The dumbest thing people do is trading their trucks in to dealerships. Because you get screwed twice. Overpriced new truck is one. Number two is the under book value you get for your trade in. Dealerships are milking you like a cow 🐄

So why doesn't Canada make their own pickup truck to compete? By the time all the socialism gets rolled in it won't be any different in price and the truck won't be nearly as good.

@@EGGINFOOLS ...GM,Ford and FCA are also Canadian Companies...They are Domestic Vehicles in Canada !!! Truck prices in Canada are the same as in America ,reason truck prices are higher in Canada is because Canadians on average make more money ,thus everything is a little more.... Toyota,Nissan,VW,etc are Imports in Canada..GM,Ford,FCA are Domestic ! Furthermore America has as much Socialism as Canada does...Look at your State how many laws and rules,in most cases America has more laws/rules than in Canada..its changing Canada is catching up ,15 years ago Canada had less laws and rules.. ***I live in both Countries,born in the U.S lived in Canada with my Mom for a bit then went back/forth to my Dads place ... @@01trsmar In Canada, median household income is only around CAD$70,000 and some change. In US dollars, that's only around $53,000. In the US, median household income is $61,372. That doesn't adjust for living cost, which is much higher in Canada. Canadians gets screwed all around. High prices + Less pay = Canadian living.

I understand that the automakers choose which truck to send you but that creates a dilemma. Your comparing apples to oranges. I think you should request a more level playing field from them. There's a Tundra with (amazing) off road fox shocks going up against a Ram on bags, a little diesel going up against a huge 6.2L.. just way to many variances...

Mike, that's the only thing the haters can bash on the Tundra. They can't both on it's solid build/reliability or it's fantastic resale value so they cry that its a gas hog...guess what? So is every other truck. We don't buy these for fuel economy.

And that was with the TRD PRO, which undeniably gets the worst mileage out of the entire lineup of trims. This is my biggest complaint with TFL. They seem to exclusively test the TRD PRO Tundras and then knock the truck for being what it is designed for. Especially in an ON ROAD test of capabilities. The TRD SPORT is the truck they should have tested here. Or a platinum/1794. The biggest knock of the truck was it's off road tuned suspension in a hauling test.... Like ... Duh.

One time I got my old 2005 GMC half ton extended cab stuck about 4 miles up a snow covered dirt road in Montana, called a friend to come pull me out, he got stuck, so we both called a tow truck company which happened to be the same one, so the tow truck guy drives from an hour away and gets my friend out, and then got too scared to come further out to where I was so he left, and at this time it was about midnight or so. So I sleep in my truck and then in the morning I call again so they send out 2 guys from the same tow company and they bring up 2 snowmobiles and a tow truck, well they were too scared to bring the tow truck up to me so they come pick me and my dog up on the snowmobiles and by this time it's been 24 hours since I left home and had anything to eat or drink. So they get me on the snowmobiles and we leave my truck there and they drive me home. So then they drive an hour back home and the next day they bring a more capable 4x4 tow truck the next day and pull my truck out and then drop it off to me in town lol. So between 3 tow trucks and 3 different days I racked up a $1,600 (USD) tow bill, but I made my insurance cover it so that was cool. But yeah life lesson, don't go too crazy driving around in the snow, it gets expensive.

It looks like 17 people agree with me and none with you. How can you tell me the Tundra isn't a truck lol. Its a dated interior with everything someone needs and a V8 that will make 650 horsepower supercharged. Even supercharged its still over 10,000 less than the competition @@jaredchampagne2752
@jaredchampagne2752
@jaredchampagne2752 6 жыл бұрын
Evan Hasson your comment is 4 weeks old and is a main comment not a side comment of course it has a couple likes from fan boys. Most people that comment on stuff on KZbin just hate on stuff they can’t afford, but I’ve driven them all. Okay, so you agree it’s a dated interior, it’s a dated truck, it’s sluggish, the body panels make it look like a crossover SUV, the big 3 have all the basics AND more! Why wouldn’t you go with the big 3, they’re tried and true, you don’t see commercial companies using Toyota’s do you? No because they’re for yuppies that should be driving a car but want a truck to fit in. A tundra is what ford Chevy and dodge were 15 years ago. There’s a reason that ford and Chevy sell 100 pickups to 1 Toyota, they can’t hold up to the same abuse as American trucks, you want to claim power? If you’re going that route, Chevy LS motors can handle 1000hp stock with a few bolt ons and be daily driveable lol. Of course any v8 can be supercharged, itd be weird if it couldn’t. You get what you pay for, a Tundra is a car with a bed.
@evanhasson6032
@evanhasson6032 6 жыл бұрын
Not sluggish actually, its faster than some of these trucks equipped with their respective diesels, tiny ass v6's and even V8's. You see the problem with "more" is that it opens the door for more reliability problems. There is a reason Toyota truck are so damn reliable and its because they don't have a bunch of extra nannies. It looks nothing like a crossover SUV and you couldn't even come up with an argument for that. You may want to get your eyes checked. Commercial companies don't use Toyota trucks because they want to support the American market. Also, the American truck brands have incentive deals for large fleets, something Toyota does not do. Ford, Dodge, and Chevy were nothing like the Tundra fifteen years ago because they broke down a lot. Also, the tacoma is the number 1 selling midsized pickup so I do not where you got that statistic. You are correct that a chevy could make that much power, its just that it is more expensive and less reliable power. Also, THE Ballistic BJ Baldwin drive a Tundra, as does Mark Owen from Seal Team Six and I'm sure you wouldn't tell it to either of their faces that they drive a car haha. One more, can a car tow a space ship, I think not. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aajIhIJnfpqbqKc @@jaredchampagne2752

