Ive had my 2018 chr (started with 20miles) for over a year and i love it!!! What this guy FORGOT to mention, he might just be talking about the base- •Rearview mirrors fold and heat up •Rearview mirrors will let you know if someone is next to you by singling a light •You can turn a sensory mode on that keeps you in the lane. If you get too close to any lines, the wheel will throw you off of it and make a beeping noise. •Front two seats DO heat up •The backup cam,should be same for both base and deluxe 2018/2019, is in the mirror which I freakin love!!! •Idk about the base but the deluxe has a push start •You can just grab the door handle to unlock the car •The rearview mirrors shine the logo when they open at night •It has normal,echo and sport mode which should be for both. Sport mode is great for the snow •The sensor camera is in the front logo and behind the mirror. Yes this car has two stop,lane cameras •THE BACK WINDOW IS FINE!!! Dude just brush the freakin snow off like your legally supposed to!!! Or better yet use the freakin wiper on the back. •The speed is fine dude. This video really showed that this was your first time in this car Only negatives really is •My doors dont automatically lock when you put it in drive. Idk if thats just a defect that toyota can fix •No power seats for some reason •The Rav4’s have the button to close the trunk. This doesnt. •No sunroof😭 the 2017 did have one. The car started in the UK and they saw that people THERE didn’t like the sunroof...so they took it out. GIVE THE USA A CHANCE!! So really this is a great CROSSOVER to own. I went with this because I didnt want a car(Camry) and I didnt want a full suv (Rav4,4Runners) Thats my review on this glorious crossover Thanks for reading

Alexander TheeGreat I have a 2018 that I now have about 60k on it and it’s been great, I like speed so the speed and acceleration isn’t the best but it’s reasonable for what it is and it gets great again mileage. They are very safe as well, I’ve been hit on the driver side by a semi truck and had to get the whole left side replaced and it was almost totalled out but I walked away with no scratches so props to toyota. I personally would rather have the back up camera video on the radio rather then the Rearview mirror but I’ve grown used to it at this point.

I just bought the C-HR and took it for a 4 hour road trip. I will admit, you do get stiff fairly quick (within an hour and a half) as the seats dont have much padding. (Or maybe they are just new) However, it is very fun to drive. From the driver assist features down to the cab environment, just an awesome trip. And then you get out and look at it! Just a beautiful design! Definately one of my better purchases.

I’ve had my 2020 for two years and I couldn’t ask for a better car..super cool looking, sleek, super fast and responsive, great in winter conditions, roomy, nothing bad at all.and as for the dumb blind spot, every car has a blind spot, just check once in mirror, turn head quickly to look, and check mirror again, and no big deal.

I’ve had my 2019 CHR for about five months and I love it. I bought it because I think it’s a really neat looking car. I wasn’t aware of all the advanced things it can do and extra features it has and It feels like I find out something new it can do everyday. My favorite surprise was the first time I approached the car at night with the key in my pocket and before I even touched the car the side mirrors popped out sporting decorative lights that say -Toyota CHR - on the ground. It’s like my car is saying “ Welcome Jody. Let’s go for a ride”. Lol, love it!

I have a 2018 and I love it ! It has heated seats and all the same technology as the 2019 except apple car play . It also has eco and sport modes. It also has an awesome feature he didn't mention. When you're driving and come to a really long red light, you can press the "hold" button down by the shifter and it HOLDS THE BREAK FOR YOU until you press the gas! That's so nice considering the lights where I live take forever. The 2019 has it too. I do wish it had AWD though. But besides that I absolutely adore everything about this car. I've moved so much stuff in it including a vanity and chair! There's so much space! Great job Toyota !

I have had my 2019 C-HR for almost four months, and I love it! The complaint about acceleration speed is legitimate, but I've never had a problem with merging. The smaller back seat windows would be problematic for kids, but I rarely have anyone in the back. It handles very well, especially going around corners, and it's really fun to drive.

