The Tremor 7.3L gas truck will be a good “forever” truck. Minimal corrosion on the aluminum body, strong steel frame, over-built pushrod V8 motor, easy to maintain, easy to repair, high parts availability, and strong aftermarket support. The only question is if the new 10 speed transmission will hold up over time. If so, this truck will be a home run for Ford. The Tremor package is just a factory option for what we all do to these trucks anyway. Thanks Ford!

Jondavid Bristow Exactly.. Most folks want all of the capabilities of a Diesel without the excessive noise levels. Others only want a Diesel for it’s noise, but they hardly (if ever) load it down with a 20,000+ lb load. Manufacturers know this is what the vast majority of their customers want so they’re aiming to meet the needs..

maintenance will be dirt cheap too.. modern day diesels should really only be bought if your business requires it and you can write it off as a business expense. this is prolly the main reason the 7.3l gasser exists now.

I heard just a normal f250 7.3 gasser is suppose to pull up to 21,500.that will exceed my needs plus gas is cheaper,maintenance.and the 7.3 is like a 2G option so you save a good $7,000 on price.thatll buy gas prolly for 5 years in a 7.3 gasser depending on mileage driven and towing miles.

@@311hitwall That's ok. Diesel trucks have too much that can go wrong. they are noisy, pollute like there is no tomorrow. Strong engines but its a specific person or business that would need a diesel truck. That's all good. But I'm not towing the state of ohio so the gas is just what works for me, thats all. Plus diesel gas is so high plus the additive you have to use or your truck turns off. So the 11mpg more then makes up by not having all the added cost and maintenance. If you need one its for you. I don't so I would go with gas. Seems it could be the best of both sides.

Ford diesels and Chevy diesels don't hold a candle flame to the Dodge Cummins. Cummins is a low maintenance diesel and if there is upper repairs needed you don't have to raise the cab off the frame

I love the murdered out look and the Powerstroke sounds fantastic. I used to own a 2015 F250 4x4 crew cab. I’ve taken her off-road in the Grand Canyon, to Michigan snow banks, muddy Pennsylvania countryside, sand dunes. I loved my truck it’s so comfy for the off-road. My biggest and most recurring issue was that the wheel base was so long. It would get stuck or highside sometimes. Also branch scraping on a new truck really hurt and hated that. I hope that it comes with a winch because having a 8,000 lb super duty stuck is never easy to get out. Thank you TFL for a lovely video. Keep up the great tests, descriptions, and reviews :)

Erik Hoffman Either you’ve never driven Fords 19 6.7 or you aren’t old enough to even drive, but NOTHING compares to diesel once you actually drive (or heaven forbid; OWN ONE). You won’t want a gas engine if you intend to use the thing at all for something besides going to Kroger and Walmart. The new 7.3 will be no different because of its still-low power numbers. The diesel has DOUBLE the torque of the 7.3.

Diesel is great, no doubt, but the amount of issues now caused by all the emissions hardware makes diesel a lot less desirable for MANY consumers. There's definitely a popularity shift back towards gas because many believe that reliability favors gas engines. You see this mentality big time with large fleet managers who are returning to gas. There were a lot of people who bought into diesel and got offput when repairs cost way more (and were needed more often) than their comfort level. We've hit a point where gas fuel efficiency is almost catching up to diesel when comparing stock set ups (except in max load towing). The power of the 7.3 gas is like 90% of the power output of a diesel from 20 years ago, and most people were happy back then with power levels. The other major contributor to gas favoritism is the fact that more and more jurisdictions are cracking down on EGR and other emissions system deletes/bypasses. So...if we're going to be forced to accept diesel with all its mechanical issues caused by the "life draining" emissions stuff which can cost thousands to fix (and therefore negating any long term cost savings), I'd rather stick with what I know is reliable and powerful enough for my needs. That 7.3 appears to have been engineered for serious duty. And maintenance is much simpler. No worries about fuel quality or water in fuel, no need to always worry about fuel filters, no need to worry about injectors or EGR. A gas engine....it simply works. And if something were to go wrong, there's space to actually work on the engine without having to remove the entire body off the frame. That is BIG, especially for fleet owners and do-it-yourselfers.

