fire and brimstone!!! _Forever!!!"_ if they weren't doing what HE wanted. Didn't Hitler also re-write the Bible which isn't supposed to be done? Well done, fool. I mean a *DRY* well in the middle of a desert, and you're stuck in it as long as you won't look for the steps. Though, I didn't express myself well to him *at all,* and I regretted it shortly after. I attempted to ask him to not mis-represent the book, but all I kinda said was "Could you not say Bible bullshit," and that could be easily mis-understood. I then was not acting very Christian to actually go so far to say "fuck you" to him before I got unjustly kicked. I don't know about most people, but for me, I've RARELY said that phrase in my life, even before reading the Bible. I'm not supposed to hate my enemies, even if they mock or beat me or maim me or whatever. Not even if they set off a bomb on my porch, like with Martin Luther King. It wouldn't be a case of "Love your enemies" if I did, and I just felt wrong (and sickening, in a specific way) to say that. Mind, I'm not saying that he's being *"just"* with cheating, because it's a heap of trouble. So don't get me wrong, I don't condone *cheating.* But if you're in a private server and you're just clowning around and aren't doing it *against* anyone for a cheap laugh, maybe there are some fun codes to do if everyone in the server's with you on it and keeps it there. Just don't get carried away.

This is a good video. Also a tip to sniff out a cheater, look at their ping. Usually they’ll stick to 100-200 ping consistently when they’re alive, however when they’re dead they’ll usually go down to 30-50 ping or 1-5. And just because someone has expensive items, that doesn’t mean that they can’t be cheating. I can almost relate to every scenario in this video due to how blatant cheaters are in this game, bots are easy to deal with however cheaters are much harder, because they usually bring in their shitty deformed friends into the mix too. Hope KZbin pushes this video out more and more so people know about this.

(Not-so-)Fun fact: Most of the Kitty Genovese case is a myth, several of her neighbors did call the police and she died in the arms of a 70-yro lady who called an ambulance. Most neighbors couldn't hear her or even see her because according to reports the department had a very weird layout, and the ones who did hear it thought it was a domestic quarrel or some drunks fighting. Note that this was before 911 was put in place so it was much harder to get in touch with emergency services in case of you know, an emergency. Also the witness number is exaggerated and nowadays believed to be around a dozen at most. This has nothing to do with TF2 cheaters but the misconception of this case drives me up the wall.
@101Volts Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it happened in the 1960s, and the 911 number didn't really start being implemented all over the place until the 1980s - 1990s. The "Rescue 911" show probably helped with that. The number did exist in the 1970s, but 1979 only had about 25% of all North America with it. ... Disclaimer: I'm not that old, I just looked this up once.

I'm really glad a video like this not only exists, but does so in such high quality. Even if it's long, I hope a lot of people watch it so more people can realize that more than just Snipers can cheat. Though, unfortunately, the "low-rank players" who are usually oblivious will probably STAY oblivious, but it's still a great resource to have I do admit, though, even if people are in voice chat saying things like "F1 they're cheating", I'm usually pretty hesitant to vote it. Okay no actually that's not true, I F1 99% of the time on default, but still, I've seen plenty examples of people using the "they're cheating" excuse JUST so that they can vote kick a person for any reason. I've even seen cheaters do that, a counter "cheat callout." Being realistic, most people aren't gonna hear "they have a VAC ban on their profile," and then take the time to go look BEFORE voting, because the vote is only in place for so long. They're either just gonna ignore it no matter what, or believe it no matter what. It's a really tricky situation, I guess all anyone can really hope is that people will start paying attention more often. I admit, too, that I often play the game with voice chat disabled, as well as sometimes even text chat. Cheating aside, the game and community are just full of loud, obnoxious, toxic people, and sometimes it's nice to just get a break from all that. I imagine I'm not alone in that, so it's possible that a lot of your arguments are literally falling on deaf ears, and I don't think there's really anything that can be done about it. I try not to do this as often anymore, or at least just leave text chat open, for this very reason, but, y'know... it can happen. I love the idea of making cheaters feel bad, though, that shit's just funny. I usually just opt for the painless "requeue under the assumption that no one's going to be able to do anything anyways since this community is full of dipshits" route, but maybe if this video does well enough, people will start being smarter? We'll see! Either way, amazing video, was super well edited, great work!