Also, Blue flame is not a flat color, it has a unique shimmer to it in person just in case anyone was wondering. :)

I saw this color in person yesterday, and it was freaking awesome! ☺ But you mean to say, it is not a non-metallic color. "Flat is the oposite of gloss". It certainly does have that really cool pearl on the edges and curves, in bright sunlight.

I think I would be greatly disappointed if I purchased C-HR, i was interested but as I said main problem interior too tight, no sun roof and font like the rear lights.

Many who had a smaller hatchback like Ford focus are now buying C-HR or Nissan Juke. Often with some gutless 1.2 engine and manual or CVT box and front wheel drive, because most buyers are women and they don´t care for a 150+hp engine. Because they don´t want any of that and those who want a sporty small car will buy a Golf GTI, Focus RS. If it has nice alloys, cool color then it´s fine for them. Basically a city car with slightly higher ground clearance and higher seating position for better view in city traffic where they drive 90% of the time and youthful look. And a bargain price. That´s it.

I bought mine in 2017. Had it 4 years and took great care of it. Started making a strange humming noise in engine, turns out it was the transmission! Was going to cost $8,000 to replace! I don't think so. Traded it in and got a Camry. Sure it's stylish but not worth the headache with the CVT transmission.
@donaldbarden6294
@donaldbarden6294 9 ай бұрын
In 2019, they fixed the transmission issues. First gear is now an actual gear. And then it switches over to CVT. Acceleration is fine. I have logged almost 80,000 mi on mine with proper maintenance and I have had no problems. I think Toyota got it right in 2019 with the CVT

@@lidiageo Mine too. Averaged 52 mpg (5.4 l/100) over 1,500 mile (2,300 km) drive from the South of France to UK and back. The car is not a V8 and its target market are not interested in muscle cars. In Europe 90% of C-HRs bought are Hybrids. Tells you something. Toyota will not produce a diesel, neither will they sell the 1.2 petrol in Europe in the future. 2 million hybrid cars have already been sold by Toyota in Europe. Diesel is dying, or being killed off, because of VW, and because of governments. You can't transition from diesel to petrol once you've experienced economy without considering a hybrid. And, long gone are the days of open highways with nobody on it but you for hours, well not in Europe. France, for example, was sold on diesels, and now it is being taken away by successive government actions. Owners need an alternative, and most of them do not want to go from 50 mpg to 29 mpg especially when petrol is double the price it is in the US. Americans have, for years, enjoyed low petrol prices and leasing as well as many other ways to buy a car you can't afford paying for it on the never never. Europeans prefer to buy what they can afford now, and not over extend themselves with masses of debt (well every European except those from that tiny island called the UK, but don't get me started). Maybe Hybrids will take off in the US, but, not until the love of the gauche and the unnecessary flaunting of success starts to hit drivers in their pockets.

I was so impressed with the 2019 C-HR, I bought one! I got a 2 tone XLE model and it is a stunner. The 2 things that really made the difference for me was (1) all the incredible safety features and technology packed into the car to help keep my family safe and (2) the legendary Toyota quality you get from Toyota. I have a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty and I could not be any happier especially after using this car to replace my previous 20 year old money pit of a car. I live in CA and I will be adding all the TRD options available to the C-HR which include the TRD Air Intake for more horsepower and torque, the TRD Lowering Springs for a better stance and handling and the TRD Oil Cap, just because :) Could not be happier with this car. BTW I love the Puddle Lights and the G Monitor.

