I find it interesting that the military had the Jeep first, before it was really popular with civilians. They slowly got bigger & more armored. The next generation seems to be huge even compared to the Hummer. Now they are getting what is basically a modernized version of the original Jeep

Yeah but these are much faster with a better ride, and way better handling. They do need these in some aspects as the newer versions of the humvees are much bigger.

Same thing happened with motorcycles. It wasn’t until the military bought mass produced Harley Davidsons for ww2 that they got popular after the war. I got a pic of my grandpa on a Army Harley in Germany in 1945. He said he never saw a motorcycle until he joined the Army. After he got home he rode motorcycles his entire life until got to old to do it. My grandma even rode her own bike which was unheard of during her time. She was a firecracker lol

@Thrandi as with many things, we've come full circle. In regards to firearms the Army is going back to larger calibers, from 22 cal bullets to 6.5. Its really neat to watch as in ten years what the military settles on will filter into the civilian market and explode with aftermarket support and upgrades.

I want one of those side-by-sides. Very cool. The only problem is the electric version is troops need to move and can't afford to run out of power or sit around and wait 2 hours to charge their vehicle. I totally agree with them being very quiet to be able to get close to a target. I think someone or company has to come up with a 400 or 500 mile battery for these vehicles.

it still probably needs air for cooling. also waterproofing is based on seals thats why its only rated to 1 meter for 30 minutes

@MichaelArcAngel1028 Thats exactly what it's for. It's for transport only. You don't use it for normal travel. It's mobile, so it can be inserted via the air and used to cover ground faster than walking.

When I was in Moab I saw the 2019 jeeps drive down the road in the main town so I followed then they pulled in to a parking lot I stuck a GoPro out the window and recorded the jeeps the dude yelled at me and tried to get me arrested I’m 12

The Polaris Defense models aren't. But I believe if you have a security company there's a loophole to get 1, my sister and brother in law used to weld the military models and they're so overbuilt it's crazy. And get this the military gave them guidelines to follow as far as strengthening the chassis and once they ship to the military they instantly get torn down and gone through and then they add any extras that the civilian market doesn't have access to. When I worked for Polaris we seen what happens when the military drops one from thousands of feet.

These are not really for CQC but to get to the fight or mission quickly. Some are also setup for javelins.

Looks great for moving wounded and civilians back to protected areas but clearly cannot be considered part of any combatant package given the awesome mass involved in moving both soldiers and respective equipment. In theory great scouting vehicles depending on any off the shelf electronics suite available as mapping hardware, software and communications plus could be easy to dig in and hide as an ambush vehicle. Throw in a rocket launcher and could do some damage as a skirmishing weapon as possible...especially if a fully autonomous mode available. Great for mobility once the weather turns really bad as well as Russia has nothing to compare to this still stuck in Cold War era dogma and systems.

Just like the crappy light armor Humvee we were using in Iraq. Where will these be used? Their not armored, I'm guessing only for cantonment areas only. We have plenty of those about a thousand bases in 80 different countries.

i mostly find light vehicles like these in Military environment get overloaded with gear, rendering them as useless as a dead donkey. Cool looking yes, military ? hmm nope, 2 man team yes ! computer guided ordinance yes... auto sniper from a laptop screen yes, as long as they can move fast and be something special, think outside the gear.kit box...

I think poLaris move superbly quick with dagor variant for singapore's artilery before 2019. But what are they right now ?. Canam use another third party for their military brand , which possiblity = making several civilians arround govt's contractor loose their hope to contribute (climate🍌cl0vvnsprogram🗑). And 'noise' never be main topic for electric atv/utv, bcoz they should have very reliable gas/oil/hydrogen generator which need heavy duty vehicle for each logistic and offcourse made a lot noise BtVV》 🐂vvicked 🏚🗑p0litixian🐪 implemented journalisticforces , unfit beraucrat and poisonusAC. Not mainly focus for utv or atv . I saw canadian motorcade on yt , they still using fossilfuel with big block. And their guards only using pickup for specific stuff's logistic