Most of the time I play with voice and text chat off, too. I get yelled at all the time, people being toxic because I’m a furry or non-binary or pansexual, whatever. I most often just press F1 whenever a vote is called, too, because MOST of the time It’s trying to kick a bot. It sucks that Valve isn’t doing much so that people don’t need to conduct an in-depth investigation to figure out If a person is cheating.
@Dedprotectr Жыл бұрын
It's definitely not just you, I can't stand the community anymore, and usually play with both text and voice disabled. That being said, if this video does anything at all, it'll force cheaters to play in 6 stacks and just use all this advice against legit players. It's not like cheaters are physically incapable of building rapport with pubbies, they do it all the time and that's why people find it so hard to get the opposite team to kick their cheater. When my friends want to join my game, and the game is full, I've kicked random players by just calling a vote and drowning them out by yelling into the mic and spamming text chat with "F1, it's a bot" or something (in all fairness, I try to avoid players who are being helpful/useful). This is as a legit player, too. This advice can (and will) be used by cheaters against legit players, and it will have way better effect with them than it will with legits, that's just how it is. You make literally the best choice by just requeuing. Cheaters don't "lose" when called out. Legits tend to think cheaters actually care about hiding cheats in a game where the only functioning anticheat system is a votekick, and it does nothing. The more of your time you spend looking through their profile and writing their biography in chat, the more they win. The only loss they get is by getting nothing at all.
@HappyBeezerStudios Жыл бұрын
Usually I'm on the side of caution. I'm not the best player in the world and know there are people who are better than me. But there is the point where it's blatantly obvious. And for TF2 I'm more likely to vote if there is a reason given. Just an empty vote gives me no reason to assume anything. But if there is something connected to it, I have a reason to check and see if there is any substance to it. (The same way as I generally don't accept random empty friend requests) So if you suspect someone of cheating and want to get them kicked, please spend the extra quarter of a second to select "suspected of cheating"

@@Dash123456789Brawl It certainly is messed up, but that's not the point. I'll never forget this one game of upward I played sometime over a year and a half ago. There was a blatant cheater with what I'm assuming was a friend of his on the enemy team. Despite us pointing this out for the entire match, the cheater's friend would try to gaslight us into believing his friend wasn't cheating, despite him snapping onto people's heads and killing them immediately. Needless to say, we all grew pretty frustrated, and I was about to leave, until a random sniper on our team announced he was going to do something about it and asked someone to go vaccinator medic to pocket him. He then injected his own cheat and began spinbotting and headshotting the entire enemy team, holding the entire game hostage until the enemy team kicked their cheaters. This enraged both of the cheaters, and they began to spit a whole flury of insults and racial slurs at our team. I even remember them challenging the guy to an HVH match, which I thought was hilarious. Eventually the enemy team grew tired of being constantly headshot, so they kicked both of their cheaters, and all eventually began to leave the game in what I assume to be shame. After that, the guy stuck around for a while, kind of talking and socializing with the rest of us, before leaving. Before he left, I remember him saying we could add him in case we ever ran into more cheaters. I never said anything to that guy, but man, it was one of the coolest, if not craziest, experiences I've had with cheaters in TF2. I don't remember his name, but I respect him for that. Cheats you covered indirectly or missed, but didn't formally cover, or ones mentioned only briefly: -Aim Assist (basically very slightly adjusting aimbot which moves at slower speed and micro adjusts aim so the character model doesn't rotate, imitating console controller video games; has the same effect as XIMing on console games. You get the accurate equipment and aim assist) - Aim Key (Toggle aimbot to make more subtle) - Anti-backstab (Turn around and alter hitbox wireframe the moment spies enter backstab range) - Anti-headshot (Look up and crumple hitbox when players are aiming at your head) - Anti-melee spinning (most often found on sniper bots, going along well with melee crit hacks) - Auto-backstab (specifically tuned melee hack that goes along with interp spoofing, used most frequently on spies) - Damage Falloff hack (Used by mostly heavies, basically 0 or reduced damage falloff on medium and long ranges, making time to kill insanely fast) - Damage Ramp-up hack (Used exclusively by heavies to decrease the default time the minigun takes to max its damage, basically removing the balancing penalty on all miniguns, so instead of starting at 120 dps and going to 500 in 2 seconds, they will ramp up damage instantly. May have been patched. Don't see it very often anymore.) -Damage Spread hack (Same deal as damage falloff and ramp-up, but for bullet spread, used mostly by heavy, scout, engineer, pyro shotgun, and heavy shotgun. Makes it so pubs run like broken competitive lobbies, but the bullets have even less spread, and every single pellet hits you even at range. Disgusting.) - Delayed/Smooth Aimbot (used in conjunction with walls/ESP, basically attacking shortly after the moment they're revealed, and slows the movement sensitivity of the aimbot user. This is a VERY expensive and rare/harder to spot hack. It's a workaround replacement for silent aim) - ESP (Fancier wallhack with some more tuning and more details such as when players are looking at you) - Interp Spoofing (allows players to manually teleport by "lagging" via changing interp settings to unusable levels, while never missing in hitscan battles. Most often used by cheating spie with auto-backstab or other classes with auto-melee, and can even hide anti-melee spinning. Basically Dio's Stand ability, where time slows down for everybody in the interaction, but only they can navigate it. They proceed to "Omae Wa Mo Shindeiru" you to oblivion.) - Ping Spoofing (affects scoreboard; goes hand-in-hand with interp spoofing) - Sandbagging (not a script, but a practice in competitive leagues to stack teams with secretly higher skilled player(s) than the agreed level to unfairly to defraud prize pool money and ruin games) - Triggerbot (Automatically hit any shots that register being over the crosshair. Users tend to sweep their aim at high sensitivity over targets to get shots. Sometimes set to ignore spy mode and headshot only mode. Not as common anymore. Often used in conjunction with aim assist.)

