I’d honestly rather have a replaceable battery because my pistol only sees light when it’s being used. That means it’s going to spend most of its time in the dark and eventually the battery will drain. My 507c has a button to turn it off. Hold + I believe. Is this not on other holosuns?
@nmtay2 жыл бұрын
I guess I should've been more specific, sorry. Most other manufacturers that make micro red dots make them so that they're "always on" without the ability to turn them off, if you'd like. I, personally, think it is an added feature to have the option to turn it off, but there are also people out there that don't care. Which is fine, too. I guess the argument behind it is that it's better to have it always on, in case you need to use it, but not every firearm is a defensive firearm. Like, I have rifle that has a buttonless RMR atop an ACOG and I rarely pull it out or use it because it's in the back of the safe and I have others, and it basically just sits there and dies because I can't turn it off, and even more-so annoying because I have to dismount the RMR to replace the battery. One of the main things I like about Holosun is not only the options that their optics have, but the solutions they provide to things that consumers complain about.

When I used the auto setting on my 507C, which is supposed to use the solar panel as I don't believe the manual setting does use the solar panel, I found I could see the dot outside well enough IF there was bright sun. Indoors or not much light outside and it was like you said, practically useless. Either way, I don't really see the need for a battery backup when these sights can run 50,000 hr on a battery as is. I replace them every year just to be on the safe side. There's an argument I suppose for a battery dying early and needing the backup or the ever popular end of the world scenario, but for me it's a feature I never use. I'm more interested in the sight using the MOS connection points directly.

Theoretically, if you had a P365X slide, the EPS would direct mount to it since the Romeo Zero and the EPS have the same footprint. And if you don't, milling it out wouldn't be an issue.
