My first car was a Nissan Hardbody '92. 4 cyl, 5 speed, 2wd. It was basic, cheap, and nearly indestructible. Abused it for 10 years and it never let me down. Put decent tires on it, and it would go many places other vehicles would need 4wd. Get stuck? A buddy or two can push you out on foot or pull on the fenders. I now have a Platinum F150 and although it's great, the simple Nissan did everything I asked of it

I really like this video. I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier 2wd V6. In 2016 during spring break, I went to Moab, Utah and I lived it. I went in some trails and the truck performed flawlessly. Of course I didn't take it to areas that ate built for 4wd but you'd be surprised on what it can do. I too have a manual transmission and I love the control that comes with it. I really think this is a great truck for the money.

Isn't it nice to be able to reach and strap down something in the bed of your truck without having to climb into the bed with it!. You should do a comparison between loading this truck and something like that fancy new raptor. you can't even reach a beer out of the cooler from the side of many new trucks.

@callofdutyguy97 жыл бұрын
This hurts to watch because my own Frontier that I like a lot became a problem for me. First the radiator leaked coolant into the transmission fluid and destroyed the transmission, then my catalytic converters melted and now the engine blew a head gasket and probably melted a cat again. Was a fun truck to drive but now it's just sitting on my drive way.
@callofdutyguy97 жыл бұрын
Burrito Sandwich yeah, mine is an automatic. I still have it but now I drive a 6-Speed manual Tacoma. I'm thinking about getting the Frontier fixed because it doesn't have much resale value anymore and I can keep using since it is still in good shape and is a crew cab where as the Tacoma is a Extended Cab.

I have to say as a frontier owner "2000 Crew Cab SE" 158,000 miles that just got a fresh set of new larger more aggressive tires and a brand new paint job, new lights all around and custom blacked out trim. I LOVE THIS TRUCK. If you want to see what a 2wd frontier is capable of with some modifications... search on youtube for "2003 nissan frontier long travel" from MetalGwar it's not all about 4wd and like has been said when you consider they want 50,60k for a brand new F150 or raptor etc...its ridiculous NOT to get a frontier and make it what you want....and save 35,40k...

If you are going on any challenging trail, it's best to use all 4x4 features your vehicle offers. This way, you have less of a chance of getting stuck and stranded. Unless, getting stuck is what you are trying to do.

About $1500 more will get you a base Tacoma with 1700lb payload more power/mpgs and a six speed auto. Resale five years down the road will be more than $1500 on the Tacomas favor.
@TFLtruck7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment but your statement is not true. The base Tacoma starts at $24,320. That $3K above the cost of this truck and almost $6K over the cost of the base Frontier. Feel free to google the answer next time. Thanks.
@creigmacc7 жыл бұрын
Google? I went to the manufacturers website. When compared to each other at equal drive train levels the Toyota is about $465 more than the Nissan when equipped at its base level, If you add the rear seats it would be $1715 more than that. though with more standard equipment, The Toyota comes with pwr locks, windows, entune, bed caps, bed rails, more power, LSD, a six speed and a 1620 lb payload, standard on the SR. The auto version of the Nissan has 880 payload, so with 2 grown men and a four wheeler you would be over max. Yes you are correct the base 5 speed manual is less, it also has less features and will have way less resale.

My work has two Frontiers, one is a 2015, and one is a 2008, there is almost zero difference in the trucks, the initial/long term quality is horribly shitty, the turning radius is more than a damn barge, and they are so pathetically slow and dim witted that I genuinely prefer our older single cab rangers, the Nissan we got brand new already has electrical issues with the truck thinking the door is open while going around corners and it doesn't even have 2k miles on it (our 2013 Nissan got rear ended pretty hard), the the steering column rattles and clicks making turns. They seriously need to shoot this generation Frontier in the head and get on with making one thats close to the Tacoma, such a better truck. Although the Nissans are cheap, there is no need to have such an appalling truck in 2017.

Riley Potter Why Nissan's seems to always have electrical issues? 🤔
@MrBigblue77 жыл бұрын
If the fist one was so bad why did you get another?
@kavanhorn7 жыл бұрын
This is nonsense on stilts. The 2nd generation Frontiers are practically bulletproof and more than a match, both in reliability and performance, for the Taco for less money. My "06 has almost 200k miles and has never left me stranded. Other than the blower motor resistor and a fan motor relay I have never had any electrical problem. Other problems have been minimal and never a show-stopper. Your door open switch is bad or loose. Fix it and the truck won't think the door is open. The V6 Frontiers can't be described as slow (if that's what you meant) compared to almost any other mid or full sized truck; it makes 265 HP compared to not much over 200 for a 4.0 L late-model Ranger. Other than an updated, less Spartan interior, the only thing this truck needs is a diesel option.
@thrillseekanz78746 жыл бұрын
kavh agreed, in the rest of the world we have this with a V6 twin turbo diesel with 240hp and 550nm of torque, it hauls arse. People who moan about these show extreme bias or have caused operator error and blame Nissan. Newsflash, compared to most manufacturers Nissan know what they are doing.