hey! 29:48 for checking their profile, you dont need to shift tab, theres an option to enable the mouse in the scoreboard meaning you can directly click on someone's name and pfp and get a list of actions including viewing their steam profile (very similar to csgo for those who play that) this is very very fast to do tho i personally have some delay sometimes that can last from seconds to minutes before it opens their profile (achieved with sorse)

The often unfortunate part about (attempting to be) kicking cheaters, is that in some servers I often find that A. The other team does not want to kick their cheater; as they know there will be no consequences for them B. The cheater will be in a party of quite a few people who vote F2, making kicking them impossible. C. There simply won't be enough players to kick the cheater. It's hard to say if Valve had truly done their best on fighting against the cheaters, but I applaud for at least trying. Great video by the way.

Watched the entire thing, and I just want to say thank you. An amazing amount of information and advice on how to best go about handling cheaters in tf2. I have been doing some of the tactics shown, but only the most basic like checking if the enemy can see you while invisible or baiting their wallhack. I had no idea you could check profiles and spectate your team. These tools will be invaluable to me going forward. Just being able to say, "Hey this guy has a VAC ban" and backing that up with evidence is huge. I find that I get angry very quickly when I am in a game with blatant cheaters, and my callouts could definitely use some serious work. I usually end up trying to use Genki's Strategy of insulting them which does not work for me because I am not good at not being nice and they have had years to build up their repertoire of malicious words and deeds. I do feel like I linger too long when it doesn't seem like the cheater(s) will be kicked any time soon which I now realize makes me a prime target for them, especially when I acknowledge them.

It doesn't work in some instances, like if they have selected a team but not a class, and it will very occasionally break the steam overlay, but it's much easier than navigating through an entire second menu! This is one of the best and one of the most important videos in TF2 community. And you have to spread it everywhere you can, so that every TF2 player that can see it will see it. Post it in your steam profile, ask your friends to spread it too, ask other TF2 KZbinrs to let their viewers know either about the video itself or abouts it's contents, or even advertise it in your own upcoming videos - *it* *will* *all* *be* *worth* *it,* because this is the best educational material a TF2 player can get on the topic of practical methods of dealing with cheaters. You did a great job with this video, it's top notch quality, but now you have to spread the word about it everywhere you can, to every listening soul. This will actually noticeably help the whole community, as the biggest strength of cheater is a lack of knowledge in a legit player's head, and you just so happen to have opportunity to fill that lack with your great video. Take this initiative, like you told us to do with cheaters, this is our way to change things for better ourselves!

It can be annoying when you know for certain someone’s cheating, but because it’s unconventional, people don’t seem to grasp they could be cheating, and you can’t vote kick them. @m.tsevidencevault8826 Жыл бұрын
plus: the "cl interp exploiting" is nothing more but a made up BS used by the cheaters to convince people that they're just a really good spy main
@Dedprotectr Жыл бұрын
more info: you can tell the difference between backtrack and manipulating cl_interp. Both deal with the actual hitbox being "late" or "laggy" in following a player's movements, however, backtrack is able to be toggled based on the needs of the player; "I want to get a funny long range stab, but I don't want to shoot someone until 2 seconds after they turn a corner" Interp takes a lot more effort to change, requiring the player to effectively die every time they want to swap between funny stab and being able to shoot their gun and hit their target. Bonus fun fact: due to the way interp works, the best way to ruin a interp spy's fun is to run directly into their face, as you will physically block them from being able to melee you. Or, if they expect you to backpedal, try to turn around and run away, the hitbox's *position* is lagged by interp, but not the *rotation*, so they will get a butter knife on you.

Some notes I’ll add here - Some closet cheaters might try to hide crit hacks by using Australium weapons since aussies have a unique kill icon that override the crit kill icon in the kill feed. - Cheating Demoknights in my experience seem to favor the Scotsman Skullcutter. I’m not sure why but probably due to its higher damage output and being able to random crit(And being notorious to getting a lot of crits anyways). - Someone might correct me on this but the usernames being different ingame part can be done by just changing their name through steam since the names won’t refresh mid game so they might not be cheating unless proven otherwise if you join mid game and they were already on before you.