I have the 19' C-HR HYBRID MODELLISTA series, the most "luxury" version you can purchase from this specific model, it's the most aggressive and urban stylish C-HR. This is the car of my dream, I can go camping, fishing, I drive in Tokyo, in the Highway. It's everything I ever wanted. The C-HR put its rivals in the trash in my opinion, mine specially, has heat seat, heat handle, automatic proximity sensors 360, back camera assistant, voice control, full access handle control, even the mirrors don't get foggy, or wet, or frozen. It has 19" wheels ( original not purchased separate) it is hybrid, it's extremely quiet, and I can run 30km/L. I don't have spare tire, so the get a little bit "light", it give more power, I can feel it can handle 5 adults + luggage with no problems. Very powerful for its motor. I'm 100% satisfied, since I was in mind about the new RAV4 or the C-HR. I feel I make a right decision. From Japan, with love. Peace

Right!, Back in the day my RWD '96 BMW 318Ti Sport hatch got stuck in a deep snow with summer tires on. I then put Blizzak Winter tires and the car was a snow driving champ. A great handling car will handle good in the Winter with snow tires on...even if its a rear drive car. A front wheel car is better and all most will need. AWD is a luxury and great to have for those in the North with a lot of snow and ice.

I think you are missing a huge point for this car. It is probably the only car on the market with full range dynamic cruise control for any where near this price. I have owned the 2018 CH-R for a year and it is pretty much the best commuter car around for heavy traffic areas. I just lock on the car in front of me and it keeps pace automatically. Almost all of the other cars will only activate the dynamic cruise control if you are going around 30 MPH or more. A lot of people want 4wd and all that, and that is a great option, but this is a 20 - 24 k car with fit and finish and gets me where I want to go. I have had 4wd and it is just extra weight and more stuff to break down. I bought this instead of a prius because fuel is affordable at it's MPG and I don't have to worry about hybrid stuff breaking down. Id rather get a electric car OR a ICE instead of a hybrid.

I very recently bought this car, the most expensive version with most of the extras. In cyprus you cannot get the expensive sat nav for some reason which means no voice control. what I also dont like is that the toyota garage seemed to have no idea about the 2019 model with apple carplay so I settled for the 2018 model that does not have it. I like I get around 430 miles from a full tank of octane 98. Showing 58MPG with normal driving I would consider it to be. I hate that the front seats are manual seats. I dont get why. For me I have no issues seeing out the back, I adjusted the mirror and it was fine for me at least, maybe that differs on your hight? I like the amount of extras it has like heated seats, keyless entry, automatic stop and go cruise control and all the good stuff. I base my care purchases on the extras mainly and never saw myself previously buying a toyota but I am glad I did. I previously had a Mercedes c350e and was used to the speed of the Merc, but I dont see myself in another car and I did a lot of searching for the right car.

We bought the C-HR this past fall and love it! The engine has plenty of torque to get you out of trouble when traffic gets hectic, the automatic transmission is OK but better when in the Sport mode (tends to rev high) and the CarPlay within the infotainment system is smart. It is a commuter car for me and a 2nd car for our family (we bought a Highlander almost 2 years ago new). It has plenty of space for our kids, stuff and gets great gas mileage. It is our first Toyota smaller car and we are impressed with it. I would purchase it again.

In Europe there is no 2.0 available. You ca choose between 1.2 turbo (115HP) and 1.8 HSD (122 HP combined). 1.2 is also with AWD option. There are several trims: from basic seats made of fabric up to a mix of leather and fabrics with heating, set of full LED head and reat lights, also some two-tone body with black roof versions ("Selection"), JBL audio set is an option. We have CHR Hybrid (HSD) 2017 - it is a great car despite of lack of power. Real, everyday use results satysfying fuel consumption (39-47 MPG, real life, not on paper), but if you try a little - 52 MPG it is achievable. My wife is very happy with it and loves to ride it.

My favorite features are the hold button which he failed to disclose it is a button you press right there in middle next to parking brake to hold you at a stop light or any where it is stop and go, when stopping at a light or drive thru when stopped press hold it will display if done correct and you can let go of brake then when light turns green you only need to press gas to proceed and upon depressing brake again at full stop it will hold. Needs to be pressed for use each time you turn on car again to drive 😉 I also love the fact that all you have to do is have your FOB on you and car unlocks by pulling door handle, starts and locks with a touch without ever taking it out perfect for hands full situations. A tip is go to big city dealer and haggle down on price especially if on lot for a while you will get a great deal.