Yes, our 6.0's were awesome and they didn't give much trouble at all. But ever since then, we have bought the 6.8 V10 and the 6.2 V8 because they were so much damn cheaper and they hardly EVER break down!

I'll stick to gas. Diesel: Horrible starting in cold climates and if you break down in the middle of no where it is a long tow to the nearest diesel mechanic, and then it cost more to repair. And once in awhile, diesel fuel can be harder to find.

Good video. I was going to get a f150, again, but Same old, same old. I pre-ordered a Cybertruck, which I initially hated, but it grew on me, and now I think it looks awesome cool, and the specs are great. it has 19 inch clearance, 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, 10,000 lbs towing, 3,000 lbs load capacity, 6.5 feet truck bed that is lighted, and comes with a locking cover that rolls up behind the rear seat, air compressor to lower or raise the truck, which can be used for air tools. Ram should have done this a long time ago with the power wagon, and reconfigured it with the Cummins. I know its bigger and heavier, but Ford got it done.

The diesel sits so low the axle would hit the engine. And no you cant say well Ford did it because the Tremor and the Power Wagon aren't even comparable despite what the marketing team at Ford says. The Power Wagon has locking front and rear diffs and disconnecting sway bar on a full coil spring suspension. It articulates way more and will destroy the Ford on a real off road course. This tremor is only an f250 with a lift and bigger tires.

Yes a standard leaf spring f250 with a diesel will absolutely tow more than a gas burner off road purpose built truck. If you want to tow and haul then compare this truck to the off road package Cummins 2500......

For an offroad truck, having the monster torque diesel would be ideal, but the 7.3 might be the way to go. With that gas motor you don't to worry about damaging all the crazy expensive diesel emission control parts. That DPF is expensive to fix if crushed. Most guys would just delete it, but EPA is cracking down on that.

You can't do driving expression but you can line it up with 2017-2019 F-250 , it's still Ford dealers lot and do differences interior ,exterior and what have improved!

@@joeysprojects9081 I use to be a die hard Ford guy. When I went into business Ford really stuck it to me with the 6.0 / 6.4 diesel problems. Since then I went with Cummings powered Rams and have been very happy. But I do want a 7.3 gas truck for plowing upstate NY.

Sasha Shpiruk I prefer the 7.3 as well, BUT, remember Ford did not renew the contract with Navistar to continue building diesels after 2010. The 6.7 in-house Ford built, Powerstroke has done pretty well over the past 8.5 years which is almost as long as the 7.3 powerstroke (not including the International 7.3 IDI)

RTRKLH82 Wasn’t it stated that the 7.3 gasser was only like 225 lbs lighter? Not sure you can feel that. I know in my 19 f250 diesel, you can put 400 lbs in the bed and not know it at all. Doesn’t squat even 1/4”...so I doubt 225 lbs will make it better/worse off road.

100k likes no views most of those ‘people’ complaining about the power wagon not having a diesel don’t even own a power wagon in the first place. A Diesel engine block is about twice as heavy as a gas engine, making the truck too heavy in the front. A diesel power wagon will not be able to perform extreme off-road as well as the gas engine.

@@jaysson1151 and most people that own a power wagon dont use it for offroading, and the hemi only weighs around 4 to 500 lbs less than a cummins which isnt much if they beef up the suspension

100k likes no views it’s not about the suspension, it’s about the weight pushing into the ground, especially in mud or sand. Also the reason why the Cummins will not work is because it’s too long and too deep. The oil pan hangs down too far and the winch will not be able to fit up front, plus the winch will block airflow for the intercooler. If you want a diesel, just get the regular Ram with the Cummins, it’s not much different.