Nothing but Toyota truck for me. I am not rich like some guys are here. I buy stuff and keep it for long long time. I can't comment on any other vehicle coz I only have had toyota in my life. I had used celica in my college time but Once, I started working full time I bought me 2001 tacoma which I just traded in for 2019 tundra 2 months ago. I had 326k miles on tacoma with nothing changed except 1 o2 sensor and oil, tire. Same transmission fluid, never added. Same brake fluid, never topped it off. same power steering fluid, never topped it off. I have done nothing on truck except tire, oil and gas and 1 o2 sensor. 2001 Solara, I still have it, its my daily driver 260k miles. Same story, nothing done except tire, oil and gas and once in 5 years or so I add bottle of fuel cleaner. That's about it. Best part is, it still drives like just broken in. These 2 vehicle never gave me any problem. I was payment free for almost 14 years and only liability on vehicle, so my insurance was really low. I paid my house off with that saving. Also, I was able to buy tundra with trade in tacoma and Cash. No loan. And, I have always made less than 50k in my life. If I was rich, may be i'd go for some fancy stuff but Toyota keeps me debt free. ps, i forgot to mention brake pads and batteries changed here and there.

Randy Thompson Right now diesel is $0.87 more than gas per gallon. IF the diesel got 9mpg more than the gas (and it’ll only get around 4-6 more) it would be even in dollars per mile. So you are loosing money with the diesel (and power and torque) not including the cost of the def, or higher oil change cost, or higher cost to purchase the Diesel engine. The way I see it, the absolute ONLY advantage of the diesel right now is more range on a single tank of gas. And my bladder can’t outlast a 30gal tank of gas getting 20mpg.

How did you calculated the average fuel consumption? I'm no mathematician, but I learned that you add the 3 numbers then divide by 3. None of your averages do this, except for the Tundra in MPG (15.4). Also, what about the price? Paying top dollar for 1st place isn't always a win. Points should be awarded for lower pricing and better financing options.

I wouldn't touch the Ram with the air ride with a 10 foot poll. My Dad has a 2016 with the air ride and it does not like cold weather, He has taken it in 3 times for months of repair work (waiting for parts) because it likes to fail at temperatures lower than -20C. And when he took it in there were other trucks there with the same problem as well. At least 2 of the times the entire system had to be replaced. Thankfully it was still under warranty. Note it was so bad the truck had to be towed 70 km to the dealership because the truck was undriveable.

that's the problem with the Ram and Ford trucks. They are cashing in on the "yuppie gadget crowd" with all the technology. This stuff ends up being unreliable and expensive to fix down the road. A lot of people around where I live look at Ford and Ram as trucks you just lease but, never buy.

Hey Roger, Here is an explanation from the outfit responsible for the fuel economy chart: "The comparable average does not average the fuel consumption values for the three test trips but rather uses the sum of the fuel consumed divided by the sum of the trip distances for all three trips, multiplied by 100. Essentially, this ensures that all fuel consumed and distance driven is accounted for." Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

I really like what you guys are doing to get solid info about the different trucks out there to the population. However, I'm still a bit mind blown by the fact that none (that I know of) of multiples reviews about the Ram mention that this air suspension system is faulty in northern regions like Canada for instance. I mean, some of the TFL reviewers are from Ontario so they must of heard about all the troubles that comes with the air suspension on our cold winters. It was not meant to withstand our harsh winters!! It starts to feel like FCA told you guys to not talk about all the problems that people are experiencing with the Ram's air suspension. For those of you still wondering what issues I'm talking about, here are some (a quick google search will confirm all this): - empty suspension on cold mornings - system emptying itself while driving - compressor refuses to fill-up the balloons - frozen block-valve - frozen compressor - unable to use the different riding levels (stuck on a specific setting) - etc! So what gives ? I'd really love to hear you guys talk about it because as you are well aware, the problems are quite real.

None of the dealers would deal on them though. I got a screaming deal on mine and the powertrain combo is tried and true and should provide years of service.