My jaw nearly dropped at 45:14, as I was in a match of Harvest with Euphie yesterday. They were also playing Scout and had a Vaccinator Med pocketing em. I had like 2 or 3 other friends in my party and we pick up on cheaters really easily. At some point we team went Natascha Heavy to counter them, which made Euphie switch to Heavy themselves, still being pocketed, which admittedly having a pocket Med on Heavy makes **sense**, but as for Scout, no. We may have lost those matches, but eventually, the enemy team managed to kick them, and before they did, I had gone Cloak and Dagger Spy and ended up with successfully backstabbing Euphie. One of the best feelings I've had in TF2 recently. It's so amusing seeing them in a video about cheaters when I was in a match with them just yesterday.

Something to note, Tf2 runs at 66 tps, (nearly everyone knows this), but often times many people will call hacks on someone because some frames are missing, because of this. Due to most people recording on OBS with 60 fps, you're missing 6 frames, which doesn't sound like much, but it actually most likely obscured the scout showing up on your screen (choco) in the clip where he was behind the wall.
@tackro9358 Жыл бұрын
This is a very comprehensive video on dealing with cheaters in casual mode, this is almost 1 to 1 the procedure I have when encountering one! You should TOTALLY make a bunch of shorts as little snippets to make this hour long video digestable for the zoomers, absolute no-brainer. It sometimes helps getting the attention of your own team or the enemy team before making the callout in chat, as anyone can randomly throw out accuastions like a child does, which nobody cares for. Something simple like "hey anybody up to chat?" or "can anybody chat?" suffices, that way they are paying attention to chat and respond, which is when you then make the callout. This falls flat if nobody responds, which usually happens on european servers. From personal experience, it's never worth it to play the long game, frankly a waste of time and nerves and the cheaters might not even care! You're better off just leaving, just make one last callout before leaving, for the slight chance that somebody enacts upon it. Another thing you could do, but technichally is inferior to megascatterbombs megaanticheat, is to mute cheaters as a way to "mark" them. Mutes are permanent and give you an easy and immediate way tell who you marked and is therefore a cheater, plus cheaters don't have anything useful to say anyways or just micspam, downside being you can't read or hear their arguments against being a cheater.. Just check the mute menu and you instantly know who you're dealing with! (make sure to backup your mute list, it's stored in your steam folder somewhere) You can also go the nuclear route, like Cerulean on youtube, who just plays better than their cheats and dunks on them clowns publicly on his youtube videos.

Message to people about vac bans : a lot of players will unlock achievment items, this can lead to a vac ban.

This is a lie. There's a site called AStats, which assigns scores to steam achievements, and shows you your score total. They regularly ban profiles from their site which cheat achievements. There are plenty of profiles with obviously cheated achievements (whole bunch of them being unlocked at the exact same time). Not all of them have VAC bans. Cheating achievements does not get you a vac ban. It does not carry any punishment at all outside of these niche sites that track achievements.

@@flyguydev2008 He means unlocking them via nefarious methods... A friend of mine did it, dunno how, but suddenly, one day, ALL his games unlocked 100% achievements, in the same second. xD He didn't get hacked, i'm still in contact with him, and he doesn't cheat in-game, to my knowledge,m but then again, that might only be when he's playing with me, maybe he cheats when he's playing by himself, idunno. :P Anyways, this happened a while ago now, like half a year, a year maybe... And he still doesn't have a vac ban on record... So i guess he evaded detection, somehow. :P

I was in a casual match once and it was kinda normal with some bots being kicked, BUT at the beginning of the next round all players were replaced with bots and were spamming chat saying that actual players were bots and the bots ended up kicking everybody. So at the end of the day a server was full of bots and nobody had fun!

"They're a blight in every gaming community" That's.. debatable. Cheating's pretty benign in singleplayer settings provided no institutional challenge or competition - IE, speedrunning, no-hitting, etc - is in play.
@Buglin_Burger7878 Жыл бұрын
I've only ever cheated in Singleplayer games, (or just versus bots in MP games), and never in a way which would effect standings in anything. There is a lot of this over claim issues in this video. A streamer who goes by Tomato got a VAC ban while playing with friends in L4D for a visual overflow glitch that happened due to a faulty mod installation. This is just an example of many where in this video puts too much weight into small things.

in some multiplayer games even its not that much of a blight. The Minecraft HvH scene is pretty fun, and there's a lot of creative uses for items and blocks you would never see in traditional PvP. It really depends on how the cheating community gets along with the legitimate community. The relationship is... less stable... for TF2 lmao