A couple of months or so ago, while having my '09 Corolla serviced AGAIN for ANOTHER recall (passenger side airbag), I had the opportunity to examine one of these in the dealer's showroom. Its roominess was pleasantly surprising. I can sit behind myself with plenty of leg and headroom, and getting in and out of the back is easy. Even with the dash jutting out on the passenger side, there was plenty of room for my knees (I'm 6'1" tall). In my opinion, the C-HR is a Corolla on stilts. If I was in the market for a new Corolla, I'd have this.

To be honest, the C-HR has been vastly improved for this model year over the decent (if not great) start of its life just last year. It has an interesting stand-out design that even works yet does look pretty good (basically a better looking Nissan Juke), it's well equipped for the price, has a functional interior with good quality especially given the price point of this vehicle, a decent amount of room despite the design and the size of SUV this is, has genuinely fun road manners (despite its weak powertrain) However, with flaws like the lack of all-wheel drive, weak powertrain, subpar-at-best fuel economy, and the fact that I think it relies more on form over function (Jesus Christ, the claustrophobic rear seat and massive rear blind spots...), do prove that C-HR still has some room for improvement, especially when we're talking about Toyota, who has put out the impressive new Camry, the near-perfect new Avalon, the surprising new Corolla (both sedan and hatchback), the interesting (in a positive demeanour) new RAV4, and so far, even the re-imagined badass new Supra. But again, despite its flaws, I still think the C-HR is a fun pick if you're shopping within the Sub-Compact SUV segment. *FINAL RATING:* 7/10 = Good

I just bought the 2019 C-HR limited and after 2 weeks I couldn't be more disappointed with it. I actually tried to return it after 7 days but was unable to without taking thousands in loss. My biggest complaint is the 13 gallon gas tank. Initially I purchased the Corolla hatchback and gave it to my daughter so I could get into something a little bigger. So heres a few of my concerns. 1. The gas tank is the exact same as a corolla which I couldn't believe they did since its a larger vehicle..So once I hit 260 miles my gas light comes on, then if I am lucky I can get up to about 315 miles. I pushed it once and ran completely out of gas at 340. Usually I can't put but about 11.5 to 12 in. On my Scion tc it has 14 gallons on paper but can easily put 15 gallons in it if I have to push it. I can get 415 miles on a tank in my Scion tc. My 2nd complaint is not having power seats on a limited. My 3rd is the transmission as there are times I feel nervous pulling out on the road as it feels like it spins and I have to floor it. Reminds me of a boat taking off in the water. 4th limited trunk space. 5th the display is just terrible. Maybe I am just used to the display that was in my 2012 Tesla I had once but to say the least I was disappointed in a 2019 vehicle having a display that I can barely use. The built in gps was terrible, I could never use it. I can't stand that split screen as I have to keep it on a two split and can't just have one on it all the time unless I am using carplay and I don't really care for carplay too much either as lets say I am using my maps but then I need to navigate to something else on my phone then it changes on the car display. Its just a pain and I'd rather just use my phone for everything until it gets better. Tesla display is king though. 6th is no sunroof option. again I have a limited and actually feel like I have limited options rather than having all the bells and whistles. Ultimately I went back to my 2015 Scion tc trd edition and couldn't be more happy and am putting my C-HR up for sale.

Love the C-HR...I drive the new Corolla Hatchback Hybrid model (live in Sweden). The new TNGA platform has done wonders for Toyota!

Great review. I like how you mention your height and use it to show how much space there really is in the car. I think I’m sold on this car.

Just got my 2019 CHR basic model. I’m glad you made this video in the snow because I’m in Connecticut and I was a lil worried on how it would drive in the snow.

I test drove one of these recently. The only thing that killed it for me was the tiny rear window. Trying to see past this car’s ‘blind spots’ was terrible, even at low speeds.

It's not really issue once you have driven it for a while.
Should you BUY a Toyota C-HR? Strange but very good? Hidden Gem??
